1 L et love of the brethren continue.
Let love for your fellow believers continue and be a fixed practice with you.
2 D o not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

3 R emember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body.
Remember those who are in prison as if you were their fellow prisoner, and those who are ill-treated, since you also are liable to bodily sufferings.
4 M arriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
Let marriage be held in honor (esteemed worthy, precious, of great price, and especially dear) in all things. And thus let the marriage bed be undefiled (kept undishonored); for God will judge and punish the unchaste and adulterous.
5 M ake sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “ I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,”
Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money and be satisfied with your present; for He Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. not, not, not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let down ( relax My hold on you)! 6 s o that we confidently say, “ The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me ?”
So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm. What can man do to me?
7 R emember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith.
Remember your leaders and superiors in authority who brought to you the Word of God. Observe attentively and consider their manner of living (the outcome of their well-spent lives) and imitate their faith ( their conviction that God exists and is the Creator and Ruler of all things, the Provider and Bestower of eternal salvation through Christ, and their leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness).
8 J esus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is the same, yesterday, today, and forever (to the ages).
9 D o not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited.
Do not be carried about by different and varied and alien teachings; for it is good for the heart to be established and ennobled and strengthened by means of grace (God’s favor and spiritual blessing) and not foods, which bring no benefit or profit to those who observe them.
10 W e have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.
We have an altar from which those who serve and worship in the tabernacle have no right to eat.
11 F or the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned outside the camp.
For when the blood of animals is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin, the victims’ bodies are burned outside the limits of the camp.
12 T herefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate.
Therefore Jesus also suffered and died outside the gate in order that He might purify and consecrate the people through His own blood and set them apart as holy.
13 S o, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.
Let us then go forth to Him outside the camp, bearing the contempt and abuse and shame with Him.
14 F or here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come. God-pleasing Sacrifices
For here we have no permanent city, but we are looking for the one which is to come.
15 T hrough Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.
Through Him, therefore, let us constantly and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name.
16 A nd do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Do not forget or neglect to do kindness and good, to be generous and distribute and contribute to the needy '> as embodiment and proof of fellowship], for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
17 O bey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.
Obey your spiritual leaders and submit to them, for they are constantly keeping watch over your souls and guarding your spiritual welfare, as men who will have to render an account. let them do this with gladness and not with sighing and groaning, for that would not be profitable to you.
18 P ray for us, for we are sure that we have a good conscience, desiring to conduct ourselves honorably in all things.
Keep praying for us, for we are convinced that we have a good (clear) conscience, that we want to walk uprightly and live a noble life, acting honorably and in complete honesty in all things.
19 A nd I urge you all the more to do this, so that I may be restored to you the sooner. Benediction
And I beg of you the more earnestly, in order that I may be restored to you the sooner.
20 N ow the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord,
Now may the God of peace, Who brought again from among the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood the everlasting agreement (covenant, testament),
21 e quip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Strengthen (complete, perfect) and make you what you ought to be and equip you with everything good that you may carry out His will; works in you and accomplishes that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ (the Messiah); to Whom be the glory forever and ever (to the ages of the ages). Amen (so be it).
22 B ut I urge you, brethren, bear with this word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.
