1 T hen the Lord said to me, “Go again, love a woman who is loved by her husband, yet an adulteress, even as the Lord loves the sons of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love raisin cakes.”
Then said the Lord to me, Go again, love woman who is beloved of a paramour and is an adulteress, even as the Lord loves the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love cakes of raisins.
2 S o I bought her for myself for fifteen shekels of silver and a homer and a half of barley.

3 T hen I said to her, “You shall stay with me for many days. You shall not play the harlot, nor shall you have a man; so I will also be toward you.”
And I said to her, You shall be to me for many days; you shall not play the harlot and you shall not belong to another man. So will I also be to you.
4 F or the sons of Israel will remain for many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar and without ephod or household idols.
For the children of Israel shall dwell and sit deprived many days, without king or prince, without sacrifice or pillar, and without ephod or teraphim (household gods).
5 A fterward the sons of Israel will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king; and they will come trembling to the Lord and to His goodness in the last days.
Afterward shall the children of Israel return and seek the Lord their God, and David, their King; and they shall come in fear to the Lord and to His goodness and His good things in the latter days.
