1 C uando Salomón hubo acabado la obra de la casa de Jehová, y la casa real, y todo lo que Salomón quiso hacer,

When Solomon finished the building of the Lord’s house and the king’s house, and all he desired and was pleased to do,

2 J ehová apareció a Salomón la segunda vez, como le había aparecido en Gabaón.

The Lord appeared to Solomon the second time, as He had appeared to him at Gibeon.

3 Y le dijo Jehová: Yo he oído tu oración y tu ruego que has hecho en mi presencia. Yo he santificado esta casa que tú has edificado, para poner mi nombre en ella para siempre; y en ella estarán mis ojos y mi corazón todos los días.

The Lord told him, I have heard your prayer and supplication which you have made before Me; I have hallowed this house which you have built, and I have put My Name there forever. My eyes and My heart shall be there perpetually.

4 Y si tú anduvieres delante de mí como anduvo David tu padre, en integridad de corazón y en equidad, haciendo todas las cosas que yo te he mandado, y guardando mis estatutos y mis decretos,

And if you will walk before Me, as David your father walked, in integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, keeping My statutes and My precepts,

5 y o afirmaré el trono de tu reino sobre Israel para siempre, como hablé a David tu padre, diciendo: No faltará varón de tu descendencia en el trono de Israel.

Then I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father, saying, There shall not fail you a man upon the throne of Israel.

6 M as si obstinadamente os apartareis de mí vosotros y vuestros hijos, y no guardareis mis mandamientos y mis estatutos que yo he puesto delante de vosotros, sino que fuereis y sirviereis a dioses ajenos, y los adorareis;

But if you turn away from following Me, you or your children, and will not keep My commandments and My statutes which I have set before you but go and serve other gods and worship them,

7 y o cortaré a Israel de sobre la faz de la tierra que les he entregado; y esta casa que he santificado a mi nombre, yo la echaré de delante de mí, e Israel será por proverbio y refrán a todos los pueblos;

Then I will cut off Israel from the land I have given them, and this house I have hallowed for My Name (renown) I will cast from My sight. And Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all the peoples.

8 y esta casa, que estaba en estima, cualquiera que pase por ella se asombrará, y se burlará, y dirá: ¿Por qué ha hecho así Jehová a esta tierra y a esta casa?

This house shall become a heap of ruins; every passerby shall be astonished and shall hiss and say, Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?

9 Y dirán: Por cuanto dejaron a Jehová su Dios, que había sacado a sus padres de tierra de Egipto, y echaron mano a dioses ajenos, y los adoraron y los sirvieron; por eso ha traído Jehová sobre ellos todo este mal. Otras actividades de Salomón (2 Cr. 8. 1-18)

Then they will answer, Because they forsook the Lord their God, Who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have laid hold of other gods and have worshiped and served them; therefore the Lord has brought on them all this evil.

10 A conteció al cabo de veinte años, cuando Salomón ya había edificado las dos casas, la casa de Jehová y la casa real,

At the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the two houses, the Lord’s house and the king’s house,

11 p ara las cuales Hiram rey de Tiro había traído a Salomón madera de cedro y de ciprés, y cuanto oro quiso, que el rey Salomón dio a Hiram veinte ciudades en tierra de Galilea.

For which Hiram king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with as much cedar and cypress timber and gold as he desired, King Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

12 Y salió Hiram de Tiro para ver las ciudades que Salomón le había dado, y no le gustaron.

And Hiram came from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him, and they did not please him.

13 Y dijo: ¿Qué ciudades son estas que me has dado, hermano? Y les puso por nombre, la tierra de Cabul, nombre que tiene hasta hoy.

He said, What are these cities worth which you have given me, my brother? So they are called the Cabul Land to this day.

14 E Hiram había enviado al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro.

And Hiram sent to the king 120 talents of gold.

15 E sta es la razón de la leva que el rey Salomón impuso para edificar la casa de Jehová, y su propia casa, y Milo, y el muro de Jerusalén, y Hazor, Meguido y Gezer:

This is the account of the levy which King Solomon raised to build the house of the Lord, his own house, the Millo, the wall of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.

16 F araón el rey de Egipto había subido y tomado a Gezer, y la quemó, y dio muerte a los cananeos que habitaban la ciudad, y la dio en dote a su hija la mujer de Salomón.

For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up and taken Gezer, burned it with fire, slew the Canaanites who dwelt in the city, and had given it as dowry to his daughter, Solomon’s wife.

17 R estauró, pues, Salomón a Gezer y a la baja Bet-horón,

So Solomon rebuilt Gezer and Lower Beth-horon,

18 a Baalat, y a Tadmor en tierra del desierto;

Baalath and Tamar (Tadmor) in the wilderness, in the land of Judah,

19 a simismo todas las ciudades donde Salomón tenía provisiones, y las ciudades de los carros, y las ciudades de la gente de a caballo, y todo lo que Salomón quiso edificar en Jerusalén, en el Líbano, y en toda la tierra de su señorío.

And all the store cities which Solomon had and cities for his chariots and cities for his horsemen, and whatever Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

20 A todos los pueblos que quedaron de los amorreos, heteos, ferezeos, heveos y jebuseos, que no eran de los hijos de Israel;

As for all the people who were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, who were not Israelites,

21 a sus hijos que quedaron en la tierra después de ellos, que los hijos de Israel no pudieron acabar, hizo Salomón que sirviesen con tributo hasta hoy.

Their children who were left after them in the land, whom the Israelites were not able utterly to destroy, of them Solomon made a forced levy of slaves to this day.

22 M as a ninguno de los hijos de Israel impuso Salomón servicio, sino que eran hombres de guerra, o sus criados, sus príncipes, sus capitanes, comandantes de sus carros, o su gente de a caballo.

But Solomon made no slaves of the Israelites; they were the soldiers, his officials, attendants, commanders, captains, chariot officers, and horsemen.

23 Y los que Salomón había hecho jefes y vigilantes sobre las obras eran quinientos cincuenta, los cuales estaban sobre el pueblo que trabajaba en aquella obra.

These were the chief officers over Solomon’s work, 550 who had charge of the people who did the work.

24 Y subió la hija de Faraón de la ciudad de David a su casa que Salomón le había edificado; entonces edificó él a Milo.

But Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of the City of David to her house which Solomon had built for her; then he built the Millo.

25 Y ofrecía Salomón tres veces cada año holocaustos y sacrificios de paz sobre el altar que él edificó a Jehová, y quemaba incienso sobre el que estaba delante de Jehová, después que la casa fue terminada.

Three times a year Solomon offered burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar he built to the Lord, and he burned incense with them before the Lord. So he finished the house.

26 H izo también el rey Salomón naves en Ezión-geber, que está junto a Elot en la ribera del Mar Rojo, en la tierra de Edom.

And King Solomon made a fleet of ships in Ezion-geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red Sea, in Edom.

27 Y envió Hiram en ellas a sus siervos, marineros y diestros en el mar, con los siervos de Salomón,

And Hiram sent with the fleet his servants, shipmen who had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.

28 l os cuales fueron a Ofir y tomaron de allí oro, cuatrocientos veinte talentos, y lo trajeron al rey Salomón.

They came to Ophir and got 420 talents of gold and brought it to King Solomon.
