1 О Моаве. Так говорит Господь Сил, Бог Израиля: – Горе Нево – он будет опустошен! Кирьятаим будет опозорен и захвачен; крепость будет опозорена и разрушена.

Concerning Moab: Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Woe to Nebo, for it is laid waste! Kiriathaim is put to shame and taken; Misgab is put to shame, broken down, and crushed.

2 М инует слава Моава; в Хешбоне замышляют против него зло: «Идем, покончим с этим народом». И ты, Мадмен, замолкнешь; меч будет преследовать тебя.

The glory of Moab is no more; in Heshbon they planned evil against her, saying, Come, let us cut her off from being a nation. You also, O Madmen, shall be brought to silence; the sword shall pursue you.

3 С лышите крики из Хоронаима, крики великого опустошения и разрушения.

The sound of a cry from Horonaim, desolation and great destruction!

4 П огибнет Моав, заплачут его малые дети.

Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.

5 П однимаются жители на Лухит и на ходу горько плачут; на дороге, ведущей в Хоронаим, слышен скорбный плач о разорении.

For the ascent of Luhith will be climbed with continual weeping; for on the descent of Horonaim they have heard the distress of the cry of destruction.

6 Б егите! Спасайте свои жизни! Будьте, как одинокий можжевельник в пустыне.

Flee! Save your lives! But they shall be like a destitute and forsaken person in the wilderness.

7 З а то, что вы надеялись на свои дела и богатства, вас тоже захватят. В плен отправится Кемош со своими священниками и вождями.

For because you have trusted in your works and in your treasures, you shall also be taken. And Chemosh shall go into captivity, his priests and his princes together.

8 Г убитель придет в каждый город – ни один город не спасется. Долина погибнет, равнина придет в запустение, как и сказал Господь.

And the destroyer shall come upon every city; no city shall escape. The valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be devastated, as the Lord has said.

9 Д айте Моаву крылья, чтобы он мог улететь. Его города опустеют, останутся без горожан.

Give wings to Moab, for she will flee and get away; her cities will be desolate, without any to dwell in them.

10 П роклят тот, кто небрежен, исполняя дело Господне! Проклят тот, кто удерживает меч от кровопролития!

Cursed be he who does the work of the Lord negligently; and cursed be he who keeps back his sword from blood.

11 М оав от юности пребывал в покое, как вино над своим осадком, что из сосуда в сосуд не переливали – так и Моав не ходил в плен. Так что вкус его, как и прежде, и запах не изменился.

Moab has been at ease from his youth, and he has settled on his lees and has not been drawn off from one vessel to another, neither has he gone into exile. Therefore his taste remains in him, and his scent has not changed.

12 Н о наступают дни, – возвещает Господь, – когда Я пошлю к нему виноделов, чтобы перелить его, опустошить его сосуды и разбить его кувшины вдребезги.

Therefore behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I shall send to tilters who shall tilt him up and shall empty his vessels and break his bottles (earthenware) in pieces.

13 М оав тогда постыдится Кемоша, как дом Израиля постыдился Вефиля, своей надежды.

And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.

14 К ак же вы можете говорить: «Мы храбрецы, мы отважные в битве воины?»

How can you say, We are heroes and mighty men in the war?

15 М оав будет разрушен, его города будут взяты; его лучшие юноши пойдут на бойню, – говорит Царь, Чье Имя – Господь Сил. –

Moab has been made desolate, and his cities have gone up; and his chosen young men have gone down to the slaughter, says the King, Whose name is the Lord of hosts.

16 П адение Моава близко; день его бедствия спешит.

The destruction of Moab is coming near, and his calamity hastens swiftly.

17 П лачьте о нем, все его соседи, все, кто знал его славу, говорите: «Как сломан могучий скипетр, как сломан жезл прославленный!»

Bemoan him, all you who are around him, and all you who know his name; say, How broken is the mighty scepter and the splendid rod!

18 С ойди с почетного места и сядь на иссохшую землю, дочь-обитательница – Дивона потому что губитель Моава двинется на тебя и разрушит твои укрепленные города.

Come down from your glory, you inhabitant of the Daughter of Dibon, and sit on the ground among the thirsty! For the destroyer of Moab is advancing against you; he will destroy your strongholds.

19 В стань у дороги и смотри, живущий в Ароере. Расспрашивай беженца и уцелевшую, спрашивай: «Что случилось?»

O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way and watch! Ask him who flees and her who escapes, What has happened?

20 М оав обесславлен, ведь он сломлен; рыдайте и плачьте! Расскажите вдоль побережий Арнона, что разрушен Моав.

Moab is put to shame, for she is broken down. Wail and cry out! Tell by the Arnon that Moab is laid waste (destroyed).

21 С уд пришел на города в плоскогорье: на Холон, Иахац и на Мефаат,

Judgment has come upon the land of the plain—upon Holon and Jahzah and Mephaath,

22 н а Дивон, Нево и Бет-Дивлатаим,

And upon Dibon and Nebo and Beth-diblathaim,

23 н а Кирьятаим, Бет-Гамул и Бет-Меон,

And upon Kiriathaim and Beth-gamul and Beth-meon,

24 н а Кериот и Боцру, и на все дальние и ближние города Моава.

And upon Kerioth and Bozrah—and all the cities of the land of Moab, far and near.

25 Р ог Моава отрублен и его рука сломана, – возвещает Господь. –

The horn (strength) of Moab is cut off, and his arm is shattered, says the Lord.

26 Н апоите его допьяна, потому что он возносился перед Господом. Пусть он вываляется в своей блевотине; пусть он станет посмешищем.

Make him drunk, for he has magnified himself against the Lord. Moab also shall splash in his vomit, and he too shall be held in derision.

27 Р азве не посмешищем был у тебя Израиль? Разве пойман он был с ворами, что ты презрительно качал головой каждый раз, когда говорил о нем?

For was not Israel derision to you? Was he found among thieves—since whenever you speak of him you wag your head ?

28 О ставьте города и селитесь в скалах, жители Моава. Будьте как голуби, что гнездятся на краях расщелин.

O you inhabitants of Moab, leave the cities and dwell among the rocks, and be like the dove that makes her nest in the walls of the yawning ravine.

29 – Слышали мы о гордости Моава, о его чрезмерной гордости и тщеславии, о его гордости и надменности, о его заносчивом сердце.

We have heard of the pride of Moab, the extremely proud one—his loftiness, his arrogance, his conceit, and the haughtiness of his heart.

30 – Знаю Я его наглость, – возвещает Господь, – но пуста его похвальба, и дела его ничего не стоят.

I know his insolent wrath, says the Lord, and the nothingness of his boastings and his deeds; they are false and have accomplished nothing.

31 П оэтому плачу Я о Моаве, рыдаю обо всем Моаве, скорблю о жителях Кир-Хереса.

Therefore I will wail over Moab, and I will cry out over the whole of Moab. Over the men of Kir-heres (Kir-hareseth) there will be sighing and mourning.

32 Я плачу о вас, как Я плакал о Иазере, о виноградниках Сивмы. Ваши лозы тянулись к морю, достигали моря Иазера. Разрушитель набросился на летние плоды, на спелый виноград.

O vines of Sibmah, I weep for you more than the weeping of Jazer. Your tendrils have gone over the sea, reaching even to Jazer. The destroyer has fallen upon your summer fruit harvest and your crop of grapes.

33 В еселье и радость ушли с плодородной земли Моава. Вину из давилен Я положил конец; никто в них не топчет с радостным криком. Хотя и стоит крик, но не радостный он.

Joy and gladness are taken away from the fruitful orchards and fields and from the land of Moab. And I have made the juice to fail from what is pressed out in the vats; no one treads with shouting. Their shouting is no shouting.

34 О т Хешбона до Елеалы раздаются рыдания; крики слышны до самого Иахаца, от Цоара до Хоронаима и Эглат-Шлешия, ведь даже воды реки Нимрима пересохнут.

From the cry of Heshbon even to Elealeh even to Jahaz have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even to Horonaim and Eglath-shelishiyah, for even the waters of Nimrim have become desolations.

35 Я истреблю в Моаве тех, кто приносит жертвы в святилища на возвышенностях и возжигает благовония своим богам, – возвещает Господь. –

Moreover, I will cause to cease in Moab, says the Lord, the one who ascends and offers in the high place and the one who burns incense to his gods.

36 П оэтому Мое сердце плачет о Моаве, как свирель; плачет, как свирель, о жителях Кир-Хереса. Богатство, которое они скопили, погибло.

Therefore My heart moans and sighs for Moab like flutes, and My heart moans and sighs like flutes for the men of Kir-heres (Kir-hareseth); therefore the abundant riches they gained has perished.

37 В се головы острижены, все бороды сбриты; на всех руках порезы, и одеты они в рубище.

For every head is shaven bald and every beard cut off: upon all the hands are cuts (slashes) and upon the loins is sackcloth.

38 Н а всех крышах Моава и на площадях все рыдают, потому что Я разбил Моав, как сосуд, который никому не нужен, – возвещает Господь. –

On all the housetops of Moab and in its streets there is lamentation everywhere, for I have broken Moab like a vessel in which there is no pleasure, says the Lord.

39 К ак он раскололся! Как они рыдают! Как позорно Моав показал спину! Моав стал посмешищем и ужасом для всех соседей.

How it is broken down! How they wail! How Moab has turned his back in shame! So Moab has become a derision and a terror to all who are round about him.

40 Т ак говорит Господь: – Орел налетит на свою добычу, простирая свои крылья над Моавом.

For thus says the Lord: Behold, he shall fly swiftly like an eagle and shall spread out his wings against Moab.

41 К ериот будет взят, крепости будут захвачены. Затрепещут в тот день сердца моавских воинов, словно сердце роженицы.

Kerioth shall be taken and the strongholds seized; and the hearts of the mighty warriors of Moab in that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

42 К ак народ истребится Моав, потому что он возносился перед Господом.

And Moab shall be destroyed from being a nation, because he has magnified himself against the Lord.

43 У жас, яма и западня ждут тебя, народ Моава, – возвещает Господь. –

Terror and pit and snare are before you, O inhabitant of Moab, says the Lord.

44 В сякий, кто побежит от ужаса, упадет в яму, всякий, выбравшийся из ямы, угодит в западню; Я нашлю эти беды на Моав в год его наказания, – возвещает Господь. –

He who flees from the terror will fall into the pit, and he who gets up out of the pit will be taken and caught in the trap or snare; for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation (their inspection and infliction of punishment), says the Lord.

45 В тени Хешбона замерли изнуренные беженцы: полыхает огонь из Хешбона, пышет пламя из дома сигонова, обжигает лоб Моаву, темя народу мятежному.

In the shadow of Heshbon the fugitives stand powerless (stopped in their tracks, helpless and without strength), for a fire has gone forth from Heshbon, a flame from the midst of Sihon; it has destroyed the corner of Moab and the crowns of the heads of the ones in tumult.

46 Г оре тебе, Моав! Погиб народ Кемоша; твои сыновья взяты в плен, твои дочери – в неволе.

Woe to you, O Moab! The people of Chemosh are undone; for your sons are taken away captive and your daughters into captivity.

47 Н о в будущем Я верну Моаву благополучие, – возвещает Господь. Здесь кончается приговор Моаву.

Yet will I reverse the captivity and restore the fortunes of Moab in the latter days, says the Lord. Thus far is the judgment on Moab.
