1 Н апоминай людям о том, что они должны подчиняться начальству и властям и быть послушными и готовыми выполнить любое доброе дело.

Remind people to be submissive to magistrates and authorities, to be obedient, to be prepared and willing to do any upright and honorable work,

2 У чи их также не злословить никого, не быть задиристыми, но мягкими, и являть кротость в обращении со всеми людьми.

To slander or abuse or speak evil of no one, to avoid being contentious, to be forbearing (yielding, gentle, and conciliatory), and to show unqualified courtesy toward everybody.

3 М ы тоже когда-то были глупы, непокорны, обмануты и порабощены всевозможными страстями и удовольствиями. Нашу жизнь наполняли злоба и зависть, мы были отвратительны, ненавидя друг друга.

For we also were once thoughtless and senseless, obstinate and disobedient, deluded and misled; slaves to all sorts of cravings and pleasures, wasting our days in malice and jealousy and envy, hateful (hated, detestable) and hating one another.

4 Н о Бог, наш Спаситель, проявил к нам доброту и любовь.

But when the goodness and loving-kindness of God our Savior to man appeared,

5 О н спас нас не за наши праведные дела, которые мы совершили, а по Своей милости, через возрождающее омовение и обновление Святым Духом,

He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and mercy, by cleansing of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

6 К оторого щедро излил на нас через нашего Спасителя Иисуса Христа,

Which He poured out richly upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.

7 ч тобы мы, оправданные Его благодатью, стали наследниками вечной жизни, на которую мы надеемся. Избегай разделений

that we might be justified by His grace (by His favor, wholly undeserved),, and that we might become heirs of eternal life according to hope.

8 Э ти слова верны, и я хочу, чтобы ты подчеркивал эти истины, чтобы уверовавшие в Бога, посвятили себя добрым делам. Все это хорошо и полезно людям.

This message is most trustworthy, and concerning these things I want you to insist steadfastly, so that those who have believed in (trusted in, relied on) God may be careful to apply themselves to honorable occupations and to doing good, for such things are excellent and right, but good and profitable for the people.

9 И збегай глупых прений, пустых разговоров о родословиях, споров и ссор по поводу Закона: это не приносит пользы и не имеет смысла.

But avoid stupid and foolish controversies and genealogies and dissensions and wrangling about the Law, for they are unprofitable and futile.

10 Т ого, кто вызывает разделения, предупреди раз, другой, но больше времени на него не трать.

a man who is factious, after admonishing him a first and second time, reject,

11 Т акой человек уже полностью сбился с пути, грешит и этим сам себя осудил. Просьбы и заключительные приветствия

Well aware that such a person has utterly changed (is perverted and corrupted); he goes on sinning is convicted of guilt and self-condemned.

12 К огда я пошлю к тебе Артема или Тихика, постарайся прийти ко мне в Никополь, я решил там перезимовать.

When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, lose no time but make every effort to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.

13 П омоги, пожалуйста, юристу Зенасу и Аполлосу в их путешествии, позаботься о том, чтобы у них было все необходимое.

Do your utmost to speed Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way; see that they want for (lack) nothing.

14 П усть и наши учатся посвящать себя деланию добра ради удовлетворения необходимых нужд других, чтобы их жизнь не была бесплодной.

And let our own learn to apply themselves to good deeds (to honest labor and honorable employment), so that they may be able to meet necessary demands whenever the occasion may require and not be living idle and uncultivated and unfruitful lives.

15 В се, кто находится сейчас со мной, передают тебе приветы. Привет всем верующим, любящим нас. Благодать Бога пусть будет со всеми вами.
