1 D ies ist das Wort, das vom HERRN geschah zu Jeremia:

The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord:

2 S o spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Schreibe dir alle Worte in ein Buch, die ich zu dir rede.

Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Write all the words that I have spoken to you in a book.

3 D enn siehe, es kommt die Zeit, spricht der HERR, daß ich das Gefängnis meines Volkes Israel und Juda wenden will, spricht der HERR, und will sie wiederbringen in das Land, das ich ihren Vätern gegeben habe, daß sie es besitzen sollen.

For, note well, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will release from captivity My people Israel and Judah, says the Lord, and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they will possess it.

4 D ies sind aber die Worte, welche der HERR redet von Israel und Juda:

And these are the words the Lord spoke concerning Israel and Judah:

5 S o spricht der HERR: Wir hören ein Geschrei des Schreckens; es ist eitel Furcht da und kein Friede.

Thus says the Lord: We have heard a voice of trembling and panic—of terror, and not peace.

6 F orschet doch und sehet, ob ein Mann gebären könne? Wie geht es denn zu, daß ich alle Männer sehe ihre Hände auf ihren Hüften haben wie Weiber in Kindsnöten und alle Angesichter sind bleich?

Ask now and see whether a man can give birth to a child? Why then do I see every man with his hands on his loins like a woman in labor? Why are all faces turned pale?

7 E s ist ja ein großer Tag, und seinesgleichen ist nicht gewesen, und ist eine Zeit der Angst in Jakob; doch soll ihm daraus geholfen werden.

Alas! for that day will be great, so that none will be like it; it will be the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he will be saved out of it.

8 E s soll aber geschehen zu derselben Zeit, spricht der HERR Zebaoth, daß ich sein Joch von deinem Halse zerbrechen will und deine Bande zerreißen, daß er nicht mehr den Fremden dienen muß,

For it will come to pass in that day, says the Lord of hosts, that I will break yoke from your neck, and I will burst your bonds; and strangers will no more make slaves of.

9 s ondern sie werden dem HERRN, ihrem Gott, dienen und ihrem König David, welchen ich ihnen erwecken will.

But they will serve the Lord their God and David’s their King, Whom I will raise up for them.

10 D arum fürchte du dich nicht, mein Knecht Jakob, spricht der HERR, und entsetze dich nicht Israel. Denn siehe, ich will dir helfen aus fernen Landen und deinen Samen aus dem Lande des Gefängnisses, daß Jakob soll wiederkommen, in Frieden leben und Genüge haben, und niemand soll ihn schrecken.

Therefore fear not, O My servant Jacob, says the Lord, nor be dismayed or cast down, O Israel; for behold, I will save you out of a distant land and your posterity from the land of their captivity. Jacob will return and will be quiet and at ease, and none will make him afraid or cause him to be terrorized and to tremble.

11 D enn ich bin bei dir, spricht der HERR, daß ich dir helfe. Denn ich will mit allen Heiden ein Ende machen, dahin ich dich zerstreut habe; aber mit dir will ich nicht ein Ende machen; züchtigen aber will ich dich mit Maßen, daß du dich nicht für unschuldig haltest.

For I am with you, says the Lord, to save you; for I will make a full and complete end of all the nations to which I have scattered you, but I will not make a full and complete end of you. But I will correct you in measure and with judgment and will in no sense hold you guiltless or leave you unpunished.

12 D enn also spricht der HERR: Dein Schade ist verzweifelt böse, und deine Wunden sind unheilbar.

For thus says the Lord: Your hurt is incurable and your wound is grievous.

13 D eine Sache behandelt niemand, daß er dich verbände; es kann dich niemand heilen.

There is none to plead your cause; for your wound you have no healing, no binding plaster.

14 A lle deine Liebhaber vergessen dein, und fragen nichts darnach. Ich habe dich geschlagen, wie ich einen Feind schlüge, mit unbarmherziger Staupe um deiner großen Missetat und deiner starken Sünden willen.

All your lovers (allies) have forgotten you; they neither seek, inquire of, or require you. For I have hurt you with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel and merciless foe, because of the greatness of your perversity and guilt, because your sins are glaring and innumerable.

15 W as schreist du über deinen Schaden und über dein verzweifelt böses Leiden? Habe ich dir doch solches getan um deiner großen Missetat und um deiner starken Sünden willen.

Why do you cry out because of your hurt ? Your pain is deadly (incurable). Because of the greatness of your perversity and guilt, because your sins are glaring and innumerable, I have done these things to you.

16 D arum alle, die dich gefressen haben, sollen gefressen werden, und alle, die dich geängstet haben, sollen alle gefangen werden; die dich beraubt haben sollen beraubt werden, und alle, die dich geplündert haben, sollen geplündert werden.

Therefore all who devour you will be devoured; and all your adversaries, every one of them, will go into captivity. And they who despoil you will become a spoil, and all who prey upon you will I give for a prey.

17 A ber dich will ich wieder gesund machen und deine Wunden heilen, spricht der HERR, darum daß man dich nennt die Verstoßene und Zion, nach der niemand frage.

For I will restore health to you, and I will heal your wounds, says the Lord, because they have called you an outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no one seeks after and for whom no one cares!

18 S o spricht der HERR: Siehe, ich will das Gefängnis der Hütten Jakobs wenden und mich über seine Wohnungen erbarmen, und die Stadt soll wieder auf ihre Hügel gebaut werden, und der Tempel soll stehen nach seiner Weise.

Thus says the Lord: Behold, I will release from captivity the tents of Jacob and have mercy on his dwelling places; the city will be rebuilt on its own moundlike site, and the palace will be dwelt in after its former fashion.

19 U nd soll von dannen herausgehen Lob-und Freudengesang; denn ich will sie mehren und nicht mindern, ich will sie herrlich machen und nicht geringer.

Out of them will come songs of thanksgiving and the voices of those who make merry. And I will multiply them, and they will not be few; I will also glorify them, and they will not be small.

20 I hre Söhne sollen sein gleichwie vormals und ihre Gemeinde vor mir gedeihen; denn ich will heimsuchen alle, die sie plagen.

Their children too shall be as in former times, and their congregation shall be established before Me, and I will punish all who oppress them.

21 U nd ihr Fürst soll aus ihnen herkommen und ihr Herrscher von ihnen ausgehen, und er soll zu mir nahen; denn wer ist der, so mit willigem Herzen zu mir naht? spricht der HERR.

And their prince will be one of them, and their ruler will come from the midst of them. I will cause him to draw near and he will approach Me, for who is he who would have the boldness and would dare to approach Me? says the Lord.

22 U nd ihr sollt mein Volk sein, und ich will euer Gott sein.

Then you will be My people, and I will be your God.

23 S iehe, es wird ein Wetter des HERRN mit Grimm kommen; ein schreckliches Ungewitter wird den Gottlosen auf den Kopf fallen.

Behold, the tempest of the Lord has gone forth with wrath, a sweeping and gathering tempest; it shall whirl and burst upon the heads of the wicked.

24 D es HERRN grimmiger Zorn wird nicht nachlassen, bis er tue und ausrichte, was er im Sinn hat; zur letzten Zeit werdet ihr solches erfahren.

The fierce anger and indignation of the Lord shall not turn back until He has executed and accomplished the thoughts and intents of His mind and heart. In the latter days you shall understand this.
