1 U nd des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:

The word of the Lord came again to me, saying,

2 D u Menschenkind, weissage und sprich: So spricht der HERR HERR: Heult: "O weh des Tages!"

Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus says the Lord God: Wail, Alas for the day!

3 D enn der Tag ist nahe, ja, des HERRN Tag ist nahe, ein finsterer Tag; die Zeit der Heiden kommt.

For the day is near, even the day of the Lord is near, a cloudy day; it shall be the time for the nations.

4 U nd das Schwert soll über Ägypten kommen; und Mohrenland muß erschrecken, wenn die Erschlagenen in Ägypten fallen werden und sein Volk weggeführt und seine Grundfesten umgerissen werden.

And a sword shall come upon Egypt, and anguish and great sorrow shall be in Ethiopia (Cush), when the slain fall in Egypt and they carry away her great mass of people and of things and her foundations are broken down.

5 M ohrenland und Libyen und Lud mit allerlei Volk und Chub und die aus dem Lande des Bundes sind, sollen samt ihnen durchs Schwert fallen.

Ethiopia (Cush) and Put, Lud and all the mingled people, Cub (Lub, Libya) and the children of the land of the covenant shall fall with by the sword.

6 S o spricht der HERR: Die Schutzherren Ägyptens müssen fallen, und die Hoffart seiner Macht muß herunter; von Migdol bis gen Syene sollen sie durchs Schwert fallen, spricht der HERR HERR.

Thus says the Lord: They also who uphold or lean upon and are supported by Egypt shall fall, and the pride of her power shall come down; from Migdol to Syene they shall fall within her by the sword, says the Lord God.

7 U nd sie sollen wie andere wüste Länder wüst werden, und ihre Städte unter andren wüsten Städten wüst liegen,

And they shall be desolated in the midst of countries that are desolated, and her cities shall be in the midst of cities that are wasted.

8 d aß sie erfahren, daß ich der HERR sei, wenn ich ein Feuer in Ägypten mache, daß alle, die ihnen helfen, verstört werden.

And they shall know (understand and realize) that I am the Lord, when I have set a fire in Egypt and all her helpers are broken and destroyed.

9 Z ur selben Zeit werden Boten von mir ausziehen in Schiffen, Mohrenland zu schrecken, das jetzt so sicher ist; und wird ein Schrecken unter ihnen sein, gleich wie es Ägypten ging, da seine Zeit kam; denn siehe, es kommt gewiß.

In that day shall messengers go forth from Me in ships to terrify the careless and unsuspecting Ethiopians, and there shall be anguish and great sorrow upon them as in the day of Egypt’s, for behold, comes!

10 S o spricht der HERR HERR: Ich will die Menge in Ägypten wegräumen durch Nebukadnezar, den König zu Babel.

Thus says the Lord God: I will also make the tumult and the wealth and the large population of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon.

11 D enn er und sein Volk mit ihm, die Tyrannen der Heiden, sind herzugebracht, das Land zu verderben, und werden ihre Schwerter ausziehen wider Ägypten, daß das Land allenthalben voll Erschlagener liege.

He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought in to destroy the land, and they shall draw their swords against Egypt and fill the land with the slain.

12 U nd ich will die Wasserströme trocken machen und das Land bösen Leuten verkaufen, und will das Land und was darin ist, durch Fremde verwüsten. Ich, der HERR, habe es geredet.

And I will make the streams dry and will sell the land into the hand of evil men, and I will make the land desolate, and all that is in it, by the hand of strangers. I the Lord have spoken it.

13 S o spricht der HERR HERR: Ich will die Götzen zu Noph ausrotten und die Abgötter vertilgen, und Ägypten soll keinen Fürsten mehr haben, und ich will einen Schrecken in Ägyptenland schicken.

Thus says the Lord God: I will also destroy the idols and I will put an end to the images in Noph or Memphis, and there shall be no longer a prince of the land of Egypt. And I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

14 I ch will Pathros wüst machen und ein Feuer zu Zoan anzünden und das Recht über No gehen lassen

And I will make Pathros desolate and will set fire to Zoan and will execute judgments and punishments upon No or Thebes.

15 u nd will meinen Grimm ausschütten über Sin, die Festung Ägyptens, und will die Menge zu No ausrotten.

And I will pour My wrath upon Pelusium, the stronghold of Egypt, and I will cut off the tumult, the prosperity and the population of No or Thebes.

16 I ch will ein Feuer in Ägypten anzünden, und Sin soll angst und bange werden, und No soll zerrissen und Noph täglich geängstet werden.

And I will set fire to Egypt; Pelusium shall have great anguish and No or Thebes shall be torn open and Noph or Memphis shall have adversaries in the daytime and all the day long.

17 D ie junge Mannschaft zu On und Bubastus sollen durchs Schwert fallen und die Weiber gefangen weggeführt werden.

The young men of Aven or On and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword, and the shall go into captivity.

18 T hachphanhes wird einen finstern Tag haben, wenn ich das Joch Ägyptens daselbst zerbrechen werde, daß die Hoffart seiner Macht darin ein Ende habe; sie wird mit Wolken bedeckt werden, und ihre Töchter werden gefangen weggeführt werden.

At Tehaphnehes also the day shall withdraw itself and be dark when I break there the yokes and dominion of Egypt, and the pride of her power shall come to an end. As for her, a cloud shall cover her and her daughters shall go into captivity.

19 U nd ich will das Recht über Ägypten gehen lassen, daß sie erfahren, daß ich der HERR sei.

Thus will I execute judgments and punishments upon Egypt. Then shall they know (understand and realize) that I am the Lord.

20 U nd es begab sich im elften Jahr, am siebenten Tage des elften Monats, geschah des HERRN Wort zu mir und sprach:

And in the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

21 D u Menschenkind, ich habe den Arm Pharaos, des Königs von Ägypten, zerbrochen; und siehe, er soll nicht verbunden werden, daß er heilen möge, noch mit Binden zugebunden werden, daß er stark werde und ein Schwert fassen könne.

Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and behold, it has not been bound up to heal it by binding it with a bandage, to make it strong to hold and wield the sword.

22 D arum spricht der HERR HERR also: Siehe, ich will an Pharao, den König von Ägypten, und will seine Arme zerbrechen, beide, den starken und den zerbrochenen, daß ihm das Schwert aus seiner Hand entfallen muß;

Therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt and will break his arms, both the strong one and the one which was broken, and I will cause the sword to fall from his hand.

23 u nd ich will die Ägypter unter die Heiden zerstreuen und in die Länder verjagen.

And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and will disperse them throughout the countries.

24 A ber die Arme des Königs zu Babel will ich stärken und ihm mein Schwert in seine Hand geben, und will die Arme Pharaos zerbrechen, daß er vor ihm winseln soll wie ein tödlich Verwundeter.

And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put My sword in his hand, but I will break Pharaoh’s arms and he will groan before with the groanings of a mortally wounded man.

25 J a, ich will die Arme des Königs zu Babel stärken, daß die Arme Pharaos dahinfallen, auf daß sie erfahren, daß ich der HERR sei, wenn ich mein Schwert dem König zu Babel in die Hand gebe, daß er's über Ägyptenland zücke,

But I will strengthen and hold up the arms of the king of Babylon and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down, and they shall know (understand and realize) that I am the Lord, when I put My sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he shall stretch it out upon the land of Egypt.

26 u nd ich die Ägypter unter die Heiden zerstreue und in die Länder verjage, daß sie erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin.

And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them through the countries, and they shall know (understand and realize) that I am the Lord.
