1 І було мені слово Господнє таке:

Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

2 А ти, сину людський, послухай: Отак Господь Бог промовляє до Краю Ізраїлевого: Кінець, надійшов той кінець на чотири окрайки землі!

Also, son of man, thus says the Lord God to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land.

3 Н а тебе тепер цей кінець, і пошлю Я на тебе Свій гнів, і тебе розсуджу за твоїми дорогами, і на тебе складу всі гидоти твої.

Now is the end upon you, and I will send My anger upon you and will judge you according to your ways and will bring upon you retribution for all your abominations.

4 І око Моє над тобою не змилується, і милосердя не буду Я мати, бо дороги твої Я на тебе складу, а гидоти твої серед тебе зостануть, і пізнаєте ви, що Я то Господь!

And My eye will not spare you, neither will I have pity; but I will bring recompense for your evil ways upon you, while your abominations are in the midst of you; and you shall know (recognize, understand, and realize) that I am the Lord.

5 О так Господь Бог промовляє: Ось приходить біда на біду!

Thus says the Lord God: Behold, an evil is coming, only one evil.

6 П риходить кінець, приходить кінець, він збудився на тебе, приходить ось він!

An end has come! The end has come! awakes against you. See, it has come!

7 Н адійшла твоя доля для тебе, о мешканче Краю, приходить цей час, близький той день заколоту, нема на горах крику радости...

Your turn (your doom) has come upon you, O inhabitant of the land; the time has come, the day is near, a day not of joyful shouting, but a day of tumult upon the mountains.

8 Т епер лютість Свою незабаром Я виллю на тебе, і Свій гнів докінчу проти тебе, і тебе осуджу за твоїми дорогами, і на тебе складу всі гидоти твої!

Now will I shortly pour out My wrath upon you and finish spending My anger against you, and I will judge you according to your ways and will recompense you with punishment for all your abominations.

9 І око Моє над тобою не змилується, і милосердя не буду Я мати, бо дороги твої Я на тебе складу, а гидоти твої серед тебе залишаться, і пізнаєте ви, що Я Господь, що карає!

And My eye will not spare, nor will I have pity. I will punish you according to your ways while your abominations are right in the midst of you. And you shall know, understand, and realize that it is I the Lord Who smites you.

10 О сь той день, ось приходить, доля виходить, виростає кий, розцвітає пиха,

Behold, the day! Behold, it has come! Your doom has gone forth, the rod has blossomed, pride has budded.

11 р озвилося насильство для кия безбожности! Нічого із них не залишиться: ані з численности їхньої, ані з їхнього заворушення, ані з їхньої пишноти...

Violence has grown up into a rod of wickedness; none of shall remain, none of their abundance, none of their wealth; neither shall there be preeminence among them or wailing for them.

12 Н адходить той час, наближається день... Хто купує, нехай не радіє, а хто продає, хай не буде в жалобі, бо сунеться лютість на все многолюддя його!

The time has come, the day draws near. Let not the buyer rejoice nor the seller mourn, for wrath is upon all their multitude.

13 Б о до проданого не повернеться вже продавець, хоча б залишився при житті між живими, бо пророцтво про все многолюддя їхнє не відміниться, і ніхто беззаконням своїм не зміцнить свого життя...

For the seller shall not return to that which is sold, even were they yet alive. For the vision is touching whole multitude; he shall not come back, neither shall any strengthen himself whose life is in his iniquity.

14 З асурмлять у сурму та все приготують, та не піде ніхто на війну, бо на все многолюддя його Моя лютість!

They have blown the trumpet and have made all ready, but none goes to the battle, for My wrath is upon all their multitude.

15 Н а вулиці меч, моровиця ж та голод у домі, хто на полі помре від меча, з хто в місті зжере того голод та мор...

The sword is without and pestilence and famine are within. He who is in the field shall die by the sword, and him who is in the city shall famine and pestilence devour.

16 І врятовані з них повтікають, і будуть на горах, немов голуби із долин, всі будуть стогнати, кожен за гріх свій...

But those of them that escape shall escape, but shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, every one in his iniquity’s.

17 У сі руки ослабнуть, затремтять, як вода, всі коліна,

All hands shall be feeble and all knees shall be weak as water.

18 і веретами попідперізуються, і покриє їх страх, і на кожнім лиці буде сором, а на всіх головах їхніх жалобна та лисина...

They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth; horror and dismay shall cover them, and shame shall be upon all faces and baldness upon all their heads.

19 В они повикидають на вулицю срібло своє, і за ніщо їхнє золото стане, їхнє срібло та золото їхнє не буде могти врятувати їх у день гніву Господнього, ним не наситять своєї душі й свого нутра вони не наповнять, бо їхня провина була перешкодою!

They shall cast their silver into the streets, and their gold shall be like an unclean thing or rubbish; their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord; they shall not satisfy their animal cravings nor fill their stomachs with them, for has been the stumbling block of their iniquity.

20 А гордість вчинили за славну оздобу свою, у ній наробили бовванів гидоти своєї й обриджень своїх, тому їм оберну Я її на нечистість,

As for the beauty of gold for ornament, they turned it to pride and made of it the images of their abominations (idols) and of their detestable things. Therefore I will make it to them as an unclean thing.

21 і віддам її в руку чужих на грабунок, а нечестивим землі на здобич...

And I will give it for plunder into the hands of strangers and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil, and they shall profane it.

22 І обличчя Своє відверну Я від них, і вони побезчестять Мій скарб, і ввійдуть до нього насильники та й побезчестять його...

Also I will turn My face from them and they shall profane My secret treasure; and robbers shall enter into it and profane it.

23 З роби ланцюга, бо земля переповнилась правом кривавим, а місто насильством наповнилось...

Prepare the chain, for the land is full of bloodguiltiness and the city is full of violence.

24 І наведу Я найзліших із народів, і посядуть вони доми їхні, і гордість вельможних спиню, і святощі їхні побезчещені будуть!

Therefore I will bring in the worst of the nations, who will take possession of the houses; I will also silence their strongholds and put an end to their proud might, and their holy places and those who sanctify them shall be profaned.

25 З агибіль іде, й вони будуть шукати спокою та не буде його...

Distress, panic, and destruction shall come, and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.

26 П рийде біда до біди, й буде звістка до звістки, і будуть шукати пророцтва в пророка, та згине Закон у священиків і рада у старших...

Calamity shall come upon calamity and rumor shall be upon rumor, and they shall seek a vision of the prophet; and the law and instruction shall cease from the priest and counsel from the elders.

27 Ц ар буде в жалобі, і страхом зодягнеться князь, а руки народу землі затремтять... За дорогами їхніми їм учиню, і судитиму їх їхніми судами, і пізнають, що Я то Господь!

The king shall wear mourning and the prince shall clothe himself with garments of despair and desolation, while the hands of the people of the land shall tremble; for I will do to them in accordance with their ways, and according to their deserts will I judge them; and they shall know, recognize, and realize that I am the Lord.
