1 L ại có lời của Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán cùng ta rằng:

And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying,

2 Đ ức Giê-hô-va vạn quân có phán như vầy: Ta đã nổi ghen vì Si-ôn bởi một cơn ghen lớn, ta đã nổi ghen vì nó bởi cơn tức giận lớn.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath.

3 Đ ức Giê-hô-va phán như vầy: Ta đã xây lại cùng Si-ôn, và ta sẽ ở giữa Giê-ru-sa-lem; Giê-ru-sa-lem sẽ được gọi là thành chơn thật; núi của Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân sẽ được gọi là núi thánh.

Thus says the Lord: I shall return to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the Lord of hosts, the Holy Mountain.

4 Đ ức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán như vầy: Sẽ còn có những ông già, bà già ở trong các đường phố Giê-ru-sa-lem, ai nấy sẽ cầm gậy nơi tay, vì cớ mình cao tuổi.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: Old men and old women shall again dwell in Jerusalem and sit out in the streets, every man with his staff in his hand for very age.

5 C ác đường phố trong thành sẽ đầy những con trai con gái vui chơi trong đó.

And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets.

6 Đ ức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán như vầy: Trong những ngày đó, dầu những sự ấy coi như lạ lùng cho mắt ta sao? Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán vậy.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: Because it will be marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in My eyes? says the Lord of hosts.

7 Đ ức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán như vầy: Nầy, ta sẽ giải cứu dân ta từ phương đông phương tây,

Thus says the Lord of hosts: Behold, I will save My people from the east country and from the west.

8 v à đem chúng nó đến, chúng nó sẽ ở giữa Giê-ru-sa-lem, làm dân của ta, còn ta sẽ làm Đức Chúa Trời chúng nó trong sự chơn thật và công bình.

And I will bring them and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God in truth and faithfulness and in righteousness.

9 Đ ức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán như vầy: Các ngươi là kẻ, đương những ngày nầy, nghe các lời ấy từ miệng các tiên tri trong ngày mà nhà Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, tức là đền thờ, đã được lập nền để xây lên, thì các ngươi khá làm tay mình nên mạnh.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: Let your hands be strong and hardened, you who in these days hear these words from the mouths of the prophets who on the day that the foundation of the house of the Lord of hosts was laid foretold that the temple should be rebuilt.

10 V ì chưng trước những ngày đó chẳng có tiền công cho người ta, cũng chẳng có tiền công cho thú vật; và vì cớ kẻ cừu địch, thì chẳng có sự bình an cho kẻ ra người vào; vì ta đã khiến mọi người ai nầy nghịch cùng kẻ lân cận mình.

For before those days there was no hire for man nor any hire for beast, neither was there any peace or success to him who went out or came in because of the adversary and oppressor, for I set (let loose) all men, every one against his neighbor.

11 N hưng bây giờ ta sẽ không đãi những kẻ sót lại của dân nầy như trước, Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán vậy.

But now I am not to the remnant of this people as in the former days, says the Lord of hosts.

12 V ì ở đó sẽ có hột giống bình an; cây nho sẽ sanh trái, và đất sẽ sanh hoa lợi, các từng trời sẽ sa móc xuống, ta sẽ làm cho những kẻ sót lại của dân nầy được hưởng mọi sự đó.

For there shall the seed produce peace and prosperity; the vine shall yield her fruit and the ground shall give its increase and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit and possess all these things.

13 H ỡi nhà Giu-đa và nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên! sẽ xảy ra như các ngươi đã làm sự rủa sả trong các nước thể nào, thì ta sẽ cứu các ngươi, và các ngươi sẽ làm sự chúc phước thể ấy. Các ngươi chớ sợ hãi, song hãy làm cho tay mình nên mạnh!

And as you have been a curse and a byword among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing. Fear not, but let your hands be strong and hardened.

14 V ì Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán như vầy: Như ta đã toan giáng tai vạ cho các ngươi, khi tổ phụ các ngươi chọc giận ta, và ta không ăn năn, Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán vậy,

For thus says the Lord of hosts: As I thought to bring calamity upon you when your fathers provoked Me to wrath, says the Lord of hosts, and I did not relent or revoke your sentence,

15 t hì ngày nay cũng vậy, ta lại đã toan làm ơn cho Giê-ru-sa-lem và cho nhà Giu-đa: các ngươi chớ sợ chi!

So again have I purposed in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Fear not!

16 N ầy là những sự các ngươi phải làm: Ai nấy khá lấy điều thật nói cùng kẻ lân cận mình; hãy làm sự chơn thật và sự phán xét bình an trong cửa thành các ngươi.

These are the things that you shall do: speak every man the truth with his neighbor; render the truth and pronounce the judgment or verdict that makes for peace in your gates.

17 C hớ toan sự dữ trong lòng nghịch cùng kẻ lân cận; và chớ ưa sự thề dối, vì ấy đó là những điều mà ta ghét, Đức Giê-hô-va phán vậy.

And let none of you think or imagine or devise evil or injury in your hearts against his neighbor, and love no false oath, for all these things I hate, says the Lord.

18 Đ oạn, có lời của Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán cùng ta, mà rằng:

And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying,

19 Đ ức Giê-hô-va vạn quân có phán như vầy: Sự kiêng ăn về tháng tư, sự kiêng ăn về tháng năm, sự kiêng ăn về tháng bảy, sự kiêng ăn về tháng mười sẽ làm sự vui mừng hớn hở, và ngày lễ vui chơi cho nhà Giu-đa. Vậy hãy ưa sự chơn thật và bình an.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: The fast of the fourth month and the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventh and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah times of joy and gladness and cheerful, appointed seasons; therefore love truth and peace.

20 Đ ức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán như vầy: Sẽ xảy ra các dân và dân cư nhiều thành đều đến,

Thus says the Lord of hosts: It shall yet come to pass that there shall come peoples and the inhabitants of many and great cities,

21 v à dân cư thành nầy đi đến thành khác mà nói rằng: Chúng ta hãy đi mau, đặng nài xin ơn Đức Giê-hô-va, và tìm kiếm Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân; ta cũng sẽ đi.

And the inhabitants of one city shall go to them of another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray and entreat the favor of the Lord and to seek, inquire of, and require the Lord of hosts. I will go also.

22 N hư vậy có nhiều dân và nhiều nước mạnh sẽ đến tìm kiếm Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, và ở đó nài xin ơn Đức Giê-hô-va.

Yes, many people and strong nations shall come to Jerusalem to seek, inquire of, and require the Lord of hosts and to pray to the Lord for His favor.

23 Đ ức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán như vầy: Sẽ xảy ra trong những ngày đó, có mười người từ mọi thứ tiếng trong các nước ra, nắm chặt vạt áo của một người Giu-đa, mà nói rằng: Chúng ta sẽ đi cùng các ngươi, vì chúng ta có nghe rằng Đức Giê-hô-va ở cùng các ngươi.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: In those days ten men out of all languages of the nations shall take hold of the robe of him who is a Jew, saying, Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.
