1 H ỡi Đức Giê-hô-va, xin hãy giải cứu tôi khỏi kẻ ác, Bảo hộ tôi khỏi người hung bạo,

Deliver me, O Lord, from evil men; preserve me from violent men;

2 L à kẻ toan mưu ác nơi lòng: Hằng ngày chúng nó hiệp lại đặng tranh chiến.

They devise mischiefs in their heart; continually they gather together and stir up wars.

3 C húng nó mài nhọn lưỡi mình như rắn, Có nọc độc rắn hổ trong môi mình.

They sharpen their tongues like a serpent’s; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah!

4 H ỡi Đức Giê-hô-va, xin hãy giữ tôi khỏi tay kẻ ác, Bảo hộ tôi khỏi người hung bạo, Là kẻ toan mưu làm bước tôi vấp ngã.

Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent men who have purposed to thrust aside my steps.

5 N hững kẻ kiêu ngạo đã gài bẫy và trăng dây cho tôi, Giương lưới dọc dài theo đường; Chúng nó cũng đặt vòng gài tôi.

The proud have hidden a snare for me; they have spread cords as a net by the wayside, they have set traps for me. Selah!

6 T ôi thưa cùng Đức Giê-hô-va rằng: Ngài là Đức Chúa Trời tôi. Đức Giê-hô-va ôi! Xin lắng tai nghe tiếng nài xin của tôi.

I said to the Lord, You are my God; give ear to the voice of my supplications, O Lord.

7 H ỡi Chúa Giê-hô-va, là sức lực về sự cứu rỗi tôi, Chúa che chở đầu tôi trong ngày chiến trận.

O God the Lord, the Strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle.

8 H ỡi Đức Giê-hô-va, xin chớ ứng hoàn sự ước ao kẻ ác; Chớ giúp thành mưu kế nó, e nó tự cao chăng.

Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked; further not their wicked plot and device, lest they exalt themselves. Selah!

9 N guyện sự gian ác của môi những kẻ vây tôi Bao phủ đầu chúng nó!

Those who are fencing me in raise their heads; may the mischief of their own lips and the very things they desire for me come upon them.

10 N guyện than lửa đỏ đổ trên chúng nó! Nguyện chúng nó bị quăng vào lửa, Trong nước sâu, chẳng cất dậy được nữa!

Let burning coals fall upon them; let them be cast into the fire, into floods of water or deep water pits, from which they shall not rise.

11 N gười nào có lưỡi gian trá chẳng được vững lập trong xứ; Tai họa sẽ đuổi theo kẻ hung bạo đặng đánh đổ hắn.

Let not a man of slanderous tongue be established in the earth; let evil hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

12 T ôi biết rằng Đức Giê-hô-va sẽ binh vực duyên cớ kẻ khổ nạn, Đoán xét công bình cho người thiếu thốn.

I know and rest in confidence upon it that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and will secure justice for the poor and needy.

13 N gười công bình hẳn sẽ cảm tạ danh Chúa; Người ngay thẳng sẽ ở trước mặt Chúa.

Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence (before Your very face).
