1 V ậy thì, hỡi anh em rất yêu rất thiết, là sự vui mừng và mão triều thiên cho tôi, kẻ rất yêu dấu ơi, hãy đứng vững trong Chúa.

Therefore, my brethren, whom I love and yearn to see, my delight and crown (wreath of victory), thus stand firm in the Lord, my beloved.

2 T ôi khuyên Ê-yô-đi và khuyên Sin-ty-cơ phải hiệp một ý trong Chúa.

I entreat and advise Euodia and I entreat and advise Syntyche to agree and to work in harmony in the Lord.

3 H ỡi kẻ đồng liêu trung tín, tôi cũng xin anh giúp hai người đờn bà ấy, nhơn bai bà ấy cùng tôi đã vì đạo Tin Lành mà chiến đấu; Cơ-lê-măn và các bạn khác đồng làm việc với tôi cũng vậy, có tên những người đó biên vào sách sự sống rồi.

And I exhort you too, genuine yokefellow, help these, for they have toiled along with me in the good news (the Gospel), as have Clement and the rest of my fellow workers whose names are in the Book of Life.

4 H ãy vui mừng trong Chúa luôn luôn. Tôi lại còn nói nữa: hãy vui mừng đi.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, Rejoice!

5 H ãy cho mọi người đều biết nết nhu mì của anh em. Chúa đã gần rồi.

Let all men know and perceive and recognize your unselfishness (your considerateness, your forbearing spirit). The Lord is near '> coming soon].

6 C hớ lo phiền chi hết, nhưng trong mọi sự hãy dùng lời cầu nguyện, nài xin, và sự tạ ơn và trình các sự cầu xin của mình cho Đức Chúa Trời.

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition ( definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

7 S ự bình an của Đức Chúa Trời vượt quá mọi sự hiểu biết, sẽ gìn giữ lòng và ý tưởng anh em trong Đức Chúa Jêsus Christ.

And God’s peace '> tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

8 R ốt lại, hỡi anh em, phàm điều cho chơn thật, điều chi đáng tôn, điều chi công bình, điều chi thánh sạch, điều chi đáng yêu chuộng, điều chi có tiếng tốt, điều chi có nhân đức đáng khen, thì anh em phải nghĩ đến.

For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things.

9 H ễ sự gì anh em đã học, đã nhận, đã nghe ở nơi tôi và đã thấy trong tôi, hãy làm đi, thì Đức Chúa Trời của sự bình an sẽ ở cùng anh em.

Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it, and the God of peace (of untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you.

10 T ôi được rất vui mừng trong Chúa, vì nay anh em lại lo tưởng về tôi lần nữa; anh em vẫn tưởng đến điều đó lắm, nhưng không có dịp tiện.

I was made very happy in the Lord that now you have revived your interest in my welfare after so long a time; you were indeed thinking of me, but you had no opportunity to show it.

11 K hông phải tôi muốn nói đến sự cần dùng của tôi; vì tôi đã tập hễ gặp cảnh ngộ nào, cũng thỏa lòng ở vậy.

Not that I am implying that I was in any personal want, for I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am.

12 T ôi biết chịu nghèo hèn, cũng biết được dư dật. Trong mọi sự và mọi nơi, tôi đã tập cả, dầu no hay đói, dầu dư hay thiếu cũng được.

I know how to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances, and I know also how to enjoy plenty and live in abundance. I have learned in any and all circumstances the secret of facing every situation, whether well-fed or going hungry, having a sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being in want.

13 T ôi làm được mọi sự nhờ Đấng ban thêm sức cho tôi.

I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me '> infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].

14 N hưng anh em giúp tôi cơn hoạn nạn, thì đã làm điều thiện.

But it was right and commendable and noble of you to contribute for my needs and to share my difficulties with me.

15 H ỡi người Phi-líp, anh em cũng biết rằng lúc tôi khởi giảng Tin Lành trong khi lìa xứ Ma-xê-đoan, thi ngoài hội thánh của anh em, chẳng có hội nào khác hiệp với tôi để lập thành sự trao đổi trong chúng ta cả;

And you Philippians yourselves well know that in the early days of the Gospel ministry, when I left Macedonia, no church (assembly) entered into partnership with me and opened up account in giving and receiving except you only.

16 v ì tại Tê-sa-lô-ni-ca, anh em đã một hai lần gởi đồ cung cấp về sự cần dùng cho tôi vậy.

For even in Thessalonica you sent for my needs, not only once but a second time.

17 A áy không phải tôi cầu lễ vật, nhưng cầu sự kết quả nhiều bởi lễ vật đến cho anh em.

Not that I seek or am eager for gift, but I do seek and am eager for the fruit which increases to your credit.

18 V ậy, tôi đã nhận được hết, và đương dư dật; tôi được đầy dẫy vì đã nhận đồ nơi E

But I have and more; I have everything I need and am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent me. fragrant odor of an offering and sacrifice which God welcomes and in which He delights.

19 Đ ức Chúa Trời tôi sẽ làm cho đầy đủ mọi sự cần dùng của anh em y theo sự giàu có của Ngài ở nơi vinh hiển trong Đức Chúa Jêsus Christ.

And my God will liberally supply ( fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

20 N guyền xin sự vinh hiển về nơi Đức Chúa Trời, là Cha chúng ta, đời đời vô cùng! A-men.

To our God and Father be glory forever and ever (through the endless eternities of the eternities). Amen (so be it).

21 H ãy chào hết thảy các thánh đồ trong Đức Chúa Jêsus Christ; các anh em ở cùng tôi chào anh em

Remember me to every saint (every born-again believer) in Christ Jesus. The brethren (my associates) who are with me greet you.

22 H ết thảy các thánh đồ chào anh em, nhứt là về người nhà Sê-sa.

All the saints (God’s consecrated ones here) wish to be remembered to you, especially those of Caesar’s household.

23 N guyền xin ân điển của Đức Chúa Jêsus Christ ở trong lòng anh em!

The grace (spiritual favor and blessing) of the Lord Jesus Christ (the Anointed One) be with your spirit. Amen (so be it).
