1 Đ ức Chúa Jêsus vừa ngó lên, thấy những kẻ giàu bỏ tiền lễ vào rương,

Looking up, saw the rich people putting their gifts into the treasury.

2 l ại thấy một mụ góa nghèo bỏ vào hai đồng tiền.

And He saw also a poor widow putting in two mites (copper coins).

3 N gài phán rằng: Quả thật, ta nói cùng các ngươi, mụ góa nghèo nầy đã bỏ vào nhiều hơn hết mọi người khác.

And He said, Truly I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them;

4 V ì mọi người kia đều lấy của dư mình mà làm của dâng; nhưng mụ nầy thiếu thốn, mà đã dâng hết của mình có để nuôi mình.

For they all gave out of their abundance (their surplus); but she has contributed out of her lack and her want, putting in all that she had on which to live.

5 C ó mấy người nói về đền thờ, về đá đẹp và đồ dâng làm rực rỡ trong đền thờ. Đức Chúa Jêsus phán rằng:

And as some were saying of the temple that it was decorated with handsome (shapely and magnificent) stones and consecrated offerings '> laid up to be kept], He said,

6 N hững ngày sẽ đến, mọi điều các ngươi ngó thấy đây, sẽ không còn một hòn đá nào chồng trên hòn khác mà không đổ xuống.

As for all this that you look at, the time will come when there shall not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.

7 H ọ bèn hỏi Ngài rằng: Lạy thầy, vậy việc đó chừng nào sẽ xảy đến, và có điềm gì cho người ta biết rằng việc gần xảy đến không?

And they asked Him, Teacher, when will this happen? And what sign will there be when this is about to occur?

8 N gài đáp rằng: Các ngươi hãy giữ, kẻo bị cám dỗ; vì có nhiều người sẽ mạo danh ta mà đến, và nói rằng: Aáy chính ta là Đấng Christ, thì giờ đã đến gần. Các ngươi đừng theo họ.

And He said, Be on your guard and be careful that you are not led astray; for many will come in My name '> appropriating to themselves the name Messiah which belongs to Me], saying, I am He! and, The time is at hand! Do not go out after them.

9 L ại khi các ngươi nghe nói về giặc giã loạn lạc, thì đừng kinh khiếp, vì các điều đó phải đến trước; nhưng chưa phải cuối cùng liền đâu.

And when you hear of wars and insurrections (disturbances, disorder, and confusion), do not become alarmed and panic-stricken and terrified; for all this must take place first, but the end will not immediately.

10 N gài cũng phán cùng họ rằng: Dân nầy sẽ dấy lên nghịch cùng dân khác, nước nó nghịch cùng nước kia;

Then He told them, Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

11 s ẽ có sự động đất lớn, có đói kém và dịch lệ trong nhiều nơi, có những điềm lạ kinh khiếp và dấu lớn ở trên trời.

There will be mighty and violent earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences (plagues: malignant and contagious or infectious epidemic diseases which are deadly and devastating); and there will be sights of terror and great signs from heaven.

12 S ong trước những điều đó thiên hạ sẽ vì cớ danh ta mà tra tay bắt bớ các ngươi, nộp tại các nhà hội, bỏ vào ngục, kéo đến trước mặt các vua và các quan tổng đốc.

But previous to all this, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, turning you over to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be led away before kings and governors for My name’s sake.

13 Đ ều ấy xảy ra cho các ngươi để làm chứng cớ.

This will be a time (an opportunity) for you to bear testimony.

14 V ậy các ngươi hãy nhớ kĩ trong trí, đừng lo trước về sự binh vực mình thể nào.

Resolve and settle it in your minds not to meditate and prepare beforehand how you are to make your defense and how you will answer.

15 V ì ta sẽ ban cho các ngươi lời lẽ và sự khôn ngoan, mà kẻ nghịch không chống cự và bẻ bác được.

For I will give you a mouth and such utterance and wisdom that all of your foes combined will be unable to stand against or refute.

16 C ác ngươi cũng sẽ bị cha, mẹ, anh, em, bà con, bạn hữu mình nộp mình; và họ sẽ làm cho nhiều người trong các ngươi phải chết.

You will be delivered up and betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and of you they will put to death.

17 C ác ngươi sẽ vì cớ danh ta bị mọi người ghen ghét.

And you will be hated (despised) by everyone because My name and for its sake.

18 N hưng một sợi tóc trên đầu các ngươi cũng không mất đâu.

But not a hair of your head shall perish.

19 N hờ sự nhịn nhục của các ngươi mà giữ được linh hồn mình.

By your steadfastness and patient endurance you shall win the true life of your souls.

20 V ả, khi các ngươi sẽ thấy quân lính vây thành Giê-ru-sa-lem, hãy biết sự tàn phá thành ấy gần đến.

But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know and understand that its desolation has come near.

21 L úc đó, ai ở trong xứ Giu-đê hãy trốn lên núi; ai ở trong thành phải đi ra ngoài, ai ở ngoài đồng đừng trở vào thành.

Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside get out of it, and let not those who are out in the country come into it;

22 V ì những ngày đó là ngày báo thù, hầu cho mọi lời đã chép được ứng nghiệm.

For those are days of vengeance, that all things that are written may be fulfilled.

23 T rong những ngày ấy, khốn cho đờn bà có thai, và đờn bà cho con bú! Vì sẽ có tại nạn lớn trong xứ, và cơn thạnh nộ nghịch cùng dân nầy.

Alas for those who are pregnant and for those who have babies which they are nursing in those days! For great misery and anguish and distress shall be upon the land and indignation and punishment and retribution upon this people.

24 H ọ sẽ bị ngã dưới lưỡi gươm, sẽ bị đem đi làm phu tù giữa các dân ngoại, thành Giê-ru-sa-lem sẽ bị dân ngoại giày đạp, cho đến chừng nào các kỳ dân ngoại được trọn.

They will fall by the mouth and the edge of the sword and will be led away as captives to and among all nations; and Jerusalem will be trodden down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled (completed).

25 S ẽ có các điềm lạ trong mặt trời, mặt trăng, cùng các ngôi sao; còn dưới đất, dân các nước sầu não rối loạn vì biển nổi tiếng om sòm và sóng đào.

And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars; and upon the earth distress (trouble and anguish) of nations in bewilderment and perplexity '> without resources, left wanting, embarrassed, in doubt, not knowing which way to turn] at the roaring ( the echo) of the tossing of the sea,

26 N gười ta nhơn trong khi đợi việc hung dữ xảy ra cho thế gian, thì thất kinh mất vía, vì các thế lực trên trời sẽ rúng động.

Men swooning away or expiring with fear and dread and apprehension and expectation of the things that are coming on the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken and caused to totter.

27 B ấy giờ thiên hạ sẽ thấy Con người dùng đại quyền đại vinh mà ngự đến trên đám mây.

And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with great (transcendent and overwhelming) power and glory (majesty and splendor).

28 C hừng nào các việc đó khỏi xảy đến, hãy đứng thẳng lên, ngước đầu lên, vì sự giải cứu của các ngươi gần tới.

Now when these things begin to occur, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption (deliverance) is drawing near.

29 Đ oạn, Ngài phán cùng họ một lời ví dụ rằng: Hãy xem cây vả và các cây khác;

And He told them a parable: Look at the fig tree and all the trees;

30 k hi nó mới nứt lộc, các ngươi thấy thì tự biết rằng mùa hạ đã gần đến.

When they put forth their buds and come out in leaf, you see for yourselves and perceive and know that summer is already near.

31 C ũng vậy, khi các ngươi thấy những điều ấy xảy ra, hãy biết nước Đức Chúa Trời gần đến.

Even so, when you see these things taking place, understand and know that the kingdom of God is at hand.

32 Q uả thật, ta nói cùng các ngươi, dòng dõi nầy chẳng qua trước khi mọi sự kia chưa xảy đến.

Truly I tell you, this generation ( those living at that definite period of time) will not perish and pass away until all has taken place.

33 T rời đất sẽ qua, song lời ta nói sẽ không qua đâu.

The sky and the earth ( the universe, the world) will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

34 V ậy, hãy tự giữ lấy mình, e rằng vì sự ăn uống quá độ, sự say sưa và sự lo lắng đời nầy làm cho lòng các ngươi mê mẩn chăng, và e ngày ấy đến thình lình trên các ngươi như lưới bủa;

But take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache and nausea of self-indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to '> business of] this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap or a noose;

35 v ì ngày đó sẽ đến cho mọi người ở khắp trên mặt đất cũng vậy.

For it will come upon all who live upon the face of the entire earth.

36 V ậy, hãy tỉnh thức luôn và cầu nguyện, để các ngươi được tránh khỏi các tại nạn sẽ xảy ra, và đứng trước mặt Con người.

Keep awake then and watch at all times, praying that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things that will take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.

37 V ả, ban ngày, Đức Chúa Jêsus dạy dỗ trong đền thờ; còn đến chiều, Ngài đi lên núi, gọi là núi ô-li-ve, mà ở đêm tại đó.

Now in the daytime Jesus was teaching in '> the porches and courts of] the temple, but at night He would go out and stay on the mount called Olivet.

38 V ừa tảng sáng, cả dân sự đến cùng Ngài trong đền thờ, đặng nghe Ngài dạy.

And early in the morning all the people came to Him in the temple '> porches or courts] to listen to Him.
