1 N ầy, Chúa, là Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, sẽ cất lấy chói và gậy khỏi Giê-ru-sa-lem và Giu-đa, tức là cả bánh nó cậy và cả nước nó nhờ.

For behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, is taking away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread and the whole stay of water,

2 N gài sẽ cất lấy những người mạnh mẽ, chiến sĩ, quan xét, đấng tiên tri, thầy bói, trưởng lão,

The mighty man and the man of war, the judge and the prophet, the one who foretells by divination and the old man,

3 c ai đội, dòng quí phái, mưu sĩ, lương công, và thuật sĩ.

The captain of fifty and the man of rank, the counselor and the expert craftsman and the skillful enchanter.

4 T a sẽ ban cho họ những người trai trẻ làm quan trưởng, và con nít sẽ cai trị họ.

And I will make boys their princes, and with childishness shall they rule over them.

5 D ân sự hà hiếp nhau, người với người, lân cận với lân cận; con nít lấn lướt kẻ già cả, người hèn hạ lấn lướt người tôn trọng.

And the people shall be oppressed, each one by another, and each one by his neighbor; the child shall behave himself proudly and with insolence against the old man, and the lowborn against the honorable.

6 K hi một người sẽ bắt anh em mình tại nhà cha mà nói với rằng: Ngươi có áo choàng; hãy làm đầu chúng ta, và sự bại hoại nầy hãy thuộc về dưới tay ngươi!

When a man shall take hold of his brother in the house of his father, saying, You have a robe, you shall be our judge and ruler, and this heap of ruins shall be under your control—

7 T rong ngày đó người kia lên tiếng đáp rằng: Không, ta không làm thầy chữa lành, và trong nhà ta không có bánh cũng không có áo; chớ lập ta làm quan cai dân sự.

In that day he will answer, saying, I will not be a healer and one who binds up; I am not a physician. For in my house is neither bread nor clothing; you shall not make me judge and ruler of the people.

8 G iê-ru-sa-lem phải nghiêng úp, và Giu-đa xiêu đổ; vì lời nói việc làm của họ nghịch cùng Đức Giê-hô-va, và trêu chọc con mắt của uy nghiêm Ngài.

For Jerusalem is ruined and Judah is fallen, because their speech and their deeds are against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of His glory and defy His glorious presence.

9 B ộ mặt họ làm chứng nghịch cùng mình; họ bêu tội rõ ràng như thành Sô-đôm chẳng giấu chút nào. Khốn thay cho linh hồn họ! vì họ đã làm hại cho mình!

Their respecting of persons and showing of partiality witnesses against them; they proclaim their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it. Woe to them! For they have brought evil.

10 H ãy rao cho kẻ công bình được phước; vì họ sẽ ăn trái của việc làm mình.

Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their deeds.

11 K hốn cho kẻ hung ác, ắt mang họa! Vì họ sẽ thâu lại việc tự tay mình làm ra!

Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with them, for what their hands have done shall be done to them.

12 D ân ta bị con nít hà hiếp, và đờn bà cai trị nó. Hỡi dân ta, kẻ dẫn ngươi làm cho ngươi sai lạc, và họ phá hoại đường lối ngươi.

As for My people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O My people, your leaders cause you to err, and they confuse (destroy and swallow up) the course of your paths.

13 Đ ức Giê-hô-va dấy lên đặng biện luận, Ngài đứng mà xét đoán các dân.

The Lord stands up to contend, and stands to judge the peoples and His people.

14 Đ ức Giê-hô-va xét đoán các trưởng lão của dân Ngài với các quan trưởng nó: Aáy chính các ngươi là kẻ đã nuốt vườn nho; của cướp bóc kẻ nghèo đương ở trong nhà các ngươi!

The Lord enters into judgment with the elders of His people and their princes: For you have devoured the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

15 C ác ngươi có ý gì mà đè ép dân ta, giày vò mặt kẻ nghèo khó? Chúa, là Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, phán vậy.

What do you mean by crushing My people and grinding the faces of the poor? says the Lord God of hosts.

16 Đ ức Giê-hô-va lại phán rằng: Vì những con gái Si-ôn kiêu ngạo, ngóng cổ bước tới, liếc mắt trêu ngươi, vừa đi õng ẹo, vừa khua động tiếng dưới chơn,

Moreover, the Lord said, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty and walk with outstretched necks and with undisciplined (flirtatious and alluring) eyes, tripping along with mincing and affected gait, and making a tinkling noise with their feet,

17 n ên Chúa sẽ làm cho đỉnh đầu con gái Si-ôn đóng vảy, và Đức Giê-hô-va sẽ lột truồng chúng nó.

Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the heads of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will cause them to be stripped naked.

18 T rong ngày đó, Chúa sẽ cất những vòng mắt cá họ trang sức đi, cái lưới và cái cài;

In that day the Lord will take away the finery of their tinkling anklets, the caps of network, the crescent head ornaments,

19 h oa tai, xuyến và lúp;

The pendants, the bracelets or chains, and the spangled face veils and scarfs,

20 m ão, chuyền mắt cá, nít lưng, hợp hương và bùa đeo;

The headbands, the short ankle chains, the sashes, the perfume boxes, the amulets or charms,

21 c à rá và khoen đeo mũi;

The signet rings and nose rings,

22 á o lễ, áo lá rộng, áo choàng, túi nhỏ;

The festal robes, the cloaks, the stoles and shawls, and the handbags,

23 g ương tay, vải mỏng, khăn bịt đầu và màn che mặt.

The hand mirrors, the fine linen, the turbans, and the veils.

24 S ẽ có mùi hôi hám thay vì thơm tho; dây tói thay vì nịt lưng; đầy sói thay vì tóc quăn; bao gai quấn mình thay vì áo dài phấp phới; dấu phỏng thay vì sắc đẹp.

And it shall come to pass that instead of the sweet odor of spices there shall be the stench of rottenness; and instead of a girdle, a rope; and instead of well-set hair, baldness; and instead of a rich robe, a girding of sackcloth; and searing instead of beauty.

25 L ính chiến ngươi sẽ ngã dưới gươm, những kẻ anh hùng ngươi sẽ bị tử trận.

Your men shall fall by the sword, and your mighty men in battle.

26 C ác cửa nó sẽ than khóc và thảm sầu; nó vắng vẻ ngồi trên đất.

And gates shall lament and mourn; and she, being ruined and desolate, shall sit upon the ground.
