1 Đ ầu Tin Lành của Đức Chúa Jêsus Christ, là Con Đức Chúa Trời.

The beginning of the good news (the Gospel) of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

2 N hư đã chép trong sách tiên tri Ê-sai rằng: Nầy, ta sai sứ ta đến trước mặt ngươi, Người sẽ dọn đường cho ngươi.

Just as it is written in the prophet Isaiah: Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who will make ready Your way—

3 C ó tiếng kêu trong đồng vắng rằng: Hãy dọn đường Chúa, Ban bằng các nẻo Ngài;

A voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make His beaten tracks straight (level and passable)!

4 G iăng đã tới, trong đồng vắng vừa làm vừa giảng phép báp-tem ăn năn, cho được tha tội.

John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness (desert), preaching a baptism '> obligating] repentance ( a change of one’s mind for the better, heartily amending one’s ways, with abhorrence of his past sins) in order to obtain forgiveness of and release from sins.

5 C ả xứ Giu-đê và hết thảy dân sự thành Giê-ru-sa-lem đều đến cùng người, xưng tội mình và chịu người làm phép báp tem dưới sông Giô-đanh.

And there kept going out to him all the country of Judea and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, as they were confessing their sins.

6 G iăng mặc áo lông lạc đà, buộc dây lưng da ngang hông; ăn những châu chấu và mật ong rừng.

And John wore clothing woven of camel’s hair and had a leather girdle around his loins and ate locusts and wild honey.

7 N gười giảng dạy rằng: Có Đấng quyền phép hơn ta đến sau ta; ta không đáng cúi xuống mở dây giày Ngài.

And he preached, saying, After me comes He Who is stronger (more powerful and more valiant) than I, the strap of Whose sandals I am not worthy or fit to stoop down and unloose.

8 T a làm phép báp-tem cho các ngươi bằng nước; nhưng Ngài sẽ làm phép báp-tem cho các ngươi bằng Đức Thánh-Linh.

I have baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.

9 V ả, trong những ngày đó, Đức Chúa Jêsus đến từ Na-xa-rét là thành xứ Ga-li-lê, và chịu Giăng làm phép báp-tem dưới sông Giô-đanh.

In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

10 V ừa khi lên khỏi nước, Ngài thấy các từng trời mở ra, và Đức Thánh-Linh ngự xuống trên mình Ngài như chim bò câu.

And when He came up out of the water, at once he saw the heavens torn open and the Spirit like a dove coming down '> to enter] into Him.

11 L ại có tiếng từ trên trời phán rằng: Ngươi là Con yêu dấu của ta, đẹp lòng ta mọi đường.

And there came a voice out from within heaven, You are My Beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.

12 T ức thì Đức Thánh Linh giục Ngài đến nơi đồng vắng

Immediately the Spirit drove Him out into the wilderness (desert),

13 N gài ở nơi đồng vắng chịu quỉ Sa-tan cám dỗ bốn mươi ngày, ở chung với thú rừng, và có thiên sứ đến hầu việc Ngài.

And He stayed in the wilderness (desert) forty days, being tempted by Satan; and He was with the wild beasts, and the angels ministered to Him.

14 S au khi Giăng bị tù, Đức Chúa Jêsus đến xứ Ga-li-lê, giảng Tin-Lành của Đức Chúa Trời,

Now after John was arrested and put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the good news (the Gospel) of the kingdom of God,

15 m à rằng: Kỳ đã trọn, nước Đức Chúa Trời đã đến gần; các ngươi hãy ăn năn và tin đạo Tin Lành.

And saying, The time is fulfilled (completed), and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent ( have a change of mind which issues in regret for past sins and in change of conduct for the better) and believe (trust in, rely on, and adhere to) the good news (the Gospel).

16 N gài đi dọc theo mé biển Ga-li-lê, thấy Si-môn với Anh-rê, em người, đương thả lưới dưới biển; vì hai người vốn làm nghề chài.

And passing along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net in the sea, for they were fishermen.

17 Đ ức Chúa Jêsus bèn phán cùng họ rằng: Hãy theo ta, và ta sẽ khiến các ngươi trở nên tay đánh lưới người.

And Jesus said to them, Come after Me and be My disciples, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

18 T ức thì hai người bỏ chài lưới mà theo Ngài.

And at once they left their nets and '> yielding up all claim to them] followed Him '> joining Him as disciples and siding with His party].

19 Đ i một đỗi xa xa, Ngài thấy Gia-cơ, con Xê-bê-đê, với em là Giăng, đương vá lưới trong thuyền.

He went on a little farther and saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were in boat putting their nets in order.

20 N gài liền kêu hai người; thì họ để Xê-bê-đê, cho mình, ở lại trong thuyền với mấy người làm thuê, mà theo Ngài.

And immediately He called out to them, and '> abandoning all mutual claims] they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and went off after Him '> to be His disciples, side with His party, and follow Him].

21 K ế đó, đi đến thành Ca-bê-na-um; nhằm ngày Sa-bát, tức thì Đức Chúa Jêsus vào nhà hội, khởi dạy dỗ tại đó.

And they entered into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He went into the synagogue and began to teach.

22 C húng đều cảm động về sự dạy dỗ của Ngài, vì Ngài dạy như có quyền phép, chớ chẳng phải như các thầy thông giáo đâu.

And they were completely astonished at His teaching, for He was teaching as One Who possessed authority, and not as the scribes.

23 V ả, cũng một lúc ấy, trong nhà hội có người bị tà ma ám,

Just at that time there was in their synagogue a man of an unclean spirit; and now he raised a deep and terrible cry from the depths of his throat, saying,

24 k êu lên rằng: Hỡi Jêsus, người Na-xa-rét, chúng tôi với Ngài có sự gì chăng? Ngài đến để diệt chúng tôi sao? Tôi biết Ngài là ai: là Đấng Thánh của Đức Chúa Trời.

What have You to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!

25 N hưng Đức Chúa Jêsus nghiêm trách nó rằng: Hãy nín đi, ra khỏi người.

And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hush up (be muzzled, gagged), and come out of him!

26 T à ma bèn vật mạnh người ấy, cất tiếng kêu lớn, và ra khỏi người.

And the unclean spirit, throwing the man into convulsions and screeching with a loud voice, came out of him.

27 A i nấy đều lấy làm lạ, đến nỗi hỏi nhau rằng: Cái gì vậy? Sự dạy mới sao! Người nầy lấy quyền phép sai khiến đến tà ma, mà nói cũng phải vâng lời!

And they were all so amazed and almost terrified that they kept questioning and demanding one of another, saying, What is this? What new (fresh) teaching! With authority He gives orders even to the unclean spirits and they obey Him!

28 D anh tiếng Đức Chúa Jêsus tức thì đồn ra khắp cả miền xung quanh xứ Ga-li-lê.

And immediately rumors concerning Him spread throughout all the region surrounding Galilee.

29 V ừa ở nhà hội ra, Chúa và môn đồ đi với Gia-cơ và Giăng vào nhà Si-môn và Anh-rê.

And at once He left the synagogue and went into the house of Simon and Andrew, accompanied by James and John.

30 V à, bà gia Si-môn đang nằm trên giường, đau rét; tức thì chúng thưa với Ngài về chuyện người.

Now Simon’s mother-in-law had for some time been lying sick with a fever, and at once they told Him about her.

31 N gài bèn lại gần, cầm tay người đỡ dậy; bịnh rét dứt đi, và người bắt tay hầu hạ.

And He went up to her and took her by the hand and raised her up; and the fever left her, and she began to wait on them.

32 Đ ến chiều, mặt trời đã lặn, người ta đem mọi kẻ bịnh và kẻ bị quỉ ám đến cùng Ngài.

Now when it was evening, after the sun had set, they brought to Him all who were sick and those under the power of demons,

33 C ả thành nhóm lại trước cửa.

Until the whole town was gathered together about the door.

34 N gài chữa lành nhiều kẻ đau các thứ bịnh, và đuổi nhiều quỉ, chẳng cho phép các quỉ nói ra, vì chúng nó biết Ngài.

And He cured many who were afflicted with various diseases; and He drove out many demons, but would not allow the demons to talk because they knew Him '> intuitively].

35 S áng hôm sau trời còn mờ mờ, Ngài chờ dậy, bước ra, đi vào nơi vắng vẻ, và cầu nguyện tại đó.

And in the morning, long before daylight, He got up and went out to a deserted place, and there He prayed.

36 S i-môn cùng đồng bạn đi tìm Ngài.

And Simon and those who were with him followed Him '> pursuing Him eagerly and hunting Him out],

37 K hi kiếm được thì thưa rằng: Hết thảy đương tìm thầy.

And they found Him and said to Him, Everybody is looking for You.

38 N gài phán: Chúng ta đi nơi khác, trong những làng xung quanh đây, để ta cũng giảng đạo ở đó nữa; vì ấy là cốt tại việc đó mà ta đã đến.

And He said to them, Let us be going on into the neighboring country towns, that I may preach there also; for that is why I came out.

39 N gài trải khắp xứ Ga-li-lê, giảng dạy trong các nhà hội và đuổi quỉ.

He went throughout the whole of Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.

40 C ó một người phung đến cùng Ngài, quì xuống cầu xin rằng: Nếu Chúa khứng, có thể khiến tôi sạch được.

And a leper came to Him, begging Him on his knees and saying to Him, If You are willing, You are able to make me clean.

41 Đ ức Chúa Jêsus động lòng thương xót, giơ tay rờ người, mà phán rằng: Ta khứng, hãy sạch đi.

And being moved with pity and sympathy, Jesus reached out His hand and touched him, and said to him, I am willing; be made clean!

42 L iền khi đó, phung lặn mất, người trở nên sạch.

And at once the leprosy left him and he was made clean.

43 t ức thì Đức Chúa Jêsus cho người ấy ra, lấy giọng nghiêm phán rằng:

And Jesus charged him sternly (sharply and threateningly, and with earnest admonition) and sent him away at once,

44 H ãy giữ chớ tỏ điều đó cùng ai; song khá đi tỏ mình cùng thầy tế lễ, và vì người được sạch, hãy dâng của lễ theo như Môi-se dạy, để điều đó làm chứng cho họ.

And said to him, See that you tell nothing to anyone; but begone, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your purification what Moses commanded, as a proof (an evidence and witness) to the people.

45 N hưng người ấy đi, đồn việc đó ra, tới đâu cũng thuật chuyện, đến nỗi Chúa Giê-xu không vào thành cách rõ ràng được nữa; song Ngài ở ngoài, tại nơi vắng vẻ; và người ta từ bốn phương đều đến cùng Ngài.

But he went out and began to talk so freely about it and blaze abroad the news that could no longer openly go into a town but was outside in desert places. But the people kept on coming to Him from all sides and every quarter.
