When I would heal Israel, then Ephraim’s guilt is uncovered, and the wickedness of Samaria; how they practice falsehood, and the thief enters and the troop of bandits ravage and raid without.

2 C húng nó không nghĩ trong lòng rằng ta nhớ mọi sự gian ác của chúng nó. Bây giờ tội phạm chúng nó ràng rịt lấy mình; chúng nó ở trước mặt ta.

But they do not consider and say to their minds and hearts that I remember all their wickedness. Now their own doings surround and entangle them; they are before My face.

3 C húng nó lấy sự gian ác mình làm vui lòng vua, lấy sự dối trá mình làm đẹp lòng các quan trưởng.

They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.

4 H ết thảy chúng nó đều tà dâm, giống như lò của người nướng bánh đốt lửa, thôi chụm lửa từ khi nhồi bột cho đến chừng bột dậy men.

They are all adulterers; their passion smolders like heat of an oven when the baker ceases to stir the fire from the kneading of the dough until it is leavened.

5 Đ ến ngày vua chúng ta, các quan trưởng vì sự nóng của rượu mà đau ốm: vua cũng bắt tay những kẻ hay nhạo báng.

On the day of our king the princes made themselves and him sick with the heat of wine; stretched out his hand with scoffers and lawless men.

6 C húng nó rình rập, lòng cháy như là lửa mà kẻ nướng bánh đã ngủ cả đêm; đến sáng sớm thì lò chánh như lửa phun ra những ngọn.

For they have made ready their heart, and their mind burns like an oven while they lie in wait. Their anger smolders all night; in the morning it blazes forth as a flaming fire.

7 C húng nó thảy đều nóng hừng như lò lửa, nuốt các quan xét mình. Hết thảy các vua chúng nó đều bị úp đổ, và trong đám họ chẳng ai kêu với ta.

They are all hot as an oven and devour their judges; all their kings are fallen; there is none among them who calls to Me.

8 E

Ephraim mixes himself among the peoples; Ephraim is a cake not turned.

9 C ác dân ngoại đã nuốt sức mạnh nó, mà nó không biết! Tọc đầu nó bạc lém đém, mà nó chẳng ngờ!

Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knows it not; yes, gray hairs are sprinkled here and there upon him, and he does not know it.

10 S ự kiêu ngạo của Y-sơ-ra-ên làm chứng trước mặt nó; chúng nó dầu gặp sự đó cũng không trở lại cùng Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời mình, và cũng chẳng tìm kiếm Ngài!

And the pride of Israel testifies against him and to his face. But they do not return to the Lord their God, nor seek nor inquire of nor require Him in spite of all this.

11 E

Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart or understanding; they call to Egypt; they go to Assyria.

12 Đ ang khi chúng nó đi đó, ta sẽ giăng lưới trên chúng nó, ta sẽ làm cho chúng nó ngã xuống như những chim trời; ta sẽ sửa phạt chúng nó y như giữa hội chúng nó đã nghe.

As they go, I will spread My net over them; I will bring them down like birds of the heavens. I will chastise them according to the announcement to their congregation.

13 K hốn cho chúng nó! vì chúng nó lìa xa ta; nguyền sự hư nát đổ trên chúng nó! vì chúng nó đã phạm tội nghịch cùng ta: dầu ta muốn cứu chuộc chúng nó, nhưng chúng nó nói những điều dối trá nghịch cùng ta.

Woe to them, for they have wandered from Me! Destruction to them, because they have rebelled and trespassed against Me! Though I would redeem them, yet they have spoken lies against Me.

14 C húng nó chẳng lấy lòng kêu cầu ta, song chúng nó kêu van trên giường mình; chúng nó thâu mùa lúa mì và rượu mới của mình, và bạn nghịch cùng ta.

They do not cry to Me from their heart, but they wail upon their beds; they gash and distress and assemble themselves for grain and new wine; they rebel against Me.

15 c hính ta đã dạy chúng nó, đã làm cho mạnh cánh tay chúng nó, dầu vậy, chúng nó cũng toan sự dữ nghịch cùng ta.

Although I have chastened them and trained and strengthened their arms, yet they think and devise evil against Me.

16 C húng nó xây lại, song không hướng về Đấng Rất Cao. Chúng nó giống như cung giở trái. Quan trưởng chúng nó sẽ ngã bởi gươm, vì lưỡi chúng nó nổi giận. Kìa, chúng nó sẽ làm trò cười trong đất Ê-díp-tô.

They turn back, shift, or change, but not upwards. They are like a deceitful bow; their princes shall fall by the sword for the insolence and rage of their tongue. This shall be their derision and scorning in the land of Egypt.
