1 H ãy ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va, vì Ngài là thiện; Sự nhơn từ Ngài còn đến đời đời.

O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!

2 C ác người Đức Giê-hô-va đã chuộc Khỏi tay kẻ hà hiếp hãy nói đều đó,

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has delivered from the hand of the adversary,

3 T ức là các người Ngài đã hiệp lại từ các xứ; Từ phương đông, phương tây, phương bắc, phương nam.

And gathered them out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the Sea in the south.

4 H ọ lưu lạc nơi đồng vắng, trong con đường hiu quạnh, Không tìm thành ở được;

Some wandered in the wilderness in a solitary desert track; they found no city for habitation.

5 H ọ bị đói khát, Linh hồn bèn nao sờn trong mình họ.

Hungry and thirsty, they fainted; their lives were near to being extinguished.

6 B ấy giờ trong cơn gian truân họ kêu cầu Đức Giê-hô-va; Ngài bèn giải cứu họ khỏi đều gian nan,

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.

7 D ẫn họ theo đường ngay thẳng, Đặng đi đến một thành ở được.

He led them forth by the straight and right way, that they might go to a city where they could establish their homes.

8 N guyện người ta ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va vì sự nhơn từ Ngài, Và vì các công việc lạ lùng Ngài làm cho con loài người!

Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness and loving-kindness and His wonderful works to the children of men!

9 V ì Ngài làm cho lòng khao khát được thỏa thích, Khiến cho hồn đói được đầy dẫy vật tốt.

For He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with good.

10 N hững kẻ ở trong tối tăm và bóng sự chết, Bị khốn khổ và xích sắt bắt buộc,

Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and in irons,

11 B ởi vì đã bội nghịch lời Đức Chúa Trời, Và khinh dể sự khuyên dạy của Đấng Chí cao.

Because they had rebelled against the words of God and spurned the counsel of the Most High.

12 N hơn đó Ngài lấy sự lao khổ hạ lòng họ xuống; Họ vấp ngã không ai giúp đỡ.

Therefore He bowed down their hearts with hard labor; they stumbled and fell down, and there was none to help.

13 B ấy giờ trong cơn gian truân họ kêu cầu Đức Giê-hô-va; Ngài bèn giải cứu họ khỏi điều gian nan,

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses.

14 R út họ khỏi sự tối tăm và bóng sự chết, Cũng bẻ gãy xiềng của họ.

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and broke apart the bonds that held them.

15 N guyện người ta ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va vì sự nhơn từ Ngài, Và vì các công việc lạ lùng Ngài làm cho con loài người!

Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness and loving-kindness and His wonderful works to the children of men!

16 V ì Ngài đã phá cửa đồng, Và gãy các song sắt.

For He has broken the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron apart.

17 K ẻ ngu dại bị khốn khổ Vì sự vi phạm và sự gian ác mình;

Some are fools because of the way of their transgressions and are afflicted because of their iniquities.

18 L òng chúng nó gớm ghê các thứ đồ ăn; Họ đến gần cửa sự chết.

They loathe every kind of food, and they draw near to the gates of death.

19 B ấy giờ trong cơn gian truân họ kêu cầu Đức Giê-hô-va, Ngài bèn giải cứu họ khỏi điều gian nan.

Then they cry to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivers them out of their distresses.

20 N gài ra lịnh chữa họ lành, Rút họ khỏi cái huyệt.

He sends forth His word and heals them and rescues them from the pit and destruction.

21 N guyện người ta ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va vì sự nhơn từ Ngài, Và vì các công việc lạ lùng Ngài làm cho con loài người!

Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness and loving-kindness and His wonderful works to the children of men!

22 N guyện chúng dâng của lễ thù ân, Lấy bài hát vui mừng mà thuật các công việc Ngài.

And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving and rehearse His deeds with shouts of joy and singing!

23 C ó người đi xuống tàu trong biển, Và làm việc nơi nước cả;

Some go down to the sea and travel over it in ships to do business in great waters;

24 K ẻ ấy thấy công việc Đức Giê-hô-va, Xem phép lạ Ngài trong nước sâu.

These see the works of the Lord and His wonders in the deep.

25 N gài biểu, bèn có trận gió bão, Nổi các lượn sóng lên.

For He commands and raises up the stormy wind, which lifts up the waves of the sea.

26 Đ ưa cao đến các từng trời, rồi hụp xuống tới vực sâu: Lòng họ tiêu tan vì khốn khổ.

mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the deeps; their courage melts away because of their plight.

27 H ọ choáng váng xiêu tó như một người say, Sự khôn ngoan họ đều mất hết.

They reel to and fro and stagger like a drunken man and are at their wits’ end.

28 B ấy giờ trong cơn gian truân họ kêu cầu Đức Giê-hô-va, Ngài bèn giải cứu họ khỏi điều gian nan.

Then they cry to the Lord in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses.

29 N gài ngừng bão-tố, đổi nó ra bình tịnh, Và sóng êm lặng.

He hushes the storm to a calm and to a gentle whisper, so that the waves of the sea are still.

30 H ọ bèn vui mừng vì sóng êm lặng; Chúa dẫn họ vào bến họ ước ao.

Then the men are glad because of the calm, and He brings them to their desired haven.

31 N guyện người ta ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va vì sự nhơn từ Ngài, Và vì các công việc lạ lùng Ngài làm cho con loài người!

Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness and loving-kindness and His wonderful works to the children of men!

32 N gười ta cũng hãy tôn cao Ngài trong hội dân sự, Và ngợi khen, Ngài tại nơi hiệp tập các trưởng lão.

Let them exalt Him also in the congregation of the people and praise Him in the company of the elders.

33 N gài đổi sông ra đồng vắng, Suối nước thành đất khô,

He turns rivers into a wilderness, water springs into a thirsty ground,

34 V à đất màu mỡ ra đất mặn, Vì cớ sự gian ác của dân ở tại đó.

A fruitful land into a barren, salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it.

35 N gài biến đồng vắng thành ao nước, Đất khô ra những suối nước;

He turns a wilderness into a pool of water and a dry ground into water springs;

36 N gài làm cho những kẻ đói được ở lại đó, Họ xây lập thành đặng ở.

And there He makes the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation,

37 H ọ gieo ruộng và trồng nho, Ruộng và nho sanh bông trái.

And sow fields, and plant vineyards which yield fruits of increase.

38 Đ ức Chúa Trời ban phước cho họ đến đỗi họ sanh sản nhiều thêm; Ngài không để cho súc vật họ bị hao hớt.

He blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly, and allows not their cattle to decrease.

39 H ọ lại bị hạ số và phải cực lòng Vì sự hà hiếp, sự gian nan, và sự buồn rầu.

When they are diminished and bowed down through oppression, trouble, and sorrow,

40 N gài đổ sự nhuốc nhơ trên vua chúa, Khiến họ phải lưu lạc trong nơi vắng vẻ không đường.

He pours contempt upon princes and causes them to wander in waste places where there is no road.

41 N hưng Ngài vớt kẻ thiếu thốn khỏi hoạn nạn, Làm cho người ấy được gia quyến đông như bầy chiên.

Yet He raises the poor and needy from affliction and makes their families like a flock.

42 C ác người ngay thẳng sẽ thấy điều ấy, và vui vẻ, Còn các kẻ ác đều phải ngậm miệng lại.

The upright shall see it and be glad, but all iniquity shall shut its mouth.

43 P hàm kẻ nào khôn ngoan sẽ chú ý về điều nầy, Và suy gẫm sự nhơn từ của Đức Giê-hô-va.

Whoso is wise will observe and heed these things; and they will diligently consider the mercy and loving-kindness of the Lord.
