1 H ỡi người mạnh dạn, sao ngươi tự khoe về sự dữ? Sự nhơn từ của Đức Chúa Trời còn mãi mãi.

Why boast you of mischief done against the loving-kindness of God, O mighty man, day after day?

2 L ưỡi ngươi toan sự tà ác và làm điều giả dối, Khác nào dao-cạo bén.

Your tongue devises wickedness; it is like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

3 N gươi chuộng điều dữ hơn là điều lành, Thích sự nói dối hơn là nói sự công bình.

You love evil more than good, and lying rather than to speak righteousness, justice, and right. Selah!

4 H ỡi lưỡi dối trá, Ngươi ưa mến các lời tàn hại.

You love all destroying and devouring words, O deceitful tongue.

5 Đ ức Chúa Trời cũng sẽ phá hại ngươi đời đời; Ngài sẽ bắt ngươi, rứt ngươi khỏi trại ngươi, Và nhổ ngươi khỏi đất kẻ sống.

God will likewise break you down and destroy you forever; He will lay hold of you and pluck you out of your tent and uproot you from the land of the living. Selah!

6 N gười công bình sẽ thấy, bèn bắt sợ, Và cười người, mà rằng:

The righteous also shall see and be in reverent fear and awe, but about you they will laugh, saying,

7 K ìa, là người không nhờ Đức Chúa Trời làm sức lực mình, Song nhờ cậy nơi sự giàu có hiếm hiệm mình. Làm cho mình vững bền trong sự ác mình!

See, this is the man who made not God his strength (his stronghold and high tower) but trusted in and confidently relied on the abundance of his riches, seeking refuge and security for himself through his wickedness.

8 C òn tôi khác nào cây ô-li-ve xanh tươi trong nhà Đức Chúa Trời; Tôi nhờ cậy nơi lòng nhơn từ của Đức Chúa Trời đến đời đời vô cùng.

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in and confidently rely on the loving-kindness and the mercy of God forever and ever.

9 T ôi sẽ cảm tạ Chúa đời đời, vì Ngài đã làm việc đó: Tôi sẽ trông cậy nơi danh Chúa Trước mặt các người thánh của Chúa, vì điều đó là tốt lành.

I will thank You and confide in You forever, because You have done it. I will wait on, hope in and expect in Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your saints (Your kind and pious ones).
