1 P raise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God, for He is gracious and lovely; praise is becoming and appropriate.

2 T he Lord is building up Jerusalem; He is gathering together the exiles of Israel.

3 H e heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

4 H e determines and counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by their names.

El que cuenta el número de las estrellas; a todas ellas llama por sus nombres.

5 G reat is our Lord and of great power; His understanding is inexhaustible and boundless.

Grande es el Señor nuestro, y de mucha potencia; y su inteligencia es infinita.

6 T he Lord lifts up the humble and downtrodden; He casts the wicked down to the ground.

El SEÑOR, el que ensalza a los humildes; el que humilla a los impíos hasta la tierra.

7 S ing to the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praises with the harp or the lyre to our God!—

Cantad al SEÑOR con alabanza, cantad con arpa a nuestro Dios.

8 W ho covers the heavens with clouds, Who prepares rain for the earth, Who makes grass to grow on the mountains.

El que cubre los cielos de nubes, el que prepara la lluvia para la tierra, el que hace a los montes producir hierba.

9 H e gives to the beast his food, and to the young ravens that for which they cry.

El que da a la bestia su mantenimiento, y a los hijos de los cuervos que claman a él.

10 H e delights not in the strength of the horse, nor does He take pleasure in the legs of a man.

No toma contentamiento en la fortaleza del caballo, ni se complace en las piernas del varón.

11 T he Lord takes pleasure in those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy and loving-kindness.

El SEÑOR ama a los que le temen; a los que esperan en su misericordia.

12 P raise the Lord, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!

¶ Alaba al SEÑOR, Jerusalén; alaba a tu Dios, Sion.

13 F or He has strengthened and made hard the bars of your gates, and He has blessed your children within you.

Porque fortificó los cerrojos de tus puertas; bendijo a tus hijos dentro de ti.

14 H e makes peace in your borders; He fills you with the finest of the wheat.

El que pone por tu término la paz; te hará saciar de grosura de trigo.

15 H e sends forth His commandment to the earth; His word runs very swiftly.

El que envía su palabra a la tierra; muy presto corre su palabra.

16 H e gives snow like wool; He scatters the hoarfrost like ashes.

El que da la nieve como lana, derrama la escarcha como ceniza.

17 H e casts forth His ice like crumbs; who can stand before His cold?

El que echa su hielo como en pedacitos; delante de su frío ¿quién estará?

18 H e sends out His word, and melts; He causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow.

Enviará su palabra, y los derretirá; soplará su viento, y fluirán las aguas.

19 H e declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and His ordinances to Israel.

El que denuncia sus palabras a Jacob, sus estatutos y sus juicios a Israel.

20 H e has not dealt so with any nation; they have not known (understood, appreciated, given heed to, and cherished) His ordinances. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)
