1 S o these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous (upright and in right standing with God) in his own eyes.

Y cesaron estos tres varones de responder a Job, por cuanto él era justo en sus ojos.

2 E lihu son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, became indignant. His indignation was kindled against Job because he justified himself rather than God.

Entonces Eliú hijo de Baraquel, buzita, de la familia de Ram, se enojó con furor contra Job; se enojó con furor, por cuanto se justificaba a sí mismo más que a Dios.

3 A lso against three friends was anger kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet they had declared him to be in the wrong.

Se enojó asimismo con furor contra sus tres amigos, por cuanto no hallaban qué responder, habiendo condenado a Job.

4 N ow Elihu had waited to speak to Job because the others were older than he.

Y Eliú había esperado a Job en la disputa, porque todos eran más viejos de días que él.

5 B ut when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouths of these three men, he became angry.

Pero viendo Eliú que no había respuesta en la boca de aquellos tres varones, su furor se encendió.

6 T hen Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite said, I am young, and you are aged; for that reason I was timid and restrained and dared not declare my opinion to you.

Y respondió Eliú hijo de Baraquel, buzita, y dijo: Yo soy menor de días y vosotros viejos; por tanto he tenido miedo, y he temido de declararos mi opinión.

7 I said, Age should speak, and a multitude of years should teach wisdom.

Yo decía: Los días hablarán, y la muchedumbre de años declarará sabiduría.

8 B ut there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives men understanding.

Ciertamente espíritu hay en el hombre, e inspiración del Omnipotente los hace que entiendan.

9 I t is not the great who are wise, nor the aged who understand justice.

No siempre los grandes son los sabios, ni los viejos entienden el derecho.

10 S o I say, Listen to me; I also will give you my opinion and my knowledge.

Por tanto yo dije: Escuchadme; declararé yo también mi conocimiento.

11 Y ou see, I waited for your words, I listened to your wise reasons, while you searched out what to say.

He aquí yo he esperado a vuestras palabras, he escuchado vuestros argumentos, entre tanto que buscábais palabras.

12 Y es, I paid attention to what you said, and behold, not one of you convinced Job or made replies to his words.

Y aun os he considerado, y he aquí que no hay de vosotros quien redarguya a Job, y responda a sus razones.

13 B eware lest you say, We have found wisdom; God thrusts down, not man.

Para que no digáis: Nosotros hemos hallado sabiduría; que conviene que Dios lo derribe, y no el hombre.

14 N ow has not directed his words against me, neither will I answer him with speeches like yours.

Ahora bien, él no dirigió a mí sus palabras, ni yo le responderé con vuestras razones.

15 a re amazed and embarrassed, they answer no more; they have not a thing to say.

Se espantaron, no respondieron más; se les fueron las palabras.

16 A nd shall I wait, because they say nothing but stand still and answer no more?

Y yo esperé, porque no hablaban, antes pararon, y no respondieron más.

17 I also will answer my part; I also will declare my opinion and my knowledge.

Por eso yo también responderé mi parte, también yo declararé mi opinión.

18 F or I am full of words; the spirit within me constrains me.

Porque lleno estoy de palabras, y el espíritu de mi vientre me constriñe.

19 M y breast is as wine that has no vent; like new wineskins, it is ready to burst.

De cierto mi vientre está como el vino que no tiene respiradero, y está que se brote como licor.

20 I must speak, that I may get relief and be refreshed; I will open my lips and answer.

Hablaré pues y respiraré; abriré mis labios, y responderé.

21 I will not be influenced by respect for any man’s person and show partiality, neither will I flatter any man.

No haré ahora acepción de personas, ni usaré con títulos lisonjeros con el hombre.

22 F or I know not how to flatter, my Maker would soon take me away.

Porque no sé hablar lisonjas; de otra manera en breve mi Hacedor me consuma.
