1 T hese are the ones who came to David at Ziklag, while he yet concealed himself because of Saul son of Kish; they were among the mighty men, his helpers in war.

17 D avid went out to meet them and said to them, If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart shall be knit to you; but if you have come to betray me to my adversaries, although there is no violence or wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers look upon and rebuke you.

Y David salió a ellos, y les habló diciendo: Si habéis venido a mí para paz y para ayudarme, mi corazón será unido con vosotros; mas si para engañarme en pro de mis enemigos, siendo mis manos sin violencia, véalo el Dios de nuestros padres, y demándelo.

18 T hen the Spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the captains, and he said, Yours we are, David, and on your side, you son of Jesse! Peace, peace be to you, and peace be to your helpers, for your God helps you. Then David received them and made them officers of his troops.

Entonces se envistió el espíritu en Amasai, príncipe de treinta, y dijo: Por ti, oh David, y contigo, oh hijo de Jessé. Paz, paz contigo, y paz con tus ayudadores; pues que también tu Dios te ayuda. Y David los recibió, y los puso entre los capitanes de la cuadrilla.

19 S ome of the men of Manasseh deserted to David when he came with the Philistines for the battle against Saul. But men did not actually fight with them, for the lords of the Philistines, upon advisement, sent him away, saying, He will desert to his master Saul at the risk of our heads.

También se pasaron a David algunos de Manasés, cuando vino con los filisteos a la batalla contra Saúl, aunque no les ayudaron; porque los cardinales de los filisteos, habido consejo, le despidieron, diciendo: Con nuestras cabezas se pasará a su señor Saúl.

20 A s David went to Ziklag, there deserted to him of Manasseh: Adnah, Jozabad, Jediael, Michael, Jozabad, Elihu, and Zillethai, chiefs of thousands in Manasseh.

Así que viniendo él a Siclag, se pasaron a él de los de Manasés, Adnas, Jozabad, Jediaiel, Micael, Jozabad, Eliú, y Ziletai, cabezas de millares de los de Manasés.

21 T hey helped David against the band of raiders, for they were all mighty men of courage, and became commanders in army.

De los hijos de Judá que traían escudo y lanza, seis mil ochocientos, a punto de guerra.

25 T hose of Simeon, mighty and brave warriors, 7, 100;

De los hijos de Simeón, hombres valientes de gran valor para la guerra, siete mil cien.

26 T hose of Levi, 4, 600—

De los hijos de Leví, cuatro mil seiscientos;

27 J ehoiada was the leader of the Aaronite, and with him were 3, 700,

28 A nd Zadok, a young man mighty in valor, and twenty-two captains from his own father’s house;

De los hijos de Benjamín hermanos de Saúl, tres mil; porque aun en aquel tiempo muchos de ellos tenían la guardia de la casa de Saúl.

30 O f the Ephraimites, 20, 800, mighty in valor, famous in their fathers’ houses;

Y de los hijos de Efraín, veinte mil ochocientos, valientes de gran valor, varones ilustres en las casas de sus padres.

31 O f the half-tribe of Manasseh, 18, 000, who were mentioned by name to come and make David king;

De la media tribu de Manasés, dieciocho mil, los cuales fueron designados por sus nombres para venir a poner a David por rey.

32 A nd of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do, 200 chiefs; and all their kinsmen were under their command;

33 O f Zebulun, 50, 000 experienced troops, fitted out with all kinds of weapons and instruments of war that could order and set the battle in array, men not of double purpose but stable and trustworthy.

34 O f Naphtali, 1, 000 captains, and with them 37, 000 with shield and spear;

37 O n the other side of the Jordan River, of Reuben and Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh, 120, 000 men, armed with all the weapons and instruments of war.

38 A ll these, being men of war arrayed in battle order, came with a perfect and sincere heart to Hebron to make David king over all Israel; and all the rest also of Israel were of one mind to make David king.

Todos estos hombres de guerra, ordenados para guerrear, vinieron con corazón perfecto a Hebrón, para poner a David por rey sobre todo Israel; y asimismo todos los demás de Israel tenían un mismo corazón para poner a David por rey.

39 A nd they were there with David for three days, eating and drinking, for their brethren had prepared for them.

Y estuvieron allí con David tres días comiendo y bebiendo, porque sus hermanos habían preparado para ellos.

40 A lso those who were near them from as far as Issachar, Zebulun, and Naphtali brought food on donkeys, camels, mules, and oxen, abundant supplies of meal, cakes of figs, bunches of raisins, wine, oil, oxen, and sheep, for there was joy in Israel.

Y asimismo los que les eran vecinos, hasta Isacar y Zabulón y Neftalí, trajeron pan en asnos, camellos, mulos, y bueyes; comida, y harina, masas de higos, y pasas, vino, y aceite, bueyes y ovejas en abundancia, porque en Israel había alegría.
