1 J ob again took up his discourse and said,

Y volvió Job a tomar su parábola, y dijo:

2 A s God lives, Who has taken away my right and denied me justice, and the Almighty, Who has vexed and embittered my life,

Vive el Dios que me quitó mi derecho, y el Omnipotente, que amargó mi alma,

3 A s long as my life is still whole within me, and the breath of God is in my nostrils,

que todo el tiempo que mi alma estuviere en mí, y hubiere hálito de Dios en mis narices,

4 M y lips shall not speak untruth, nor shall my tongue utter deceit.

mis labios no hablarán iniquidad, ni mi lengua pronunciará engaño.

5 G od forbid that I should justify you—saying you are right; till I die, I will not put away my integrity from me.

Nunca tal me acontezca que yo os justifique; hasta morir no quitaré de mí mi integridad.

6 M y uprightness and my right standing with God I hold fast and will not let them go; my heart does not reproach me for any of my days and it shall not reproach me as long as I live.

Mi justicia tengo asida, y no la cederé; no me reprochará mi corazón en todos mis días.

7 L et my enemy be as the wicked, and let him who rises up against me be as the unrighteous.

¶ Sea como el impío mi enemigo, y como el inicuo mi adversario.

8 F or what is the hope of the godless and polluted, even though he has gained, when God cuts him off and takes away his life?

Porque ¿cuál es la esperanza del hipócrita, por mucho que hubiere robado, cuando Dios arrebatare su alma?

9 W ill God hear his cry when trouble comes upon him?

¿Por ventura oirá Dios su clamor cuando la tribulación viniere sobre él?

10 W ill he take delight in the Almighty? Will he call upon God at all times?

¿Por ventura se deleitará en el Omnipotente? ¿Invocará a Dios en todo tiempo?

11 I will teach you regarding the hand and handiwork of God; that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.

Yo os enseñaré lo que hay en la mano de Dios; no esconderé lo que hay acerca del Omnipotente.

12 B ehold, all of you have seen it yourselves; why then have you become altogether vain ?

He aquí que todos vosotros lo habéis visto, ¿por qué pues os desvanecéis con vanidad?

13 T his is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage which oppressors shall receive from the Almighty:

Esta es para con Dios la suerte del hombre impío, y la herencia que los violentos han de recibir del Omnipotente.

14 I f his children are multiplied, it is for the sword; and his offspring will not have sufficient bread.

Si sus hijos fueren multiplicados, serán para la espada; y sus descendientes no se saciarán de pan.

15 T hose who survive him, will bury, and widows will make no lamentation.

Los que de ellos quedaren, en muerte serán sepultados; y no llorarán sus viudas.

16 T hough he heaps up silver like dust and piles up clothing like clay,

Si amontonare plata como polvo, y si preparare ropa como lodo;

17 H e may prepare it, but the just will wear it, and the innocent will divide the silver.

la habrá preparado él, mas el justo se vestirá, y el inocente repartirá la plata.

18 H e builds his house like a moth or a spider, like a booth which a watchman makes.

Edificó su casa como la polilla, y como cabaña que el guarda hizo.

19 w ill lie down rich, but does it not again; he opens his eyes, and is gone.

El rico dormirá, mas no será recogido; abrirá sus ojos, y no verá a nadie.

20 T errors overtake him like a flood; a windstorm steals him away in the night.

Asirán de él terrores como aguas; torbellino lo arrebatará de noche.

21 T he east wind lifts him up, and he is gone; it sweeps him out of his place.

Lo tomará el solano, y partirá; la tempestad lo arrebatará del lugar suyo.

22 F or hurl at him without pity and unsparingly; he flees in haste before His power.

Dios, pues, descargará sobre él, y no perdonará. Hará él por huir de su mano.

23 m en to clap their hands at him and hiss him out of his place.

Batirán sus manos sobre él, y desde su lugar le silbarán.
