1 T he mournful, inspired prediction (a burden to be lifted up) concerning the Valley of Vision: What do you mean that you have all gone up to the housetops,

Carga del valle de la visión. ¿Qué tienes ahora, que con todos los tuyos te has subido sobre los tejados?

2 Y ou who are full of shouting, a tumultuous city, a joyous and exultant city? your slain warriors have not met death with the sword or in battle.

Tú, llena de alborotos, ciudad turbulenta, ciudad alegre; tus muertos no son muertos a espada, ni muertos en guerra.

3 A ll your leaders have fled together; without the bow they have been taken captive and bound by the archers. All of you who were found were bound together, though they had fled far away.

Todos tus Príncipes juntos huyeron del arco, fueron atados. Todos los que en ti se hallaron, fueron atados juntamente; los otros huyeron lejos.

4 T herefore I said, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly. Do not hasten and try to comfort me over the destruction of the daughter of my people.

Por esto dije: Dejadme, lloraré amargamente; no os afanéis por consolarme de la destrucción de la hija de mi pueblo.

5 F or it is a day of discomfiture and of tumult, of treading down, of confusion and perplexity from the Lord God of hosts in the Valley of Vision, a day of breaking down the walls and of crying to the mountains.

Porque día de alboroto, y de huella, y de fatiga por el Señor DIOS de los ejércitos es enviado en el valle de la visión, para derribar el muro, y dar grito al monte.

6 A nd Elam take up the quiver, with troops in chariots, infantry, and horsemen; and Kir uncovered the shield.

También Elam tomó la aljaba en un carro de hombres, y de caballeros; y Kir descubrió el escudo.

7 A nd it came to pass that your choicest valleys were full of chariots, and the horsemen took their station.

Y acaeció, que tus hermosos valles fueron llenos de carros; y soldados pusieron de hecho sus haces a la puerta.

8 T hen removed the protective covering of Judah; and you looked to the weapons in the House of the Forest in that day.

Y desnudó la cobertura de Judá; y miraste en aquel día hacia la casa de armas del bosque.

9 Y ou saw that the breaches of the City of David were many; you collected the waters of the Lower Pool.

Y visteis las roturas de la ciudad de David, que se multiplicaron; y recogisteis las aguas de la pesquera de abajo.

10 A nd you numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and you broke down the houses to fortify the wall.

Y contasteis las casas de Jerusalén; y derribasteis casas para fortificar el muro.

11 Y ou also made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the Old Pool, but you did not look to the Maker of it, nor did you recognize Him Who planned it long ago.

E hicisteis foso entre los dos muros con las aguas de la pesquera vieja; y no tuvisteis respeto al que lo hizo, ni mirasteis desde la antigüedad al que lo labró.

12 A nd in that day the Lord God of hosts called you to weeping and mourning, to the shaving off of all your hair and to the girding with sackcloth.

Por tanto, el Señor DIOS de los ejércitos, llamó en este día a llanto y a endechas; a raparse el cabello y a vestir cilicio.

13 B ut instead, see the pleasure and mirth, slaying oxen and killing sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine, Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!

Y he aquí gozo y alegría, matando vacas, y degollando ovejas, comer carne y beber vino, diciendo: Comamos y bebamos, que mañana moriremos.

14 A nd the Lord of hosts revealed Himself in my ears, Surely this unatoned sin shall not be purged from you until death, says the Lord God of hosts.

Esto fue revelado a mis oídos de parte del SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Que esta iniquidad no os será purgada hasta que muráis, dice el Señor DIOS de los ejércitos.

15 C ome, go to this steward and treasurer, to Shebna, who is over the house, and say to him,

El SEÑOR de los ejércitos dice así: Ve, entra a este tesorero, a Sebna el mayordomo, y dile:

16 W hat business have you here? And whom have you entombed here, that you have the right to hew out for yourself a tomb here? He hews out a sepulcher for himself on the height! He carves out a dwelling for himself in the rock!

¿Qué tienes tú aquí, o a quién tienes tú aquí, que labraste aquí sepulcro para ti, como el que en lugar alto labra su sepultura, o el que esculpe para sí morada en una peña?

17 B ehold, the Lord will hurl you away violently, O you strong man; yes, He will take tight hold of you and He will surely cover you.

He aquí que el SEÑOR te transportará en duro cautiverio, y de cierto te cubrirá el rostro.

18 H e will surely roll you up in a bundle and toss you like a ball into a large country; there you will die and there will be your splendid chariots, you disgrace to your master’s house!

Te echará a rodar con ímpetu, como a bola por tierra larga de términos; allá morirás, y allá fenecerán los carros de tu gloria, vergüenza de la casa de tu Señor.

19 A nd I will thrust you from your office, and from your station will you be pulled down.

Y te arrojaré de tu lugar, y de tu puesto te empujaré.

20 A nd in that day I will call My servant, Eliakim son of Hilkiah.

Y será, que en aquel día llamaré a mi siervo Eliacim, hijo de Hilcías.

21 A nd I will clothe him with your robe and will bind your girdle on him and will commit your authority to his hand; he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah.

Y lo vestiré de tus vestiduras, y le fortaleceré con tu talabarte; y entregaré en sus manos tu potestad; y será padre al morador de Jerusalén, y a la casa de Judá.

22 A nd the key of the house of David I will lay upon his shoulder; he shall open and no one shall shut, he shall shut and no one shall open.

Y pondré la llave de la casa de David sobre su hombro; y abrirá, y nadie cerrará; cerrará, y nadie abrirá.

23 A nd I will fasten him like a peg or nail in a firm place; and he will become a throne of honor and glory to his father’s house.

Y lo hincaré como clavo en lugar firme; y será por asiento de honra a la casa de su padre.

24 A nd they will hang on him the honor and the whole weight of his father’s house: the offspring and issue, every small vessel, from the cups even to all the flasks and big bulging bottles.

Y colgarán de él toda la honra de la casa de su padre, los hijos, y los nietos, todos los vasos menores, desde los vasos de beber hasta todos los instrumentos de música.

25 I n that day, says the Lord of hosts, the nail or peg that was fastened into the sure place shall give way and be moved and be hewn down and fall, and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off; for the Lord has spoken it.

En aquel día, dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, el clavo hincado en lugar firme será quitado, y será quebrado y caerá; y la carga que sobre él se puso, se echará a perder; porque el SEÑOR habló.
