1 W oe to the shepherds (the civil leaders) who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasturing! says the Lord.

¡Ay de los pastores que desperdician y derraman las ovejas de mi manada! Dijo el SEÑOR.

2 T herefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the shepherds who care for and feed My people: You have scattered My flock and driven them away and have not visited and attended to them; behold, I will visit and attend to you for the evil of your doings, says the Lord.

Por tanto, así dijo el SEÑOR Dios de Israel a los pastores que apacientan mi pueblo: Vosotros derramasteis mis ovejas, y las espantasteis, y no las habéis visitado; he aquí yo visito sobre vosotros la maldad de vuestras obras, dijo el SEÑOR.

3 A nd I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all the countries to which I have driven them and will bring them again to their folds and pastures; and they will be fruitful and multiply.

Y yo recogeré el resto de mis ovejas de todas las tierras adonde las eché, y las haré volver a sus moradas; y crecerán, y se multiplicarán.

4 A nd I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them. And they will fear no more nor be dismayed, neither will any be missing or lost, says the Lord.

Y pondré sobre ellas pastores que las apacienten; y no temerán más, ni se amedrentarán, ni serán menoscabadas, dijo el SEÑOR.

5 B ehold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will raise up to David a righteous Branch (Sprout), and He will reign as King and do wisely and will execute justice and righteousness in the land.

He aquí que vienen los días, dice el SEÑOR, y despertaré a David renuevo justo, y reinará Rey, el cual será dichoso, y hará juicio y justicia en la tierra.

6 I n His days Judah shall be saved and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is His name by which He shall be called: The Lord Our Righteousness.

En sus días será salvo Judá, e Israel habitará confiado; y éste será su nombre que le llamarán: SEÑOR, JUSTICIA NUESTRA.

7 T herefore behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when they shall no more say, As the Lord lives, Who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt,

Por tanto, he aquí que vienen días, dijo el SEÑOR, y no dirán más: Vive el SEÑOR que hizo subir a los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto;

8 B ut, As the Lord lives, Who brought up and led the offspring of the house of Israel from the north country and from all the countries to which I had driven them. And they shall dwell in their own land..

sino: Vive el SEÑOR que hizo subir y trajo la simiente de la Casa de Israel de tierra del Aquilón, y de todas las tierras adonde los eché; y habitarán en su tierra.

9 C oncerning the prophets: My heart is broken within me, all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, a man whom wine has overcome, because of the Lord and because of His holy words.

A causa de los profetas mi corazón está quebrantado en medio de mí, todos mis huesos tiemblan; estuve como hombre borracho, y como hombre a quien dominó el vino, delante del SEÑOR, y delante de las palabras de su Santidad.

10 F or the land is full of adulterers (forsakers of God, Israel’s true Husband). Because of the curse the land mourns, the pastures of the wilderness are dried up. They rush into wickedness; and their course is evil, their might is not right.

Porque la tierra está llena de adúlteros; porque a causa del juramento la tierra está desierta; las cabañas del desierto se secaron; la carrera de ellos fue mala, y su fortaleza no derecha.

11 F or both prophet and priest are ungodly and profane; even in My house have I found their wickedness, says the Lord.

Porque así el profeta como el sacerdote son fingidos: aun en mi Casa hallé su maldad, dijo el SEÑOR.

12 T herefore their way will be to them like slippery paths in the dark; they will be driven on and fall into them. For I will bring evil upon them in the year of their punishment, says the Lord.

Por tanto, como resbaladeros en oscuridad les será su camino; serán empujados, y caerán en él; porque yo traeré mal sobre ellos, año de su visitación, dice el SEÑOR.

13 A nd I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria: they prophesied by Baal and caused My people Israel to err and go astray.

Y en los profetas de Samaria vi locura: profetizaban en Baal, e hicieron errar a mi pueblo Israel.

14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem a horrible thing: they commit adultery and walk in lies; they encourage and strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that none returns from his wickedness. They have all of them become to Me like Sodom, and her inhabitants like Gomorrah.

Y en los profetas de Jerusalén vi torpezas; cometían adulterios, y andaban por mentira, y esforzaban las manos de los malos, para que ninguno se convirtiera de su malicia; me fueron todos ellos como los moradores de Sodoma, y sus moradores como Gomorra.

15 T herefore thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets: Behold, I will feed them with wormwood and make them drink the water of gall, for from the prophets of Jerusalem profaneness and ungodliness have gone forth into all the land.

Por tanto, así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos contra aquellos profetas: He aquí que yo les hago comer ajenjo, y les haré beber aguas de hiel; porque de los profetas de Jerusalén salió la hipocresía sobre toda la tierra.

16 T hus says the Lord of hosts: Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They teach you vanity (emptiness, falsity, and futility) and fill you with vain hopes; they speak a vision of their own minds and not from the mouth of the Lord.

Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: No escuchéis las palabras de los profetas que os profetizan; os hacen desvanecer; hablan visión de su corazón, no de la boca del SEÑOR.

17 T hey are continually saying to those who despise Me and the word of the Lord, The Lord has said: You shall have peace; and they say to everyone who walks after the stubbornness of his own mind and heart, No evil shall come upon you.

Dicen atrevidamente a los que me aíran: El SEÑOR dijo: Paz tendréis; y a cualquiera que anda tras la imaginación de su corazón, dijeron: No vendrá mal sobre vosotros.

18 F or who among them has stood in the council of the Lord, that he should perceive and hear His word? Who has marked His word and has heard it?

Porque ¿quién estuvo en el secreto del SEÑOR, y vio, y oyó su palabra? ¿Quién estuvo atento a su palabra, y oyó?

19 B ehold, the tempest of the Lord has gone forth in wrath, a whirling tempest; it shall whirl and burst upon the heads of the wicked.

He aquí que la tempestad del SEÑOR saldrá con furor; y la tempestad que está aparejada, caerá sobre la cabeza de los malos.

20 T he anger of the Lord shall not turn back until He has executed and accomplished the thoughts and intents of His mind and heart. In the latter days you shall consider and understand it perfectly.

No se apartará el furor del SEÑOR, hasta tanto que haya hecho, y hasta tanto que haya cumplido los pensamientos de su corazón; en lo postrero de los días lo entenderéis con entendimiento.

21 I did not send these prophets, yet they ran; I did not speak to them, yet they prophesied.

No envié yo a aquellos profetas, y ellos corrían; yo no les hablé, y ellos profetizaban.

22 B ut if they had stood in My council, then they would have caused My people to hear My words, then they would have turned them from their evil way and from the evil of their doings.

Y si ellos hubieran estado en mi secreto, también hubieran hecho oír mis palabras a mi pueblo; y les hubieran hecho volver de su mal camino, y de la maldad de sus obras.

23 A m I a God at hand, says the Lord, and not a God afar off?

¿Por ventura soy yo Dios de cerca solamente, dijo el SEÑOR, y no Dios de lejos?

24 C an anyone hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? says the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? says the Lord.

¿Por ventura se ocultará alguno en escondrijos que yo no lo vea, dijo el SEÑOR? ¿No lleno yo el cielo y la tierra, dijo el SEÑOR?

25 I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.

Yo oí lo que aquellos profetas dijeron, profetizando mentira en mi nombre, diciendo: Soñé, soñé.

26 H ow long yet shall it be in the minds of the prophets who prophesy falsehood, even the prophets of the deceit of their own hearts,

¿Hasta cuándo será esto en el corazón de los profetas que profetizan mentira, y que profetizan el engaño de su corazón?

27 W ho think that they can cause My people to forget My name by their dreams which every man tells to his neighbor, just as their fathers forgot My name because of Baal?

¿No piensan cómo hacen a mi pueblo olvidarse de mi Nombre con sus sueños que cada uno cuenta a su compañero, tanto que sus padres se olvidaron de mi nombre por Baal?

28 T he prophet who has a dream, let him tell his dream; but he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What has straw in common with wheat ? says the Lord.

El profeta con quien fuere el sueño, cuente el sueño; y con el que fuere mi palabra, cuente mi palabra verdadera. ¿Qué tiene que ver la paja con el trigo? Dijo el SEÑOR.

29 I s not My word like fire ? says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks in pieces the rock ?

¿Por ventura mi palabra no es como el fuego, dice el SEÑOR, y como martillo que quebranta la piedra?

30 T herefore behold, I am against the prophets, says the Lord, who steal My words from one another.

Por tanto, he aquí yo estoy contra los profetas, dice el SEÑOR, que hurtan mis palabras cada uno de su más cercano.

31 B ehold, I am against the prophets, says the Lord, who use their tongues and say, Thus says the Lord.

He aquí, yo estoy contra los profetas, dice el SEÑOR, que endulzan sus lenguas, y dicen: El dijo.

32 B ehold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams, says the Lord, and tell them and cause My people to err and go astray by their lies and by their vain boasting and recklessness—when I did not send them or command them; nor do they profit these people at all, says the Lord.

He aquí, yo estoy contra los que profetizan sueños mentirosos, dice el SEÑOR y los contaron, e hicieron errar a mi pueblo con sus mentiras y con sus lisonjas, y yo no los envié, ni les mandé; y ningún provecho hicieron a este pueblo, dijo el SEÑOR.

33 A nd when these people, or a prophet or a priest, ask you, What is the burden of the Lord ? then you shall say to them, What burden! And I will disburden Myself of you and I will cast you off, says the Lord.

Y cuando te preguntare este pueblo, o el profeta, o el sacerdote, diciendo: ¿Qué es la carga del SEÑOR? Les dirás: ¿Qué carga? Os dejaré, dijo el SEÑOR.

34 A nd as for the prophet, the priest, or the people, whoever says, The burden of the Lord, I will even visit in wrath and punish that man and his house.

Y el profeta, y el sacerdote, y el pueblo, que dijere: Carga del SEÑOR; yo visitaré sobre tal hombre y sobre su casa.

35 t hus shall you say every one to his neighbor and every one to his brother: What has the Lord answered? or, What has the Lord spoken?

Así diréis cada cual a su compañero, y cada cual a su hermano: ¿Qué respondió el SEÑOR, y qué habló el SEÑOR?

36 B ut the burden of the Lord you must mention no more, for every man’s burden is his own response and word; for you pervert the words of the living God, the Lord of hosts, our God!

Y nunca más os vendrá a la memoria decir: Carga del SEÑOR; porque la palabra de cada uno le será por carga; pues pervertisteis las palabras del Dios viviente, del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios nuestro.

37 T hus shall you say to the prophet: What has the Lord answered you? Or, What has the Lord spoken?

Así dirás al profeta: ¿Qué te respondió el SEÑOR, y qué habló el SEÑOR?

38 B ut if you say, The burden of the Lord, therefore thus says the Lord: Because you said these words, The burden of the Lord, when I sent to you, saying, You shall not say, The burden of the Lord,

Mas si dijereis: Carga del SEÑOR; por eso así dijo el SEÑOR: Porque dijisteis esta palabra, Carga del SEÑOR, habiendo enviado a vosotros, diciendo: No digáis, Carga del SEÑOR;

39 T herefore behold, I, even I, will assuredly take you up and cast you away from My presence, you and the city which I gave to you and to your fathers.

por tanto, he aquí que yo os echaré en olvido, y os arrancaré de mi presencia, y a la ciudad que os di a vosotros y a vuestros padres;

40 A nd I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you and a perpetual shame which will not be forgotten.

y pondré sobre vosotros afrenta perpetua, y confusiones eternas que nunca las desarraiga el olvido.
