1 W hen Jesus came down from the mountain, great throngs followed Him.

¶ Cuando descendió del monte, le seguían muchas personas.

2 A nd behold, a leper came up to Him and, prostrating himself, worshiped Him, saying, Lord, if You are willing, You are able to cleanse me by curing me.

Y he aquí un leproso vino, y le adoraba, diciendo: Señor, si quieres, puedes limpiarme.

3 A nd He reached out His hand and touched him, saying, I am willing; be cleansed by being cured. And instantly his leprosy was cured and cleansed.

Y extendiendo Jesús su mano, le tocó, diciendo: Quiero; sé limpio. Y luego su lepra fue limpiada.

4 A nd Jesus said to him, See that you tell nothing about this to anyone; but go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering that Moses commanded, for a testimony and as an evidence to the people.

Entonces Jesús le dijo: Mira, no lo digas a nadie; mas ve, muéstrate al sacerdote, y ofrece el presente que mandó Moisés, para que les conste.

5 A s Jesus went into Capernaum, a centurion came up to Him, begging Him,

¶ Y entrando Jesús en Capernaum, vino a él un centurión, rogándole,

6 A nd saying, Lord, my servant boy is lying at the house paralyzed and distressed with intense pains.

y diciendo: Señor, mi criado yace en casa paralítico, gravemente atormentado.

7 A nd Jesus said to him, I will come and restore him.

Y Jesús le dijo: Yo iré y le sanaré.

8 B ut the centurion replied to Him, Lord, I am not worthy or fit to have You come under my roof; but only speak the word, and my servant boy will be cured.

Y respondió el centurión, y dijo: Señor, no soy digno de que entres debajo de mi techado; mas solamente di con la palabra, y mi criado sanará.

9 F or I also am a man subject to authority, with soldiers subject to me. And I say to one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my slave, Do this, and he does it.

Porque también yo soy hombre bajo potestad, y tengo debajo de mi potestad soldados; y digo a éste: Ve, y va; y al otro: Ven, y viene; y a mi siervo: Haz esto, y lo hace.

10 W hen Jesus heard him, He marveled and said to those who followed Him '> who adhered steadfastly to Him, conforming to His example in living and, if need be, in dying also], I tell you truly, I have not found so much faith as this with anyone, even in Israel.

Y oyéndolo Jesús, se maravilló, y dijo a los que le seguían: De cierto os digo, que ni aun en Israel he hallado tanta fe.

11 I tell you, many will come from east and west, and will sit at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven,

Mas yo os digo que vendrán muchos del oriente y del occidente, y se sentarán a la mesa con Abraham, e Isaac, y Jacob, en el Reino de los cielos;

12 W hile the sons and heirs of the kingdom will be driven out into the darkness outside, where there will be weeping and grinding of teeth.

mas los hijos del Reino serán echados en las tinieblas de afuera; allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.

13 T hen to the centurion Jesus said, Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed. And the servant boy was restored to health at that very moment.

Entonces Jesús dijo al centurión: Ve, y como creiste te sea hecho. Y su criado fue sano en la misma hora.

14 A nd when Jesus went into Peter’s house, He saw his mother-in-law lying ill with a fever.

¶ Y vino Jesús a casa de Pedro, y vio a su suegra echada en cama, y con fiebre.

15 H e touched her hand and the fever left her; and she got up and began waiting on Him.

Y tocó su mano, y la fiebre la dejó; y ella se levantó, y les servía.

16 W hen evening came, they brought to Him many who were under the power of demons, and He drove out the spirits with a word and restored to health all who were sick.

Y cuando llegó la noche, trajeron a él muchos endemoniados; y echó de ellos los demonios con la palabra, y sanó a todos los enfermos;

17 A nd thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He Himself took '> in order to carry away] our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases.

para que se cumpliera lo que fue dicho por el profeta Isaías, que dijo: El tomó nuestras enfermedades, y llevó nuestras dolencias.

18 N ow Jesus, when He saw the great throngs around Him, gave orders to cross to the other side.

¶ Y viendo Jesús gran multitud alrededor de sí, mandó que se fueran al otro lado del lago.

19 A nd a scribe came up and said to Him, Master, I will accompany You wherever You go.

Y acercándose un escriba, le dijo: Maestro, te seguiré adondequiera que fueres.

20 A nd Jesus replied to him, Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have lodging places, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.

Y Jesús le dijo: Las zorras tienen cavernas, y las aves del cielo nidos; mas el Hijo del hombre no tiene dónde recostar su cabeza.

21 A nother of the disciples said to Him, Lord, let me first go and bury '> care for till death] my father.

Y otro de sus discípulos le dijo: Señor, dame licencia para que vaya primero, y entierre a mi padre.

22 B ut Jesus said to him, Follow Me, and leave the dead '> in sin] to bury their own dead.

Y Jesús le dijo: Sígueme; deja que los muertos entierren a sus muertos.

23 A nd after He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him.

¶ Y entrando él en un barco, sus discípulos le siguieron.

24 A nd suddenly, behold, there arose a violent storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered up by the waves; but He was sleeping.

Y he aquí, fue hecho en el mar un gran movimiento, que el barco se cubría de las ondas; mas él dormía.

25 A nd they went and awakened Him, saying, Lord, rescue and preserve us! We are perishing!

Y acercándose sus discípulos, le despertaron, diciendo: Señor, sálvanos, que perecemos.

26 A nd He said to them, Why are you timid and afraid, O you of little faith? Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great and wonderful calm ( a perfect peaceableness).

Y él les dice: ¿Por qué teméis, hombres de poca fe? Entonces, despierto, reprendió a los vientos y al mar; y se hizo grande bonanza.

27 A nd the men were stunned with bewildered wonder and marveled, saying, What kind of Man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him!

Y los hombres se maravillaron, diciendo: ¿Qué hombre es éste, que aun los vientos y el mar le obedecen?

28 A nd when He arrived at the other side in the country of the Gadarenes, two men under the control of demons went to meet Him, coming out of the tombs, so fierce and savage that no one was able to pass that way.

¶ Y cuando él llegó a la otra ribera, a la provincia de los gadarenos, le vinieron al encuentro dos endemoniados que salían de los sepulcros, fieros en gran manera, que nadie podía pasar por aquel camino.

29 A nd behold, they shrieked and screamed, What have You to do with us, Jesus, Son of God? Have You come to torment us before the appointed time?

Y he aquí clamaron, diciendo: ¿Qué tenemos contigo, Jesús, Hijo de Dios? ¿Has venido acá a molestarnos antes de tiempo?

30 N ow at some distance from there a drove of many hogs was grazing.

Y estaba lejos de ellos un hato de muchos puercos paciendo.

31 A nd the demons begged Him, If You drive us out, send us into the drove of hogs.

Y los demonios le rogaron, diciendo: Si nos echas, permítenos ir a aquel hato de puercos.

32 A nd He said to them, Begone! So they came out and went into the hogs, and behold, the whole drove rushed down the steep bank into the sea and died in the water.

Y les dijo: Id. Y ellos salieron, y se fueron a aquel hato de puercos; y he aquí, todo el hato de los puercos se precipitó de un despeñadero en el mar, y murieron en las aguas.

33 T he herdsmen fled and went into the town and reported everything, including what had happened to the men under the power of demons.

Y los porqueros huyeron, y viniendo a la ciudad, contaron todas las cosas, y lo que había pasado con los endemoniados.

34 A nd behold, the whole town went out to meet Jesus; and as soon as they saw Him, they begged Him to depart from their locality.

Y he aquí, toda la ciudad salió a encontrar a Jesús. Y cuando le vieron, le rogaban que se fuera de sus términos.
