1 N ow these are the generations of Aaron and Moses when the Lord spoke with Moses on Mount Sinai.

¶ Y éstas son las generaciones de Aarón y de Moisés, desde que el SEÑOR habló a Moisés en el monte de Sinaí.

2 T hese are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the firstborn, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

Y éstos son los nombres de los hijos de Aarón: Nadab el primogénito, y Abiú; Eleazar, e Itamar.

3 T hese are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests who were anointed, whom Aaron consecrated and ordained to minister in the priest’s office.

Estos son los nombres de los hijos de Aarón, sacerdotes ungidos; cuyas manos él llenó para administrar el sacerdocio.

4 B ut Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord when they offered strange fire before the Lord in the Wilderness of Sinai; and they had no children. So Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the presence and under the supervision of Aaron their father.

Mas Nadab y Abiú murieron delante del SEÑOR, cuando ofrecieron fuego extraño delante del SEÑOR, en el desierto de Sinaí; y no tuvieron hijos; y Eleazar e Itamar ejercieron el sacerdocio delante de Aarón su padre.

5 A nd the Lord said to Moses,

Y el SEÑOR habló a Moisés, diciendo:

6 B ring the tribe of Levi near and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister to him.

Haz venir a la tribu de Leví, y hazla estar delante del sacerdote Aarón, para que le ministren;

7 A nd they shall carry out his instructions and the duties connected with the whole assembly before the Tent of Meeting, doing the service of the tabernacle.

y guarden el mandamiento de él, y el mandamiento de toda la congregación delante del tabernáculo del testimonio, para que ministren en el servicio del tabernáculo;

8 A nd they shall keep all the instruments and furnishings of the Tent of Meeting and take charge of the Israelites, to serve in the tabernacle.

y guarden todos los utensilios del tabernáculo del testimonio, y la guarda de los hijos de Israel, y ministren en el servicio del tabernáculo.

9 A nd you shall give the Levites to Aaron and his sons; they are wholly given to him from among the Israelites.

Y darás los levitas a Aarón y a sus hijos; le son enteramente dados de entre los hijos de Israel.

10 A nd you shall appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall observe and attend to their priest’s office; but the excluded who comes near shall be put to death.

Y constituirás a Aarón y a sus hijos, para que guarden su sacerdocio; y el extraño que se acercare, morirá.

11 A nd the Lord said to Moses,

Habló además el SEÑOR a Moisés, diciendo:

12 B ehold, I have taken the Levites from among the Israelites instead of every firstborn who opens the womb among the Israelites; and the Levites shall be Mine,

He aquí yo he tomado los levitas de entre los hijos de Israel en lugar de todos los primogénitos que abren la matriz entre los hijos de Israel; serán, pues, míos los levitas;

13 F or all the firstborn are Mine. On the day that I slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated for Myself all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast; Mine they shall be. I am the Lord.

porque mío es todo primogénito; desde el día que yo maté todos los primogénitos en la tierra de Egipto, yo santifiqué para mí a todos los primogénitos en Israel, así de hombres como de animales; míos serán. Yo soy el SEÑOR.

14 A nd the Lord said to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai,

¶ También habló el SEÑOR a Moisés en el desierto de Sinaí, diciendo:

15 N umber the sons of Levi by their fathers’ houses and by families. Every male from a month old and upward you shall number.

Cuenta los hijos de Leví por las casas de sus padres, por sus familias; contarás todos los varones de un mes arriba.

16 S o Moses numbered them as he was commanded by the word of the Lord.

Y Moisés los contó conforme a la palabra del SEÑOR, como le fue mandado.

17 T hese were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

Y los hijos de Leví fueron éstos por sus nombres: Gersón, y Coat, y Merari.

18 A nd these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei.

Y los nombres de los hijos de Gersón, por sus familias, éstos: Libni, y Simei.

19 T he sons of Kohath by their families: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

Y los hijos de Coat, por sus familias: Amram, e Izhar, y Hebrón, y Uziel.

20 T he sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites by their fathers’ houses.

Y los hijos de Merari, por sus familias: Mahli, y Musi. Estas son las familias de Leví, por las casas de sus padres.

21 O f Gershon were the families of the Libnites and of the Shimeites. These are the families of the Gershonites.

22 T he males who were numbered of them from a month old and upward totaled 7, 500.

Los contados de ellos, conforme a la cuenta de todos los varones de un mes arriba, los contados de ellos fueron siete mil quinientos.

23 T he families of the Gershonites were to encamp behind the tabernacle on the west,

24 T he leader of the fathers’ houses of the Gershonites being Eliasaph son of Lael.

25 A nd the responsibility of the sons of Gershon in the Tent of Meeting was to be the tabernacle, the tent, its covering, and the hangings for the door of the Tent of Meeting,

26 A nd the hangings of the court, the curtain for the door of the court which is around the tabernacle and the altar, its cords, and all the service pertaining to them.

27 O f Kohath were the families of the Amramites, the Izharites, the Hebronites, and the Uzzielites; these are the families of the Kohathites.

Y de Coat, la familia de Amram, y la familia de Izhar, y la familia de Hebrón, y la familia de Uziel; éstas son las familias coatitas.

28 T he number of all the males from a month old and upward totaled 8, 600, attending to the duties of the sanctuary.

Por la cuenta de todos los varones de un mes arriba, eran ocho mil seiscientos, que tenían la guarda del santuario.

29 T he families of the sons of Kohath were to encamp on the south side of the tabernacle,

Las familias de los hijos de Coat acamparán al lado del tabernáculo, al mediodía;

30 T he chief of the fathers’ houses of the families of the Kohathites being Elizaphan son of Uzziel.

y el príncipe de la casa del padre de las familias de Coat, Elizafán hijo de Uziel.

31 T heir charge was to be the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, and the utensils of the sanctuary with which the priests minister, and the screen, and all the service having to do with these.

Y a cargo de ellos estará el arca, y la mesa, y el candelero, y los altares, y los vasos del santuario con que ministran, y el velo, con todo su servicio.

32 E leazar son of Aaron the priest was to be chief over the leaders of the Levites, and have the oversight of those who had charge of the sanctuary.

Y el principal de los príncipes de los levitas será Eleazar, hijo de Aarón el sacerdote, prepósito de los que tienen la guarda del santuario.

33 O f Merari were the families of the Mahlites and the Mushites; these are the families of Merari.

De Merari, la familia Mahli y la familia de Musi; éstas son las familias de Merari.

34 T heir number of all the males from a month old and upward totaled 6, 200.

Y los contados de ellos, conforme a la cuenta de todos los varones de un mes arriba, fueron seis mil doscientos;

35 A nd the head of the fathers’ houses of the families of Merari was Zuriel son of Abihail; the Merarites were to encamp on the north side of the tabernacle.

y el príncipe de la casa del padre de las familias de Merari, Zuriel hijo de Abihail; acamparán al lado del tabernáculo, al aquilón.

36 A nd the appointed charge of the sons of Merari was the boards or frames of the tabernacle, and its bars, pillars, sockets or bases, and all the accessories or instruments of it, and all the work connected with them,

Y a cargo de los hijos de Merari estará la custodia de las tablas del tabernáculo, y sus barras, y sus columnas, y sus basas, y todos sus utensilios, con todo su servicio;

37 A nd the pillars of the surrounding court and their sockets or bases, with their pegs and their cords.

38 B ut those to encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, before the Tent of Meeting, toward the sunrise, were to be Moses and Aaron and his sons, keeping the full charge of the rites of the sanctuary in whatever was required for the Israelites; and the excluded who came near was to be put to death.

Y los que acamparán delante del tabernáculo al oriente, delante del tabernáculo del testimonio al levante, serán Moisés, y Aarón y sus hijos, teniendo la guarda del santuario por la guarda de los hijos de Israel; y el extraño que se acercare, morirá.

39 A ll the Levites whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the command of the Lord, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were 22, 000.

40 A nd the Lord said to Moses, Number all the firstborn of the males of the Israelites from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.

¶ Y el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: Cuenta todos los primogénitos varones de los hijos de Israel de un mes arriba, y toma la cuenta de los nombres de ellos.

41 Y ou shall take the Levites for Me instead of all the firstborn among the Israelites. I am the Lord; and you shall take the cattle of the Levites for Me instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the Israelites.

Y tomarás a los levitas para mí, (yo soy el SEÑOR), en lugar de todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel; y los animales de los levitas en lugar de todos los primogénitos de los animales de los hijos de Israel.

42 S o Moses numbered, as the Lord commanded him, all the firstborn Israelites.

Y contó Moisés, como el SEÑOR le mandó, todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel.

43 B ut all the firstborn males from a month old and upward as numbered were 22, 273.

Y todos los primogénitos varones, conforme a la cuenta de los nombres, de un mes arriba, conforme a su cuenta fueron veintidós mil doscientos setenta y tres.

44 A nd the Lord said to Moses,

¶ Y habló el SEÑOR a Moisés, diciendo:

45 T ake the Levites instead of all the firstborn Israelites, and the Levites’ cattle instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be Mine. I am the Lord.

Toma los levitas en lugar de todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel, y los animales de los levitas en lugar de sus animales; y los levitas serán míos. Yo soy el SEÑOR.

46 A nd for those 273 who are to be redeemed of the firstborn of the Israelites who outnumber the Levites,

Y por los rescates de los doscientos setenta y tres de los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel que exceden a los levitas;

47 Y ou shall take five shekels apiece, reckoning by the sanctuary shekel of twenty gerahs; you shall collect them,

tomarás cinco siclos por cabeza; conforme al siclo del santuario tomarás. (El siclo tiene veinte geras.)

48 A nd you shall give the ransom silver from the excess number to be redeemed to Aaron and his sons.

Y darás a Aarón y a sus hijos el dinero por los rescates de los que de ellos exceden.

49 S o Moses took the redemption money from those who were left over from the number who were redeemed by the Levites.

Tomó, pues, Moisés el dinero del rescate de los que excedían el número de los redimidos por los levitas;

50 F rom the firstborn of the Israelites he took the money, 1, 365 shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.

y recibió de los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel, en dinero, mil trescientos sesenta y cinco siclos, conforme al siclo del santuario.

51 A nd Moses gave the money from those who were ransomed to Aaron and his sons, as the Lord commanded Moses.

Y Moisés dio el dinero de los rescates a Aarón y a sus hijos, conforme al dicho del SEÑOR, de la manera que el SEÑOR había mandado a Moisés.
