1 T hus says the Lord: Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool. What kind of house would you build for Me? And what kind can be My resting-place?

El SEÑOR dijo así: El cielo es mi trono, y la tierra, estrado de mis pies; ¿dónde quedará esta Casa que me habréis edificado, y dónde quedará este lugar de mi reposo?

2 F or all these things My hand has made, and so all these things have come into being, says the Lord. But this is the man to whom I will look and have regard: he who is humble and of a broken or wounded spirit, and who trembles at My word and reveres My commands.

Mi mano hizo todas estas cosas, y por ella todas estas cosas fueron, dijo el SEÑOR; a aquel pues miraré que es pobre y abatido de espíritu, y que tiembla a mi palabra.

3 H e who kills an ox will be as guilty as if he slew and sacrificed a man; he who sacrifices a lamb or a kid, as if he broke a dog’s neck and sacrificed him; he who offers a cereal offering, as if he offered swine’s blood; he who burns incense, as if he blessed an idol. have chosen their own ways, and they delight in their abominations;

El que sacrifica buey, como si matara un hombre; el que sacrifica oveja, como si degollara un perro; el que ofrece presente, como si ofreciera sangre de puerco; el que ofrece perfume, como si bendijera la iniquidad. Y pues escogieron sus caminos, y su alma amó sus abominaciones.

4 S o I also will choose their delusions and mockings, their calamities and afflictions, and I will bring their fears upon them—because when I called, no one answered; when I spoke, they did not listen or obey. But they did what was evil in My sight and chose that in which I did not delight.

También yo escogeré sus escarnios, y traeré sobre ellos lo que temieron; porque llamé, y nadie respondió; hablé, y no oyeron; e hicieron lo malo delante de mis ojos, y escogieron lo que a mí me desagrada.

5 H ear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at His word: Your brethren who hate you, who cast you out for My name’s sake, have said, Let the Lord be glorified, that we may see your joy! But it is they who shall be put to shame.

Oíd palabra del SEÑOR, los que tembláis a su palabra: Vuestros hermanos los que os aborrecen, y os niegan por causa de mi nombre, dijeron: Glorifíquese el SEÑOR. Mas él se manifestará a vuestra alegría, y ellos serán confundidos.

6 A n uproar from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of the Lord, rendering recompense to His enemies!

Voz de alboroto se oye de la ciudad, voz del Templo; voz del SEÑOR que da el pago a sus enemigos.

7 B efore travailed, she gave birth; before her pain came upon her, she was delivered of a male child.

Antes que estuviera de parto, dio a luz; antes que le vinieran dolores, dio a luz hijo.

8 W ho has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Or shall a nation be brought forth in a moment? For as soon as Zion was in labor, she brought forth her children.

¿Quién oyó cosa semejante? ¿Quién vió cosa tal? ¿ Dará a luz la tierra en un día? ¿Nacerá toda una nación de una vez? ¿Que Sion estuvo de parto, y dará a luz juntamente sus hijos?

9 S hall I bring to the birth and not cause to bring forth? says the Lord. Shall I Who causes to bring forth shut the womb? says your God.

¿Yo, que hago dar a luz, no estaré de parto? dijo el SEÑOR. ¿Yo, que hago engendrar, seré detenido? dice el Dios tuyo.

10 R ejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn over her,

Alegraos con Jerusalén, y gozaos con ella, todos los que la amáis; llenaos con ella de gozo, todos los que os enlutáis por ella.

11 T hat you may nurse and be satisfied from her consoling breasts, that you may drink deeply and be delighted with the abundance and brightness of her glory.

Para que maméis y os saciéis de los pechos de sus consolaciones; para que ordeñéis, y os deleitéis con el resplandor de su gloria.

12 F or thus says the Lord: Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; then you will be nursed, you will be carried on her hip and trotted on her knees.

Porque así dice el SEÑOR: He aquí que yo extiendo sobre ella paz, como un río; y la gloria de los gentiles como un arroyo que sale de madre; y mamaréis, y sobre el lado seréis traídos, y sobre las rodillas seréis regalados.

13 A s one whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

Como el varón a quien consuela su madre, así os consolaré yo a vosotros, y sobre Jerusalén tomaréis consuelo.

14 W hen you see this, your heart shall rejoice; your bones shall flourish like green and tender grass. And the hand of the Lord shall be revealed and known to be with His servants, but His indignation to be against His enemies.

Y veréis, y se alegrará vuestro corazón; y vuestros huesos reverdecerán como la hierba; y la mano del SEÑOR para con sus siervos será conocida, y se airará contra sus enemigos.

15 F or behold, the Lord will come in fire, and His chariots will be like the stormy wind, to render His anger with fierceness, and His rebuke with flames of fire.

Porque he aquí que el SEÑOR vendrá con fuego; y sus carros, como torbellino, para tornar su ira en furor; y su reprensión en llama de fuego.

16 F or by fire and by His sword will the Lord execute judgment upon all flesh, and the slain of the Lord will be many.

Porque el SEÑOR juzgará con fuego y con su espada a toda carne; y los muertos del SEÑOR serán multiplicados.

17 T hose who sanctify themselves and cleanse themselves to enter in the gardens, following after one in the midst, eating hog’s flesh and the abomination and the shall come to an end together, says the Lord.

Los que se santifican y los que se purifican en los huertos, unos tras otros; los que comen carne de puerco, y abominación, y ratón; juntamente serán talados, dice el SEÑOR.

18 F or I know their works and their thoughts. And the time is coming when I will gather all nations and tongues, and they will come and see My glory.

Porque yo entiendo sus obras y sus pensamientos. Tiempo vendrá para juntar todos los gentiles y lenguas; y vendrán, y verán mi gloria.

19 A nd I will set up a sign among them, and from them I will send survivors to the nations—to Tarshish, Pul (Put), and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the isles and coastlands afar off that have not heard of My fame nor seen My glory. And they will declare and proclaim My glory among the nations.

Y pondré entre ellos señal, y enviaré de los escapados de ellos a los gentiles, a Tarsis, a Pul y Lud, que disparan arco; a Tubal y a Javán, a las islas apartadas, que nunca oyeron mi nombre, ni vieron mi gloria; y publicarán mi gloria entre los gentiles.

20 A nd they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as an offering to the Lord—upon horses and in chariots and in litters and upon mules and upon camels—to My holy mountain Jerusalem, says the Lord, just as the children of Israel bring their cereal offering in a clean vessel to the house of the Lord.

Y traerán a todos vuestros hermanos de entre todas las naciones, por presente al SEÑOR, en caballos, en carros, en literas, y en mulos, y en camellos, a mi santo monte de Jerusalén, dice el SEÑOR de manera que los hijos de Israel traen el presente en vasos limpios a la Casa del SEÑOR.

21 A nd I will also take some of them for priests and for Levites, says the Lord.

Y tomaré también de ellos para sacerdotes y levitas, dice el SEÑOR.

22 F or as the new heavens and the new earth which I make shall remain before Me, says the Lord, so shall your offspring and your name remain.

Porque como los cielos nuevos y la nueva tierra que yo hago, permanecen delante de mí, dice el SEÑOR, así permanecerá vuestra simiente y vuestro nombre.

23 A nd it shall be that from one New Moon to another New Moon and from one Sabbath to another Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before Me, says the Lord.

Y será que de luna nueva en luna nueva, y de sábado en sábado, vendrá toda carne a adorar delante de mí, dijo el SEÑOR.

24 A nd they shall go forth and gaze upon the dead bodies of the men who have stepped over against Me; for their worm shall not die, their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all mankind.

Y saldrán, y verán los cadáveres de los varones que se rebelaron contra mí, porque su gusano nunca morirá, ni su fuego se apagará; y serán abominables a toda carne.
