1 N ow these are they that came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish: and they were among the mighty men, helpers of the war.

2 T hey were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in hurling stones and shooting arrows out of a bow, even of Saul's brethren of Benjamin.

Estaban armados de arcos, y usaban de ambas manos en tirar piedras con honda, y saetas con arco, de los hermanos de Saúl de Benjamín.

3 T he chief was Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; and Jeziel, and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth; and Berachah, and Jehu the Antothite.

4 A nd Ismaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty; and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Josabad the Gederathite,

8 A nd of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, and men of war fit for the battle, that could handle shield and buckler, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as the roes upon the mountains;

También de los de Gad huyeron a David, estando en la fortaleza en el desierto, muy valientes hombres de guerra para pelear, puestos en orden con escudo y pavés; sus rostros como rostros de leones, y ligeros como las cabras monteses.

14 T hese were of the sons of Gad, captains of the host: one of the least was over an hundred, and the greatest over a thousand.

Estos fueron capitanes del ejército de los hijos de Gad. El menor de ellos tenía a cargo cien hombres, y el mayor de mil.

15 T hese are they that went over Jordan in the first month, when it had overflown all his banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east, and toward the west.

Estos pasaron el Jordán en el mes primero, cuando se había desbordado sobre todas sus riberas; e hicieron huir a todos los de los valles al oriente y al poniente.

16 A nd there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the hold unto David.

Asimismo algunos de los hijos de Benjamín y de Judá vinieron a David a la fortaleza.

17 A nd David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.

Y David salió a ellos, y les habló diciendo: Si habéis venido a mí para paz y para ayudarme, mi corazón será unido con vosotros; mas si para engañarme en pro de mis enemigos, siendo mis manos sin violencia, véalo el Dios de nuestros padres, y demándelo.

18 T hen the spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the captains, and he said, Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.

Entonces se envistió el espíritu en Amasai, príncipe de treinta, y dijo: Por ti, oh David, y contigo, oh hijo de Jessé. Paz, paz contigo, y paz con tus ayudadores; pues que también tu Dios te ayuda. Y David los recibió, y los puso entre los capitanes de la cuadrilla.

19 A nd there fell some of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.

También se pasaron a David algunos de Manasés, cuando vino con los filisteos a la batalla contra Saúl, aunque no les ayudaron; porque los cardinales de los filisteos, habido consejo, le despidieron, diciendo: Con nuestras cabezas se pasará a su señor Saúl.

20 A s he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zilthai, captains of the thousands that were of Manasseh.

Así que viniendo él a Siclag, se pasaron a él de los de Manasés, Adnas, Jozabad, Jediaiel, Micael, Jozabad, Eliú, y Ziletai, cabezas de millares de los de Manasés.

21 A nd they helped David against the band of the rovers: for they were all mighty men of valour, and were captains in the host.

Estos ayudaron a David con una compañía; porque todos ellos eran hombres valientes, y fueron capitanes en el ejército.

22 F or at that time day by day there came to David to help him, until it was a great host, like the host of God.

Porque entonces todos los días venía ayuda a David, hasta hacerse un gran campamento, como el campamento de Dios.

23 A nd these are the numbers of the bands that were ready armed to the war, and came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the Lord.

Y éste es el número de las cabezas de los que estaban a punto de guerra, y vinieron a David en Hebrón, para traspasarle el reino de Saúl, conforme a la palabra del SEÑOR.

24 T he children of Judah that bare shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, ready armed to the war.

De los hijos de Judá que traían escudo y lanza, seis mil ochocientos, a punto de guerra.

25 O f the children of Simeon, mighty men of valour for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.

De los hijos de Simeón, hombres valientes de gran valor para la guerra, siete mil cien.

26 O f the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred.

De los hijos de Leví, cuatro mil seiscientos;

27 A nd Jehoiada was the leader of the Aaronites, and with him were three thousand and seven hundred;

asimismo Joiada, príncipe de los del linaje de Aarón, y con él tres mil setecientos;

28 A nd Zadok, a young man mighty of valour, and of his father's house twenty and two captains.

y Sadoc, joven valiente de valor, y de la casa de su padre veintidós príncipes.

29 A nd of the children of Benjamin, the kindred of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept the ward of the house of Saul.

De los hijos de Benjamín hermanos de Saúl, tres mil; porque aun en aquel tiempo muchos de ellos tenían la guardia de la casa de Saúl.

30 A nd of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of valour, famous throughout the house of their fathers.

Y de los hijos de Efraín, veinte mil ochocientos, valientes de gran valor, varones ilustres en las casas de sus padres.

31 A nd of the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, which were expressed by name, to come and make David king.

De la media tribu de Manasés, dieciocho mil, los cuales fueron designados por sus nombres para venir a poner a David por rey.

32 A nd of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

Y de los hijos de Isacar, doscientos príncipes, entendidos en los tiempos, y sabios de lo que Israel debía hacer, cuyo dicho seguían todos sus hermanos.

33 O f Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which could keep rank: they were not of double heart.

Y de Zabulón cincuenta mil, que salían a batalla en orden a la guerra, con toda clase de armas de guerra, dispuestos a pelear sin doblez de corazón.

34 A nd of Naphtali a thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty and seven thousand.

Y de Neftalí mil príncipes, y con ellos treinta y siete mil con escudo y lanza.

35 A nd of the Danites expert in war twenty and eight thousand and six hundred.

De los de Dan, dispuestos a pelear, veintiocho mil seiscientos.

36 A nd of Asher, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, forty thousand.

Y de Aser, a punto de guerra y aparejados a pelear, cuarenta mil.

37 A nd on the other side of Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, an hundred and twenty thousand.

Y del otro lado del Jordán, de los de Rubén y de los de Gad y de la media tribu de Manasés, ciento veinte mil con toda suerte de armas de guerra.

38 A ll these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.

Todos estos hombres de guerra, ordenados para guerrear, vinieron con corazón perfecto a Hebrón, para poner a David por rey sobre todo Israel; y asimismo todos los demás de Israel tenían un mismo corazón para poner a David por rey.

39 A nd there they were with David three days, eating and drinking: for their brethren had prepared for them.

Y estuvieron allí con David tres días comiendo y bebiendo, porque sus hermanos habían preparado para ellos.

40 M oreover they that were nigh them, even unto Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, and meat, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for there was joy in Israel.

Y asimismo los que les eran vecinos, hasta Isacar y Zabulón y Neftalí, trajeron pan en asnos, camellos, mulos, y bueyes; comida, y harina, masas de higos, y pasas, vino, y aceite, bueyes y ovejas en abundancia, porque en Israel había alegría.
