1 M oreover the Lord answered Job, and said,

Además de eso respondió el SEÑOR a Job y dijo:

2 S hall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.

¿Es por ventura sabiduría contender con el Omnipotente? El que disputa con Dios, responda a esto.

3 T hen Job answered the Lord, and said,

Y respondió Job al SEÑOR, y dijo:

4 B ehold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.

He aquí que yo soy vil, ¿qué te responderé? Mi mano pongo sobre mi boca.

5 O nce have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.

Una vez hablé, y no responderé; aun dos veces, mas no volveré a hablar.

6 T hen answered the Lord unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Entonces respondió el SEÑOR a Job desde el torbellino, y dijo:

7 G ird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

Cíñete ahora como varón tus lomos; yo te preguntaré, y explícame.

8 W ilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?

¿Por ventura invalidarás tú también mi juicio? ¿Me condenarás a mí, para justificarte a ti?

9 H ast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

¿Tienes tú brazo como Dios? ¿Y tronarás tú con voz como él?

10 D eck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.

Atavíate ahora de majestad y de alteza; y vístete de honra y de hermosura.

11 C ast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.

Esparce furores de tu ira; y mira a todo soberbio, y abátelo.

12 L ook on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.

Mira a todo soberbio, y próstralo, y quebranta a los impíos en su asiento.

13 H ide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.

Encúbrelos a todos en el polvo, venda sus rostros en la oscuridad;

14 T hen will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.

y yo también te confesaré que podrá salvarte tu diestra.

15 B ehold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.

He aquí ahora behemot, al cual yo hice contigo; hierba come como buey.

16 L o now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.

He aquí ahora que su fuerza está en sus lomos, y su fortaleza en el ombligo de su vientre.

17 H e moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.

Su cola mueve como un cedro, y los nervios de sus genitales son entretejidos.

18 H is bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.

Sus huesos son fuertes como bronce, y sus miembros como barras de hierro.

19 H e is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.

El es el comienzo de los caminos de Dios; el que lo hizo, acercará a él su espada.

20 S urely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.

Ciertamente los montes llevan renuevo para él; y toda bestia del campo retoza allá.

21 H e lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.

Se echará debajo de las sombras, en lo oculto de las cañas, y de los lugares húmedos.

22 T he shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.

Los árboles sombríos lo cubren con su sombra; los sauces del arroyo lo cercan.

23 B ehold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.

He aquí que él tomará el río sin inmutarse; y se confía que el Jordán pasará por su boca.

24 H e taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.

Su hacedor lo tomará por sus ojos en tropezaderos, y horadará su nariz.
