1 A nd he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.

¶ Y mirando, vio a los ricos que echaban sus ofrendas en el arca de la limosna.

2 A nd he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.

Y vio también una viuda pobrecilla, que echaba allí dos centavos.

3 A nd he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:

Y dijo: De verdad os digo, que esta pobre viuda echó más que todos;

4 F or all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

porque todos éstos, de lo que les sobra echaron para las ofrendas de Dios; mas ésta de su pobreza echó todo el sustento que tenía.

5 A nd as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,

¶ Y a unos que decían del Templo, que estaba adornado de hermosas piedras y dones, dijo:

6 A s for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Estas cosas que veis, días vendrán que no quedará piedra sobre piedra que no sea destruida.

7 A nd they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

Y le preguntaron, diciendo: Maestro, ¿cuándo será esto? ¿Y qué señal habrá cuando estas cosas hayan de comenzar a ser hechas?

8 A nd he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

El entonces dijo: Mirad, no seáis engañados; porque vendrán muchos en mi nombre, diciendo: Yo soy; y, el tiempo está cerca; por tanto, no vayáis en pos de ellos.

9 B ut when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

Pero cuando oyereis guerras y sediciones, no os espantéis; porque es necesario que estas cosas sean hechas primero; mas aún no será el fin.

10 T hen said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

Entonces les dijo: Se levantarán gentiles contra gentiles, y reino contra reino;

11 A nd great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

y habrá grandes terremotos en cada lugar, y hambres, y pestilencias; y habrá prodigios y grandes señales del cielo.

12 B ut before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

Pero antes de todas estas cosas os echarán mano, y perseguirán, entre-gándoos a las sinagogas y a las cárceles, siendo llevados a los reyes y a los gobernadores por causa de mi nombre.

13 A nd it shall turn to you for a testimony.

Y os será para testimonio.

14 S ettle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

Poned pues en vuestros corazones no pensar antes cómo habéis de responder;

15 F or I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

porque yo os daré boca y sabiduría, a la cual no podrán resistir ni contradecir todos los que se os opondrán.

16 A nd ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

Mas seréis entregados aun de vuestros padres, y hermanos, y parientes, y amigos; y matarán a algunos de vosotros.

17 A nd ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

Y seréis aborrecidos de todos por causa de mi nombre.

18 B ut there shall not an hair of your head perish.

Mas un pelo de vuestra cabeza no perecerá.

19 I n your patience possess ye your souls.

En vuestra paciencia poseeréis vuestras almas.

20 A nd when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

¶ Y cuando viereis a Jerusalén cercada de ejércitos, sabed entonces que su destrucción ha llegado.

21 T hen let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

Entonces los que estuvieren en Judea, huyan a los montes; y los que estuvieren en medio de ella, váyanse; y los que en las otras regiones, no entren en ella.

22 F or these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

Porque éstos son días de venganza, para que se cumplan todas las cosas que están escritas.

23 B ut woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

Mas ¡ay de las que estén encinta, y de las que críen en aquellos días! Porque habrá apretura grande sobre la tierra, e ira en este pueblo.

24 A nd they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Y caerán a filo de espada, y serán llevados cautivos a todas las naciones; y Jerusalén será hollada de los gentiles, hasta que los tiempos de los gentiles sean cumplidos.

25 A nd there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Entonces habrá señales en el sol, y en la luna, y en las estrellas; y en la tierra apretura de las naciones por la confusión del sonido del mar y de las ondas;

26 M en's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

desfalleciendo los hombres a causa del temor y expectación de las cosas que sobrevendrán a la redondez de la tierra; porque las virtudes de los cielos serán conmovidas.

27 A nd then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Y entonces verán al Hijo del hombre, que vendrá en una nube con potestad y gran gloria.

28 A nd when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Y cuando estas cosas comenzaren a hacerse, mirad, y levantad vuestras cabezas, porque vuestra redención está cerca.

29 A nd he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

¶ Y les dijo también una parábola: Mirad la higuera y todos los árboles.

30 W hen they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

Cuando ya brotan, viéndolos, de vosotros mismos entendéis que el verano está ya cerca.

31 S o likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

Así también vosotros, cuando viereis hacerse estas cosas, entended que está cerca el Reino de Dios.

32 V erily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

De cierto os digo, que no pasará esta generación hasta que todo sea hecho.

33 H eaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

El cielo y la tierra pasarán; mas mis palabras no pasarán.

34 A nd take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Y mirad por vosotros, que vuestros corazones no sean cargados de glotonería y embriaguez, y de los cuidados de esta vida, y venga de repente sobre vosotros aquel día.

35 F or as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Porque como un lazo vendrá sobre todos los que habitan sobre la faz de toda la tierra.

36 W atch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Velad pues, orando en todo tiempo, que seáis tenidos por dignos de evitar todas estas cosas que han de venir, y de estar en pie delante del Hijo del hombre.

37 A nd in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.

Y enseñaba de día en el Templo; y de noche saliendo, se estaba en el monte que se llama de las Olivas.

38 A nd all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.

Y todo el pueblo venía a él por la mañana, para oírle en el Templo.
