1 A nd the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

¶ Y oyeron los apóstoles y los hermanos que estaban en Judea, que también los gentiles habían recibido la palabra de Dios.

2 A nd when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,

Cuando Pedro subió a Jerusalén, contendían contra él los que eran de la circuncisión,

3 S aying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.

diciendo: ¿Por qué has entrado a varones que tienen capullo, y has comido con ellos?

4 B ut Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying,

Entonces comenzando Pedro, les declaró por orden lo pasado, diciendo:

5 I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:

Estaba yo en la ciudad de Jope orando, y vi en rapto de entendimiento una visión: un vaso, como un gran lienzo, que descendía, que por los cuatro cabos era bajado del cielo, y venía hasta mí.

6 U pon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

En el cual cuando puse los ojos, consideré y vi animales terrestres de cuatro pies, y bestias fieras, y reptiles, y aves del cielo.

7 A nd I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.

Y oí una voz que me decía: Levántate, Pedro, mata y come.

8 B ut I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.

Y dije: Señor, no; porque ninguna cosa común o inmunda entró jamás en mi boca.

9 B ut the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Entonces la voz me respondió del cielo la segunda vez: Lo que Dios limpió, no lo ensucies tú.

10 A nd this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.

Y esto fue hecho por tres veces; y volvió todo a ser tomado arriba en el cielo.

11 A nd, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me.

Y he aquí, luego sobrevinieron tres hombres a la casa donde yo estaba, enviados a mí de Cesarea.

12 A nd the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man's house:

Y el Espíritu me dijo que fuera con ellos sin dudar. Y vinieron también conmigo estos seis hermanos, y entramos en casa de un varón,

13 A nd he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;

el cual nos contó cómo había visto un ángel en su casa, que se paró, y le dijo: Envía a Jope, y haz venir a un Simón que tiene por sobrenombre Pedro;

14 W ho shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

el cual te hablará palabras por las cuales serás salvo tú, y toda tu casa.

15 A nd as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

Y cuando comencé a hablar, cayó el Espíritu Santo sobre ellos, también como sobre nosotros al principio.

16 T hen remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Entonces me acordé del dicho del Señor, cuando dijo: Juan ciertamente bautizó en agua; mas vosotros seréis bautizados en el Espíritu Santo.

17 F orasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

Así que, si Dios les dio el mismo don también como a nosotros que hemos creído en el Señor Jesús el Cristo, ¿quién era yo que pudiera estorbar a Dios?

18 W hen they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

Entonces, oídas estas cosas, callaron, y glorificaron a Dios, diciendo: De manera que también a los gentiles ha dado Dios arrepentimiento para vida.

19 N ow they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

¶ Y los que habían sido esparcidos por causa de la tribulación que sobrevino en tiempo de Esteban, anduvieron hasta Fenicia, y Chipre, y Antioquía, no hablando a nadie la Palabra, sino sólo a los judíos.

20 A nd some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.

Y de ellos había unos varones ciprianos y cirenences, los cuales cuando entraron en Antioquía, hablaron a los griegos, anunciando el Evangelio del Señor Jesús.

21 A nd the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

Y la mano del Señor era con ellos; y creyendo, gran número se convirtió al Señor.

22 T hen tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

Y llegó la fama (de estas cosas) a oídos de la Iglesia que estaba en Jerusalén; y enviaron a Bernabé que fuera hasta Antioquía.

23 W ho, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

El cual, cuando llegó, y vio la gracia de Dios, se regocijó; y exhortó a todos a que permanecieran en su propósito del corazón en el Señor.

24 F or he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

Porque era varón bueno, y lleno del Espíritu Santo y de fe; y muchas personas fueron agregadas al Señor.

25 T hen departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:

Y partió Bernabé a Tarso a buscar a Saulo; y hallado, lo trajo a Antioquía.

26 A nd when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Y conversaron todo un año allí con la Iglesia, y enseñaron a mucha gente; de tal manera que los discípulos fueron llamados cristianos primeramente en Antioquía.

27 A nd in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.

¶ Y en aquellos días descendieron de Jerusalén profetas a Antioquía.

28 A nd there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

Y levantándose uno de ellos, llamado Agabo, señaló por el Espíritu, que había de haber una gran hambre en toda la redondez de la tierra; la cual hubo en tiempo de Claudio César.

29 T hen the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

Entonces los discípulos, cada uno conforme a lo que tenía, determinaron enviar subsidio a los hermanos que habitaban en Judea;

30 W hich also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

lo cual asimismo hicieron, enviándolo a los ancianos por mano de Bernabé y de Saulo.
