1 N ow these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:

¶ Estos, pues, son los mandamientos, estatutos, y derechos que el SEÑOR vuestro Dios mandó que os enseñara que hagáis en la tierra a la cual pasáis vosotros para heredarla.

2 T hat thou mightest fear the Lord thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

Para que temas al SEÑOR tu Dios, guardando todos sus estatutos y sus mandamientos que yo te mando, tú, y tu hijo, y el hijo de tu hijo, todos los días de tu vida, y que tus días sean prolongados.

3 H ear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

Oye, pues, oh Israel, y guarda que los hagas, para que te vaya bien, y seáis muy multiplicados, (como te ha dicho el SEÑOR el Dios de tus padres) en la tierra que destila leche y miel.

4 H ear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:

¶ Oye, Israel: el SEÑOR nuestro Dios, el SEÑOR uno es.

5 A nd thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Y amarás al SEÑOR tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con todo tu poder.

6 A nd these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

Y estas palabras que yo te mando hoy, estarán sobre tu corazón;

7 A nd thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

y las repetirás a tus hijos, y hablarás de ellas estando en tu casa, y andando por el camino, y acostado en la cama, y levantándote;

8 A nd thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

y has de atarlas por señal en tu mano, y estarán por frontales entre tus ojos;

9 A nd thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

y las escribirás en los postes de tu casa, y en tus portadas.

10 A nd it shall be, when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,

Y será, cuando el SEÑOR tu Dios te hubiere introducido en la tierra que juró a tus padres Abraham, Isaac, y Jacob, para dártela a ti; ciudades grandes y buenas que tú no edificaste;

11 A nd houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;

y casas llenas de todo bien, que tú no llenaste, y cisternas cavadas, que tú no cavaste; viñas y olivares que tú no plantaste; luego que comas y te sacies,

12 T hen beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

guárdate que no te olvides del SEÑOR, que te sacó de tierra de Egipto, de casa de siervos.

13 T hou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

Al SEÑOR tu Dios temerás, y a él servirás, y por su nombre jurarás.

14 Y e shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;

No andaréis en pos de dioses ajenos, de los dioses de los pueblos que están en vuestros contornos;

15 ( For the Lord thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

porque el Dios celoso, el SEÑOR tu Dios, en medio de ti está; que por ventura no se inflame el furor del SEÑOR tu Dios contra ti, y te destruya de sobre la faz de la tierra.

16 Y e shall not tempt the Lord your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

No tentaréis al SEÑOR vuestro Dios, como lo tentasteis en Masah.

17 Y e shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.

¶ Guardad cuidadosamente los mandamientos del SEÑOR vuestro Dios, y sus testimonios, y sus estatutos, que te ha mandado.

18 A nd thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the Lord: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers.

Y harás lo recto y lo bueno en ojos del SEÑOR, para que te vaya bien, y entres y heredes la buena tierra que el SEÑOR juró a tus padres;

19 T o cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the Lord hath spoken.

para que él eche a todos tus enemigos de delante de tu presencia, como el SEÑOR ha dicho.

20 A nd when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord our God hath commanded you?

Cuando mañana te preguntare tu hijo, diciendo: ¿Qué son los testimonios, y estatutos, y derechos, que el SEÑOR nuestro Dios os mandó?

21 T hen thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:

Entonces dirás a tu hijo: Nosotros éramos esclavos de Faraón en Egipto, y el SEÑOR nos sacó de Egipto con mano fuerte;

22 A nd the Lord shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:

y dio el SEÑOR señales y milagros grandes y dañosos en Egipto, sobre Faraón y sobre toda su casa, delante de nuestros ojos;

23 A nd he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.

y nos sacó de allá, para entrarnos y darnos la tierra que juró a nuestros padres;

24 A nd the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

y nos mandó el SEÑOR que hiciéramos todos estos estatutos, para que temamos al SEÑOR nuestro Dios, para nuestro bien siempre, y para que nos dé vida, como hasta hoy.

25 A nd it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.

Y tendremos justicia cuando guardemos haciendo todos estos mandamientos delante del SEÑOR nuestro Dios, como él nos ha mandado.
