1 R ejoice in the Lord, O you righteous; for praise is becoming and appropriate for those who are upright.

ابتَهِجُوا وَرَنِّمُوا بِاللهِ أيُّها الصّالِحُونَ! التَّسبِيحُ لائِقٌ بِمُستَقِيمِي القُلُوبِ!

2 G ive thanks to the Lord with the lyre; sing praises to Him with the harp of ten strings.

سَبِّحُوا اللهَ بِعَزْفِ العُودِ! اعزِفُوا لَهُ بِقِيثارٍ ذِي عَشْرَةِ أوتارٍ.

3 S ing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a loud and joyful sound.

رَنَّمُوا لَهُ تَرنِيمَةً جَدِيدَةً. أحسِنُوا العَزْفَ وَاهتِفُوا فَرَحاً.

4 F or the word of the Lord is right; and all His work is done in faithfulness.

لِأنَّ كَلِمَةَ اللهِ صادِقَةٌ. وَهُوَ أمِينٌ فِي كُلِّ أفعالِهِ.

5 H e loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the loving-kindness of the Lord.

يُحِبُّ الاسْتِقامَةَ وَالعَدلَ. وَالأرْضُ مَلأى بِرَحمَةِ اللهِ وَمَحَبَّتِهِ.

6 B y the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all their host by the breath of His mouth.

بِأمْرِ اللهِ خُلِقَتِ السَّماواتُ. وَكُلُّ نُجُومِ السَّماءِ وُجِدَتْ بِنَسْمَةِ فَمِهِ.

7 H e gathers the waters of the sea as in a bottle; He puts the deeps in storage places.

جَمَعَ مِياهَ البَحْرِ مَعاً، وَوَضَعَ المُحِيطَ فِي مَكانِهِ.

8 L et all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

يا كُلَّ سُكّانِ الأرْضِ اتَّقُوا اللهَ. خافُوهُ يا جَميعَ سُكّانِ المَسكُونَةِ.

9 F or He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

لِأنَّهُ يَقُولُ شَيئاً فَيَكُونَ، وَيأمُرُ فَيَصِيرُ!

10 T he Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nought; He makes the thoughts and plans of the peoples of no effect.

قادِرٌ هُوَ اللهُ عَلَى إبْطالِ مُخَطَّطاتِ الأُمَمِ. وَعَلَى إفْناءِ نَوايا الشُّعُوبِ كُلِّها.

11 T he counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of His heart through all generations.

أمّا قَصْدُ اللهِ فَإلَى الأبَدِ يَدُومُ. خُطَطُهُ تَبقَى جِيلاً بَعْدَ جِيلٍ.

12 B lessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His heritage.

هَنِيئاً لِأُمَّةٍ جَعَلَتْ اللهَ إلَهَها، لِأُمَّةٍ اختارَها اللهُ مُلْكاً.

13 T he Lord looks from heaven, He beholds all the sons of men;

مِنَ السَّماءِ تَطَلَّعَ اللهُ ، وَرَأى البَشَرَ جَمِيعاً.

14 F rom His dwelling place He looks upon all the inhabitants of the earth—

مِنْ عَرشِهِ يُشرِفُ عَلَى كُلِّ سُكّانِ الأرْضِ.

15 H e Who fashions the hearts of them all, Who considers all their doings.

هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَهُمْ كُلَّهُمْ، وَيَفهَمُ كُلَّ ما يَفعَلُونَ.

16 N o king is saved by the great size and power of his army; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

لا يَنتَصِرُ المُلُوكُ بِكَثْرَةِ جُنُودِهِمْ، وَلا يَغلِبُ الجُنُودُ بِقُوَّتِهِمْ.

17 A horse is devoid of value for victory; neither does he deliver any by his great power.

الخَيلُ القَوِيَّةُ لا تَضْمَنُ النَّصْرَ. وَقُوَّتُها لا تُنَجِّي.

18 B ehold, the Lord’s eye is upon those who fear Him, who wait for Him and hope in His mercy and loving-kindness,

ها عَينُ اللهِ تَسْهَرُ عَلَى خائِفِيهِ، يَرْعَى الَّذِينَ يَتَرَقَّبُونَ مَحَبَّتَهُ الصّادِقَةَ.

19 T o deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.

مِنَ المَوْتِ يُنقِذُهُمْ، وَفِي المَجاعَةِ يُحيِيهِمْ.

20 O ur inner selves wait for the Lord; He is our Help and our Shield.

تَتَرَقَّبُ اللهَ نُفُوسُنا، لِأنَّهُ لَنا مُعِينٌ، وَعَنّا مُحامٍ.

21 F or in Him does our heart rejoice, because we have trusted (relied on and been confident) in His holy name.

لِأنَّنا نَفْرَحُ بِهِ. وَعَلَى اسْمِهِ القُدُّوسِ نَتَّكِلُ.

22 L et Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, be upon us, in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You.

ظَلِّلنا يا اللهُ بِرَحمَتِكَ وَمَحَبَّتِكَ، فَرَجاؤُنا هُوَ فِيكَ.
