1 M oreover, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

وَجاءَتْ إليَّ كَلِمَةُ اللهِ:

2 S on of man, set your face against the mountain Seir and prophesy against it,

«انظُرْ يا إنسانُ نَحوَ سَعِيرَ وَتنَبَّأْ ضِدَّها.

3 A nd say to it, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, O Mount Seir, I am against you, and I will stretch out My hand against you and I will make you a desolation and an astonishment.

قُلْ لَهُمْ: ‹هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ الرَّبُّ الإلَهُ: «‹أنا ضِدُّكَ يا جَبَلَ سَعِيرَ، وَقَدْ رَفَعتُ يَدِي لِأضرِبَكَ، لِأُدَمِّرُ أرْضَكَ بِالكامِلِ.

4 I will lay your cities waste and you shall be desolate, and you shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord.

سَأُحَوِّلُ مُدُنَكَ إلَى خَرائِبَ، وَاُدَمِّرُها بِالكامِلِ. حِينَئِذٍ، تَعلَمُ أنِّي أنا اللهُ.

5 B ecause you have had a perpetual enmity and you gave over the sons of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, when they were suffering their final punishment,

لأنَّكَ كَرِهتَ إسْرائِيلَ، وَجَعَلْتَ مِنْ نَفسِكَ عَدُوّاً لَها إلَى الأبَدِ، وَأسلَمْتَ بَني إسْرائِيلَ لِيُقتَلُوا بِالسَّيفِ فِي يَومِ حُلولِ الكارِثَةِ عَلَيهِمْ، فِي وَقتِ عِقابِهِمِ النِّهائِيِّ.›»

6 T herefore, as I live, says the Lord God, I will expose you to slaughter and slaughter shall pursue you; since you could not bear to live without bloodshed, therefore bloodshed shall pursue you.

هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ الرَّبُّ الإلَهُ: «أُقسِمُ بِذاتِي إنِّي سَأُعِدُّكَ لِسَفكِ الدَّمِ، فَيُلاحِقُكَ الدَّمُ أينَما ذَهبتَ. أنتَ لَمْ تَرفُضْ سَفكَ الدَّمِ، لِذَلِكَ سَيُلاحِقُكَ سَفكُ الدَّمِ.

7 T hus will I make Mount Seir an astonishment and a desolation, and I will cut off from it him who passes through it and him who returns.

سَأُحَوِّلُ جَبَل سَعِيرٍ إلَى خَرابٍ كامِلٍ، وَسَأُوقِفُ كُلَّ سَفَرٍ عَبرَ أرْضِكَ.

8 A nd I will fill mountains with his slain men; on your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines shall those fall who are slain with the sword.

وَسَأُغَطِّي جِبالَكَ وَتِلالَكَ وَوِديانَكَ وَجَداوِلَكَ بِجُثَثِكَ، جُثَثِ رِجالٍ سَقَطُوا بِالسَّيفِ هُناكَ.

9 I will make you a perpetual desolation and your cities shall not be inhabited. Then you will know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord.

سَتَكونَ أرْضُكَ خَراباً إلَى الأبَدِ، وَلَنْ تَعُودَ مُدُنُكَ تُسكَنُ. حِينَئِذٍ، تَعلَمُ أنِّي أنا اللهُ.

10 B ecause you said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine and we will take possession of them—although the Lord was there,

لِأنَّكَ قُلتَ: «سَنَأخُذُ أرْضَ هَذِينِ الشَّعبَينِ وَهَذَينِ البَلَدَينِ وَممتَلَكاتِهِما.›» مَعَ أنَّ اللهُ يَسكُنُ فِيهما

11 T herefore, as I live, says the Lord God, I will deal with you according to the anger and envy you showed because of your enmity for them, and I will make Myself known among them when I judge and punish you.

فَهَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ الرَّبُّ الإلَهُ: «أُقسِمُ بِذاتِي، إنِّي سَأتَعامَلُ مَعَكُمْ بِحَسَبِ غَضَبِكُمْ وَحَسَدِكُمُ اللَّذَينِ ظَهَرا بِسَبِبِ كُرهِكُمْ لِشَعبِي. سَأُدِينُكُمْ فَيَعلَمَ شَعبِي أنَّنِي فِي وَسَطِهِمْ.

12 A nd you shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord, and that I have heard all your revilings and scornful speeches that you have uttered against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid waste and desolate; they are given to us to devour.

وَسَتَعلَمُونَ أنتُمْ أنِّي أنا اللهُ. «قَدْ سَمِعْتُ كُلَّ الشَّتائِمِ الَّتِي تَكَلَّمْتُمْ بِها ضِدَّ جِبالِ إسْرائِيلَ. قُلْتُمْ: ‹قَدْ هَلَكُوا وَصارُوا طَعاماً لَنا!›

13 T hus you have boasted and magnified yourselves against Me with your mouth, multiplying your words against Me; I have heard it.

تَفاخَرْتُمْ وَتَكَلَّمْتُمْ عَلَيَّ. تَفاخَرْتُمْ بِأوثانِكُمْ أمامِي، وَأنا قَدْ سَمِعْتُ!»

14 T hus says the Lord God: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you a waste and desolation.

لِذا، هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ الرَّبُّ الإلَهُ: «سَتَفرَحُ الأرْضُ حِينَ أُدَمِّرُكُمْ.

15 A s you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so will I deal with you; you shall be a waste and desolation, O Mount Seir and all Edom, all of it. Then they shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord.

كَما فَرِحْتُمْ بِخَرابِ أرْضَ بَيتِ إسْرائِيلَ. فَكَذَلِكَ سَأفعَلُ بِكُمْ. سَيَخْرَبُ جَبَلُ سَعِيرَ، بَلْ كُلُّ أدُومَ! حِينَئِذٍ، سَتَعرِفُونَ أنِّي أنا اللهُ.»
