1 N ow the leaders of the people dwelt at Jerusalem; the rest of the people also cast lots to bring one of ten to dwell in Jerusalem, the holy city, while nine-tenths dwelt in other towns and villages.

وَانْتَقَلَ قادَةُ الشَّعبِ لِلسَّكَنِ فِي القُدْسِ. وَأُلقِيَتِ القُرْعَةُ لاخْتِيارِ واحِدٍ مِنْ كُلِّ عَشْرَةٍ مِنَ الشَّعبِ وَإلزامِهِ بِالسَّكَنِ فِي القُدْسِ، المَدِينَةِ المُقَدَّسَةِ، بَينَما يَبْقَى التِّسْعَةُ الآخَرُونَ فِي المُدُنِ الأُخرَى.

2 A nd the people blessed all the men who willingly offered to live in Jerusalem.

وَبارَكَ الشَّعبُ الَّذِينَ تَطَوَّعُوا لِلعَيشِ فِي القُدْسِ.

3 T hese are the province chiefs who dwelt in Jerusalem, but in the towns of Judah everyone lived on his property there—Israelites, the priests, the Levites, the temple servants, and the descendants of Solomon’s servants.

وَهَذِهِ أسْماءُ قادَةِ المَناطِقِ الَّذِينَ اسْتَقَرُّوا فِي القُدْسِ. أمّا فِي مُدُنِ يَهُوذا فَقَدْ سَكَنَ كُلُّ واحِدٍ فِي بَيتِهِ فِي مَدِينَتِهِ: الكَهَنَةُ وَالَّلاوِيُّونَ وَخُدّامُ الهَيكَلِ وَنَسلُ خُدّامِ سُلَيْمانَ.

4 A nd at Jerusalem dwelt certain of the sons of Judah and Benjamin. Of Judah: Athaiah son of Uzziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalalel, of the sons of Perez;

وَسَكَنَتْ بَعضُ العائِلاتِ الَّتِي مِنْ نَسلِ يَهُوذا وَبَنْيامِيْنَ فِي القُدْسِ. وهَؤُلاءِ هُمُ الَّذِينَ سَكَنُوا فِي القُدْسِ مِنْ نَسلِ يَهُوذا: عَثايا بْنُ عُزِّيّا بْنِ زَكَرِيّا بْنِ إمْرِيّا بْنِ شَفَطْيا بْنِ مَهلَلْئِيلَ مِنْ بَنِي فارَصَ،

5 M aaseiah son of Baruch, the son of Col-hozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, the son of the Shilonite.

وَمَعَسِيّا بْنُ بارُوخَ بْنِ كَلْحُوزَةَ بْنِ حَزايا بْنِ عَدايا بْنِ يُويارِيبَ بْنِ زَكَرِيّا بْنِ الشِّيلُونِيِّ.

6 A ll the sons of Perez who dwelt at Jerusalem were 468 valiant men.

وَوَصَلَ مَجمُوعُ بَنِي فارَصَ السّاكِنِينَ فِي القُدْسِ إلَى أرْبَعِ مِئَةٍ وَثَمانِيَةٍ وَسِتِّينَ رَجُلاً شُجاعاً.

7 T hese are the sons of Benjamin: Sallu son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, son of Jeshaiah,

وَهَؤُلاءِ هُمْ بَنُو بَنْيامِيْنَ الَّذِينَ سَكَنُوا فِي القُدْسِ: سَلُّو بْنُ مَشُلّامَ بْنِ يُوعِيدَ بْنِ فَدايا بْنِ قُولايا بْنِ مَعَسِيّا بْنِ إيثِيئِيلَ بْنِ يَشَعْيا،

8 A nd after him Gabbai and Sallai, 928.

وَبَعْدَهُ جِبّايُ وَسِلايُ، وَمَجمُوعُهُمْ تِسْعُ مِئَةٍ وَثَمانِيَةٌ وَعِشْرِينَ رَجُلاً.

9 J oel son of Zichri was overseer, and Judah son of Hassenuah was second over the city.

وَكانَ يُوئِيلُ بنُ زِكْرِي رَئِيسَهُمْ عَنْهُمْ. وَكانَ يَهُوذا بنُ هَسْنُوءَةَ مَسْؤُولاً عَنْ القِسْمِ الثّانِي مِنَ المَدينَةِ

10 O f the priests: Jedaiah son of Joiarib; Jachin;

وَمِنَ الكَهَنَةِ يَدَعْيا بنُ يُويارِيبَ وَياكِينَ،

11 S eraiah son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, ruler of the house of God,

وَسَرايا بنُ حِلْقِيّا بِنِ مَشُلّامَ بِنِ صادُوقَ بِنِ مَرايوثَ بِنِ أحِيطُوبَ المَسْؤُولِ عَنْ بَيْتِ اللهِ،

12 A nd their brethren, who did the work of the house, 822; and Adaiah son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah,

وَأقْرِباؤُهُمُ المَسْؤُولُونَ عَنِ العَمَلِ فِي الهَيْكَلِ، وَمَجمُوعُهُمْ ثَمانُ مِئَةٍ وَإثْنانِ وَعِشْرُونَ رَجُلاً. وَعَدايا بْنُ يَرُوحامَ بْنِ فَلَلْيا بْنِ أمصِي بْنِ زَكَرِيّا بْنِ فَشْحُورَ بْنِ مَلْكِيّا،

13 A nd his brethren, chiefs of fathers’ houses, 242; and Amashsai son of Azarel, the son of Ahzai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer,

وَأقْرِباؤُهُ مِنْ وُجَهاءِ القَبِيلَةِ، وَمَجمُوعُهُمْ مِئَتانٍ وَاثْنانِ وَأرْبَعُونَ رَجُلاً. وَكانَ أيضاً عَمْشِتايُ بْنُ عَزَرْئِيلَ بْنِ أخزايا بْنِ مَشلِيمُوثَ بْنِ إمِّيرَ،

14 A nd their brethren, mighty men of valor, 128. Their overseer was Zabdiel son of Haggedolim.

وَأقْرِباؤُهُ، وَهُمْ مُحارِبُونَ شُجعانٌ. وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَةٌ وَثَمانِيَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ رَجُلاً. وَرَئِيسُهُمْ زَبْدِيئِيلَ بْنُ هَجْدُولِيمَ.

15 A nd of the Levites: Shemaiah son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Bunni;

وَاسْتَقَرَّ فِي القُدْسِ مِنَ الَّلاوِيِّينَ شَمَعْيا بْنُ حَشُّوبَ بْنِ عَزْرِيقامَ بْنِ حَشَبْيا بْنِ بُونِّي،

16 A nd Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the chiefs of the Levites, who had charge of the outside work of the house of God;

وَشَبْتايُ وَيُوزابادُ، وَهُما مِنْ قادَةِ الَّلاوِيِّينَ، وَكانا مَسْؤُولَينِ عَنِ العَمَلِ الخارِجِيِّ لِبَيتِ اللهِ.

17 M attaniah son of Mica, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, the leader to begin the thanksgiving in prayer; and Bakbukiah, second among his brethren; and Abda son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.

وَمَتَّنْيا بْنُ مِيخا بْنِ زَبْدِي بْنِ آسافَ قائِدِ المُرَنِّمِينَ الَّذِي يَقُودُ تَرانِيمَ الشُّكْرِ أثناءَ الصَّلاةِ، وَبَقْبُقْيا، وَهُوَ الثّانِي أهَمِّيَّةً بَينَ أقْرِبائِهِ، وَعَبْدا بْنُ شَمُّوعَ بْنِ جَلالَ بْنِ يَدُوثُونَ.

18 T he Levites in the holy city were 284.

وَكانَ مَجمُوعُ الَّلاوِيِّينَ فِي القُدْسِ مِئَتَيْنِ وَثَمانِيَةً وَأرْبَعَينَ.

19 T he gatekeepers: Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren, who kept watch, were 172.

أمّا حُرّاسُ الأبوابِ عَقُوبُ وَطَلْمُونُ وَأقْرِباؤُهُما، فَكانَ عَدَدُهُمْ مِئَةً وَاثْنَينِ وَسَبْعِينَ.

20 A nd the rest of Israel, with the priests and the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, each in his inheritance.

وَسَكَنَتْ بَقِيَّةُ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ وَالكَهَنَةُ وَالَّلاوِيُّونَ فِي كُلِّ مُدُنِ يَهُوذا، كُلُّ واحِدٍ فِي الأرْضِ الَّتِي وَرَثَها عَنْ آبائِهِ.

21 B ut the temple servants dwelt on Ophel; Ziha and Gishpa were over.

وَسَكَنَ خُدّامُ الهَيكَلِ عَلَى تَلِّ أُوفِيلَ، وَكانَ صِيحا وَجِشْفا مَسْؤُولَينِ عَنْ خُدّامِ الهَيكَلِ.

22 O verseer of the Levites in Jerusalem and the work of God’s house was Uzzi son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Mica, of Asaph’s sons, the singers.

وَكان رَئِيسُ الَّلاوِيِّينَ فِي القُدْسِ عُزِّي بْنُ حَشَبَيا بْنِ مَتَّنْيا بْنِ مِيخا مِنْ نَسلِ آسافَ، وَكانُوا مَسْؤُولِينَ عَنْ خِدْمَةِ بَيتِ اللهِ.

23 F or the king had ordered concerning them that a certain provision be made for the singers, as each day required.

وَكانُوا يَقُومُونَ بِواجِباتِهِم بِحَسَبِ التَّعلِيماتِ الَّتِي تَرَكَها المَلِكُ داوُدَ يَوْماً فَيَوْماً.

24 P ethahiah son of Meshezabel, of the sons of Zerah son of Judah, was at the king’s hand in all matters concerning the people.

وَكانَ فَتَحْيا بْنُ مَشِيزَبْئِيلَ مِنْ نَسلِ زارَحَ بْنِ يَهُوذا مُسْتَشاراً لِلمَلِكِ فِي كُلِّ الأُمُورِ المُتَعَلِّقَةِ بِالشَّعْبِ.

25 A s for the villages with their fields, some people of Judah dwelt in Kiriath-arba, Dibon, and Jekabzeel, and their villages,

أمّا بِالنِّسْبَةِ إلَى القُرَى وَحُقُولِها، فَقَدْ سَكَنَ بَعْضُ بَنِي يَهُوذا فِي قَرْيَةِ أرْبَعَ وَمُسْتَوْطَناتِها وَدِيبُونَ وَمُسْتَوْطَناتِها وَفِي يَقْبَصِئِيلَ وَقُراها،

26 I n Jeshua, Moladah, Beth-pelet,

وَفِي يَشُوعَ وَمُولادَةَ وَبَيتِ فالِطَ،

27 H azar-shual, Beersheba and its villages,

وَفِي حَصَرَ شُوعالَ وَبِئْرِ سَبْعٍ وَمُسْتَوطَناتِها،

28 Z iklag, Meconah and its villages,

وَفِي صِقلَغَ وَمَكُونَةَ وَمُسْتَوْطَناتِها،

29 E n-rimmon, Zorah, Jarmuth,

وَفِي عَينِ رِمُّونَ وَصَرْعَةَ وَيَرْمُوثَ،

30 Z anoah, Adullam, and their villages, Lachish and its fields, Azekah and its villages. So they encamped from Beersheba to the Hinnom Valley.

وَفِي زانُوحَ وَعَدُلّامَ وَقُراهُما، وَلَخِيشَ وَحُقُولِها وَعَزِيقَةَ وَمُسْتَوْطَناتِها. وَهَكَذا سَكَنُوا فِي البِلادِ مِنْ بِئْرِ سَبْعٍ إلَى وادِي هِنُّومَ.

31 T he people of Benjamin also dwelt from Geba onward, at Michmash, Aija, Bethel and its villages,

وَسَكَنَ بَعْضُ بَنِي بَنْيامِيْنَ فِي جَبَعَ وَمِخْماسَ وَعَيّا وَبَيتَ إيلَ وَمُسْتَوْطَناتِها،

32 A t Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah,

وَفِي عَناثُوثَ وَنُوبٍ وَعَنَنْيَةَ،

33 H azor, Ramah, Gittaim,

وَحاصُورَ وَرامَةَ وَجِتّايِمَ،

34 H adid, Zeboim, Neballat,

وَحادِيدَ وَصَبُوعِيمَ وَنَبَلّاطَ،

35 L od, and Ono, the Valley of the Craftsmen.

وَلُودَ وَأُونُو وَوادِي الحِرْفِيِّينَ.

36 A nd certain divisions of the Levites in Judah were joined to Benjamin.

وَانتَقَلَ بَعضُ الَّلاوِيِّينَ مِنْ أرْضِ يَهُوذا إلَى أرْضِ بَنْيامِيْنَ.
