1 I will sing of the mercy and loving-kindness of the Lord forever; with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness from generation to generation.

سَأتَغَنَّى عَلَى الدَّوامِ بِرَحمَتِكَ يا اللهُ. وَسَأُخبِرُ بِلِسانِي عَنْ أمانَتِكَ جِيلاً بَعدَ جِيلٍ!

2 F or I have said, Mercy and loving-kindness shall be built up forever; Your faithfulness will You establish in the very heavens.

كَما قُلْتُ: «رَحمَتُكَ هِيَ إلَى الأبَدِ، مِثلُ السَّماواتِ. وَإخلاصُكَ ثابِتٌ كَالسَّماواتِ.»

3 I have made a covenant with My chosen one, I have sworn to David My servant,

أنتَ قُلْتَ: «قَطَعْتُ عَهداً مَعَ مُختارِي، حَلَفْتُ لِخادِمِي داوُدَ:

4 Y our Seed I will establish forever, and I will build up your throne for all generations. Selah!

‹إلَى الأبَدِ سَأُبقِي نَسلَكَ، وَسَأُثَبِّتُ عَرشَكَ جِيلاً بَعدَ جِيلٍ.›» سِلاهْ

5 L et heaven (the angels) praise Your wonders, O Lord, Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones (the holy angels).

السَّماواتُ سَتُسَبِّحُكَ عَلَى عَجائِبِكَ يا اللهُ! وَجَماعَةُ المُقَدَّسِينَ عَلَى أمانَتِكَ.

6 F or who in the heavens can be compared to the Lord? Who among the mighty can be likened to the Lord,

مَنْ فِي السَّماءِ يُعادِلُ اللهَ ؟ أوْ مَنْ بَينَ الآلِهَةِ الأُخرَى يُقارَنُ بِاللهِ ؟

7 A God greatly feared and revered in the council of the holy (angelic) ones, and to be feared and worshipfully revered above all those who are round about Him?

مَهابَةُ اللهِ هِيَ فِي اجتِماعِ المُقَدَّسِينَ، هُوَ أعظَمُ وَأرهَبُ مِنْ كُلِّ المُحِيطينَ بِهِ.

8 O Lord God of hosts, who is a mighty one like unto You, O Lord? And Your faithfulness is round about You.

أيُّها الإلَهُ القَدِيرُ، مَنْ مِثلُكَ جَبّارٌ يا اللهُ ؟ أمانَتُكَ كَثِيرَةٌ جِدّاً!

9 Y ou rule the raging of the sea; when its waves arise, You still them.

تَحكُمُ البَحرَ القَوِيَّ، وَتُهَدِّئُ الأمواجَ العاتِيَةَ.

10 Y ou have broken Rahab (Egypt) in pieces; with Your mighty arm You have scattered Your enemies.

أنتَ سَحَقتَ رَهَبَ، بِذِراعِكَ القَوِيَّةِ بَعثَرتَ أعداءَكَ.

11 T he heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; the world and all that is in it, You have founded them.

السَّماواتُ وَالأرْضُ وَكُلُّ شَيءٍ عَلَيها لَكَ. أنتَ خَلَقتَها كُلَّها!

12 T he north and the south, You have created them; Mount Tabor and Mount Hermon joyously praise Your name.

أنتَ خَلَقتَ الشَّمالَ وَالجَنُوبَ! جَبَلُ تابُورَ وَجَبَلُ حَرمُونَ يُغَنِّيانِ فَرَحاً عِندَ ذْكرِ اسْمِكَ!

13 Y ou have a mighty arm; strong is Your hand, Your right hand is soaring high.

قَوِيَّةٌ هِيَ ذِراعُكَ! يَدُكَ مَلأى قُدرَةً! وَيَمِينُكَ مَرفُوعَةٌ بِالنَّصرِ!

14 R ighteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; mercy and loving-kindness and truth go before Your face.

عَرشُكَ عَلَى الصَّلاحِ وَالعَدلِ قائِمٌ! الإخلاصُ وَالأمانَةُ يَسِيرانِ أمامَكَ!

15 B lessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are the people who know the joyful sound; they walk, O Lord, in the light and favor of Your countenance!

هَنِيئاً يا اللهُ لِمَنْ يُمَيِّزُونَ بُوقَ دَعوَتِكَ إلَى الاجتِماعِ لِلعِبادَةِ، الَّذِينَ يَعِيشُونَ فِي نُورِ حُضُورِكَ!

16 I n Your name they rejoice all the day, and in Your righteousness they are exalted.

طَوالَ اليَومِ يَبتَهِجُونَ بِتَسبِيحِ اسْمِكَ. وَأعمالُكَ الصّالِحَةُ تَرفَعُهُمْ.

17 F or You are the glory of their strength, and by Your favor our horn is exalted and we walk with uplifted faces!

فَأنتَ قُوَّتُهُمُ العَجِيبَةُ! وَحِينَما تَشاءُ يَتَمَجَّدُونَ!

18 F or our shield belongs to the Lord, and our king to the Holy One of Israel.

لأنَّ حامِينا يَأتِي مِنْ عِندِ اللهِ ، مَلِكُنا هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ قُدُّوسِ إسرائِيلَ!

19 O nce You spoke in a vision to Your devoted ones and said, I have endowed one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from among the people.

وَلِهَذا كَلَّمتَ أتباعَكَ الأُمَناءَ فِي رُؤيا وَقُلتَ: «أعْطَيْتُ عَوْناً وَقُوَّةً لِمُحارِبٍ. رَفَعْتُ شابّاً مِنْ بَينِ عامَّةِ النّاسِ!

20 I have found David My servant; with My holy oil have I anointed him,

وَجَدتُ خادِمِي داوُدَ، وَمَسَحْتُهُ بِزَيتِيَ المُقَدَّسِ.

21 W ith whom My hand shall be established and ever abide; My arm also shall strengthen him.

يَدِي سَتَسنِدُهُ. وَذِراعِي سَتُشَدِّدُهُ!

22 T he enemy shall not exact from him or do him violence or outwit him, nor shall the wicked afflict and humble him.

لَنْ يَغلِبَهُ عَدُوٌّ، وَلَنْ يَقوَى عَلَيهِ شِرِّيرٌ.

23 I will beat down his foes before his face and smite those who hate him.

سَأسحَقُ خُصُومَهُ أمامَهُ. وَسَأهزِمُ مُبغِضِيهِ.

24 M y faithfulness and My mercy and loving-kindness shall be with him, and in My name shall his horn be exalted.

أمانَتِي وَنِعمَتِي يُلازِمانِهِ، وَبِاسمِيَ سَيَرفَعُ رَأسَهُ مُنتَصِراً.

25 I will set his hand in control also on the Sea, and his right hand on the rivers.

عَلَى البَحرِ وَالأنهارِ سَأمُدُّ سَيطَرَتَهُ.

26 H e shall cry to Me, You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation!

سَيَقُولُ لِي: ‹أنتَ أبِي وَإلَهِي، أنتَ الصَّخرَةُ الَّتِي تُخَلِّصُنِي.›

27 A lso I will make him the firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.

وَسَأجعَلُهُ بِكْرِيَ، الأعلَى بَينَ مُلُوكِ الأرْضِ!

28 M y mercy and loving-kindness will I keep for him forevermore, and My covenant shall stand fast and be faithful with him.

إلَى الأبَدِ سَأحفَظُ لَهُ مَحَبَّتِي وَعَهدِيَ الأمينَ مَعَهُ!

29 H is Offspring also will I make to endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

إلَى الأبَدِ سَأُثَبِّتُ نَسلَهُ، وَمُلْكُهُ سَيَدُومُ دَوامَ السَّماواتِ.

30 I f his children forsake My law and walk not in My ordinances,

قَدْ يَترُكُ أبناؤُهُ شَرِيعَتِي. وَلا يُطِيعُونَ أحكامِي.

31 I f they break or profane My statutes and keep not My commandments,

وَقَدْ يَنتَهِكُونَ حُرمَةَ مَبادِئِي، وَلا يَحفَظُونَ أوامِرِي.

32 T hen will I punish their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.

عِندَئِذٍ سَأُحاسِبُهُمْ عَلَى جَرائِمِهِمْ وَأضرِبُهُمْ بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِهِمْ.

33 N evertheless, My loving-kindness will I not break off from him, nor allow My faithfulness to fail.

لَكِنِّي لَنْ أسحَبَ مَحَبَّتِي لَهُ، وَلَنْ أنقُضَ إخلاصِي لَهُ!

34 M y covenant will I not break or profane, nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips.

لَنْ أخرِقَ عَهدِي مَعَهُ، وَلَنْ أُغَيِّرَ ما تَكَلَّمْتُ بِهِ لَهُ!

35 O nce have I sworn by My holiness, which cannot be violated; I will not lie to David:

أحلِفُ بِقَداسَتِي إنِّي لا أكذِبُ عَلَى داوُدَ.

36 H is Offspring shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before Me.

إلَى الأبَدِ سَيَدُومُ نَسلُهُ! وَعَرشُهُ سَيَدُومُ أمامِي دَوامَ الشَّمسِ!

37 I t shall be established forever as the moon, the faithful witness in the heavens. Selah!

كَالقَمَرِ سَيَدُومُونَ إلَى الأبَدِ! وَالشّاهِدُ الَّذِي فِي السَّماءِ جَدِيرٌ بِالثِّقَةِ!» سِلاهْ

38 B ut You have cast off and rejected; You have been full of wrath against Your anointed.

لَكِنَّكَ تَرَكتَ المَلِكَ الَّذِي مَسَحتَهُ، رَفَضْتَهُ وَعاقَبْتَهُ.

39 Y ou have despised and loathed and renounced the covenant with Your servant; You have profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.

رَفَضْتَ العَهدَ مَعَ خادِمِكَ. لَوَّثْتَ تاجَهُ مُلقِياً إيّاهُ عَلَى الأرْضِ.

40 Y ou have broken down all his hedges and his walls; You have brought his strongholds to ruin.

هَدَمتَ سُورَ الحِمايَةِ حَولَ مَدِينَتِهِ. سَحَقتَ حِصنَهُ تُراباً.

41 A ll who pass along the road spoil and rob him; he has become the scorn and reproach of his neighbors.

سَلَبَهُ عابِرُو السَّبِيلِ. وَاحتَقَرَهُ جِيرانَهُ.

42 Y ou have exalted the right hand of his foes; You have made all his enemies rejoice.

عَلَّيْتَ يَمينَ خُصُومِهِ، وَفَرَّحتَ جَميعَ أعداءَهُ.

43 M oreover, You have turned back the edge of his sword and have not made him to stand in battle.

وَضَعَ الصَّخرَةُ سَيفَهُ فِي غِمدِهِ. وَعَوناً لَمْ يُقَدِّمْ فِي المَعرَكَةِ!

44 Y ou have made his glory and splendor to cease and have hurled to the ground his throne.

أَنهَيْتَ مَجدَهُ. أَزَحتَ عَرشَهُ مِنْ مَكانِهِ، وَألقَيْتَهُ إلَى الأرْضِ.

45 T he days of his youth have You shortened; You have covered him with shame. Selah!

قَصَّرْتَ أيّامَ شَبابِهِ، وَبِالعارِ غَطَّيْتَهُ. سِلاهْ

46 H ow long, O Lord? Will You hide Yourself forever? How long shall Your wrath burn like fire?

حَتَّى مَتَى يا اللهُ سَتُخْفِي نَفْسَكَ؟ أإلَى الأبَدِ سَيَتَّقِدُ كَالنّارِ غَضَبُكَ؟

47 O remember how short my time is and what a mere fleeting life mine is. For what emptiness, falsity, futility, and frailty You have created all men!

تَذكَّرْ أنَّنا جَمِيعاً فانُونَ، وَأنَّ كُلَّ البَشَرِ كَبُخارٍ.

48 W hat man can live and shall not see death, or can deliver himself from the hand of Sheol (the place of the dead)? Selah!

ما مِنْ إنسانٍ يَحيا وَلا يَرَى المَوتَ أيضاً. ما مِنْ أحَدٍ يَقدِرُ أنْ يَحمِيَ نَفسَهُ مِنْ قُوَّةِ الهاوِيَةِ.

49 L ord, where are Your former loving-kindnesses, which You swore to David in Your faithfulness?

أينَ يا رَبُّ رَحْمَتُكَ الَّتِي أظهَرتَها فِي البِدايَةِ، الَّتِي حَلَفْتَ بِها بِإخلاصٍ لِداوُدَ؟

50 R emember, Lord, and earnestly imprint the reproach of Your servants, scorned and insulted, how I bear in my bosom the reproach of all the many and mighty peoples,

اذْكُرْ يا رَبُّ العارَ الَّذِي يَحتَمِلُهُ خُدّامُكَ. أعِنِّي فَأُعَزِّي كُلَّ هَؤُلاءِ النّاسِ.

51 W ith which Your enemies have taunted, O Lord, with which they have mocked the footsteps of Your anointed.

اذْكُرْ إهاناتِ أعدائِكَ يا اللهُ ، الَّذِينَ أهانُوا المَلِكَ الَّذِي مَسَحتَهُ.

52 B lessed be the Lord forevermore! Amen and Amen.

بارِكُوا اللهَ إلَى الأبَدِ. آمِينَ ثُمَّ آمِينَ.
