2 F or I have said, Mercy and loving-kindness shall be built up forever; Your faithfulness will You establish in the very heavens.

Porque dije: Para siempre será edificada misericordia; En los mismos cielos apoyarás tu verdad.

3 I have made a covenant with My chosen one, I have sworn to David My servant,

Hice alianza con mi escogido; Juré á David mi siervo: diciendo.

4 Y our Seed I will establish forever, and I will build up your throne for all generations. Selah!

Para siempre confirmaré tu simiente, Y edificaré tu trono por todas las generaciones. (Selah.)

5 L et heaven (the angels) praise Your wonders, O Lord, Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones (the holy angels).

Y celebrarán los cielos tu maravilla, oh Jehová; Tu verdad también en la congregación de los santos.

6 F or who in the heavens can be compared to the Lord? Who among the mighty can be likened to the Lord,

Porque ¿quién en los cielos se igualará con Jehová? ¿Quién será semejante á Jehová entre los hijos de los potentados?

7 A God greatly feared and revered in the council of the holy (angelic) ones, and to be feared and worshipfully revered above all those who are round about Him?

Dios terrible en la grande congregación de los santos, Y formidable sobre todos cuantos están alrededor suyo.

8 O Lord God of hosts, who is a mighty one like unto You, O Lord? And Your faithfulness is round about You.

Oh Jehová, Dios de los ejércitos, ¿Quién como tú? Poderoso eres, Jehová, Y tu verdad está en torno de ti.

9 Y ou rule the raging of the sea; when its waves arise, You still them.

Tú tienes dominio sobre la bravura de la mar: Cuando se levantan sus ondas, tú las sosiegas.

10 Y ou have broken Rahab (Egypt) in pieces; with Your mighty arm You have scattered Your enemies.

Tú quebrantaste á Rahab como á un muerto: Con el brazo de tu fortaleza esparciste á tus enemigos.

11 T he heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; the world and all that is in it, You have founded them.

Tuyos los cielos, tuya también la tierra: El mundo y su plenitud, tú lo fundaste.

12 T he north and the south, You have created them; Mount Tabor and Mount Hermon joyously praise Your name.

Al aquilón y al austro tú los criaste: Tabor y Hermón cantarán en tu nombre.

13 Y ou have a mighty arm; strong is Your hand, Your right hand is soaring high.

Tuyo el brazo con valentía; Fuerte es tu mano, ensalzada tu diestra.

14 R ighteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; mercy and loving-kindness and truth go before Your face.

Justicia y juicio son el asiento de tu trono: Misericordia y verdad van delante de tu rostro.

15 B lessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are the people who know the joyful sound; they walk, O Lord, in the light and favor of Your countenance!

Bienaventurado el pueblo que sabe aclamarte: Andarán, oh Jehová, á la luz de tu rostro.

16 I n Your name they rejoice all the day, and in Your righteousness they are exalted.

En tu nombre se alegrarán todo el día; Y en tu justicia serán ensalzados.

17 F or You are the glory of their strength, and by Your favor our horn is exalted and we walk with uplifted faces!

Porque tú eres la gloria de su fortaleza; Y por tu buena voluntad ensalzarás nuestro cuerno.

18 F or our shield belongs to the Lord, and our king to the Holy One of Israel.

Porque Jehová es nuestro escudo; Y nuestro rey es el Santo de Israel.

19 O nce You spoke in a vision to Your devoted ones and said, I have endowed one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from among the people.

Entonces hablaste en visión á tu santo, Y dijiste: Yo he puesto el socorro sobre valiente; He ensalzado un escogido de mi pueblo.

20 I have found David My servant; with My holy oil have I anointed him,

Hallé á David mi siervo; Ungílo con el aceite de mi santidad.

21 W ith whom My hand shall be established and ever abide; My arm also shall strengthen him.

Mi mano será firme con él, Mi brazo también lo fortificará.

22 T he enemy shall not exact from him or do him violence or outwit him, nor shall the wicked afflict and humble him.

No lo avasallará enemigo, Ni hijo de iniquidad lo quebrantará.

23 I will beat down his foes before his face and smite those who hate him.

Mas yo quebrantaré delante de él á sus enemigos, Y heriré á sus aborrecedores.

24 M y faithfulness and My mercy and loving-kindness shall be with him, and in My name shall his horn be exalted.

Y mi verdad y mi misericordia serán con él; Y en mi nombre será ensalzado su cuerno.

25 I will set his hand in control also on the Sea, and his right hand on the rivers.

Asimismo pondré su mano en la mar, Y en los ríos su diestra.

26 H e shall cry to Me, You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation!

El me llamará: Mi padre eres tú, Mi Dios, y la roca de mi salud.

27 A lso I will make him the firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.

Yo también le pondré por primogénito, Alto sobre los reyes de la tierra.

28 M y mercy and loving-kindness will I keep for him forevermore, and My covenant shall stand fast and be faithful with him.

Para siempre le conservaré mi misericordia; Y mi alianza será firme con él.

29 H is Offspring also will I make to endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

Y pondré su simiente para siempre, Y su trono como los días de los cielos.

30 I f his children forsake My law and walk not in My ordinances,

Si dejaren sus hijos mi ley, Y no anduvieren en mis juicios;

31 I f they break or profane My statutes and keep not My commandments,

Si profanaren mis estatutos, Y no guardaren mis mandamientos;

32 T hen will I punish their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.

Entonces visitaré con vara su rebelión, Y con azotes sus iniquidades.

33 N evertheless, My loving-kindness will I not break off from him, nor allow My faithfulness to fail.

Mas no quitaré de él mi misericordia, Ni falsearé mi verdad.

34 M y covenant will I not break or profane, nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips.

No olvidaré mi pacto, Ni mudaré lo que ha salido de mis labios.

35 O nce have I sworn by My holiness, which cannot be violated; I will not lie to David:

Una vez he jurado por mi santidad, Que no mentiré á David.

36 H is Offspring shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before Me.

Su simiente será para siempre, Y su trono como el sol delante de mí.

37 I t shall be established forever as the moon, the faithful witness in the heavens. Selah!

Como la luna será firme para siempre, Y como un testigo fiel en el cielo. (Selah.)

38 B ut You have cast off and rejected; You have been full of wrath against Your anointed.

Mas tú desechaste y menospreciaste á tu ungido; Y te has airado con él.

39 Y ou have despised and loathed and renounced the covenant with Your servant; You have profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.

Rompiste el pacto de tu siervo; Has profanado su corona hasta la tierra.

40 Y ou have broken down all his hedges and his walls; You have brought his strongholds to ruin.

Aportillaste todos sus vallados; Has quebrantado sus fortalezas.

41 A ll who pass along the road spoil and rob him; he has become the scorn and reproach of his neighbors.

Menoscabáronle todos los que pasaron por el camino: Es oprobio á sus vecinos.

42 Y ou have exalted the right hand of his foes; You have made all his enemies rejoice.

Has ensalzado la diestra de sus enemigos; Has alegrado á todos sus adversarios.

43 M oreover, You have turned back the edge of his sword and have not made him to stand in battle.

Embotaste asimismo el filo de su espada, Y no lo levantaste en la batalla.

44 Y ou have made his glory and splendor to cease and have hurled to the ground his throne.

Hiciste cesar su brillo, Y echaste su trono por tierra.

45 T he days of his youth have You shortened; You have covered him with shame. Selah!

Has acortado los días de su juventud; Hasle cubierto de afrenta. (Selah.)

46 H ow long, O Lord? Will You hide Yourself forever? How long shall Your wrath burn like fire?

¿Hasta cuándo, oh Jehová? ¿te esconderás para siempre? ¿Arderá tu ira como el fuego?

47 O remember how short my time is and what a mere fleeting life mine is. For what emptiness, falsity, futility, and frailty You have created all men!

Acuérdate de cuán corto sea mi tiempo: ¿Por qué habrás criado en vano á todos los hijos del hombre?

48 W hat man can live and shall not see death, or can deliver himself from the hand of Sheol (the place of the dead)? Selah!

¿Qué hombre vivirá y no verá muerte? ¿Librarás su vida del poder del sepulcro? (Selah.)

49 L ord, where are Your former loving-kindnesses, which You swore to David in Your faithfulness?

Señor, ¿dónde están tus antiguas misericordias, Que juraste á David por tu verdad?

50 R emember, Lord, and earnestly imprint the reproach of Your servants, scorned and insulted, how I bear in my bosom the reproach of all the many and mighty peoples,

Señor, acuérdate del oprobio de tus siervos; Oprobio que llevo yo en mi seno de muchos pueblos.

51 W ith which Your enemies have taunted, O Lord, with which they have mocked the footsteps of Your anointed.

Porque tus enemigos, oh Jehová, han deshonrado, Porque tus enemigos han deshonrado los pasos de tu ungido.

52 B lessed be the Lord forevermore! Amen and Amen.
