1 T hen I saw a new sky (heaven) and a new earth, for the former sky and the former earth had passed away (vanished), and there no longer existed any sea.

Y VI un cielo nuevo, y una tierra nueva: porque el primer cielo y la primera tierra se fueron, y el mar ya no es.

2 A nd I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, all arrayed like a bride beautified and adorned for her husband;

Y yo Juan vi la santa ciudad, Jerusalem nueva, que descendía del cielo, de Dios, dispuesta como una esposa ataviada para su marido.

3 T hen I heard a mighty voice from the throne and I perceived its distinct words, saying, See! The abode of God is with men, and He will live (encamp, tent) among them; and they shall be His people, and God shall personally be with them and be their God.

Y oí una gran voz del cielo que decía: He aquí el tabernáculo de Dios con los hombres, y morará con ellos; y ellos serán su pueblo, y el mismo Dios será su Dios con ellos.

4 G od will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, neither shall there be anguish (sorrow and mourning) nor grief nor pain any more, for the old conditions and the former order of things have passed away.

Y limpiará Dios toda lágrima de los ojos de ellos; y la muerte no será más; y no habrá más llanto, ni clamor, ni dolor: porque las primeras cosas son pasadas.

5 A nd He Who is seated on the throne said, See! I make all things new. Also He said, Record this, for these sayings are faithful (accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy) and true (genuine).

Y el que estaba sentado en el trono dijo: He aquí, yo hago nuevas todas las cosas. Y me dijo: Escribe; porque estas palabras son fieles y verdaderas.

6 A nd He said to me, It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without price from the fountain (springs) of the water of Life.

Y díjome: Hecho es. Yo soy Alpha y Omega, el principio y el fin. Al que tuviere sed, yo le daré de la fuente del agua de vida gratuitamente.

7 H e who is victorious shall inherit all these things, and I will be God to him and he shall be My son.

El que venciere, poseerá todas las cosas; y yo seré su Dios, y él será mi hijo.

8 B ut as for the cowards and the ignoble and the contemptible and the cravenly lacking in courage and the cowardly submissive, and as for the unbelieving and faithless, and as for the depraved and defiled with abominations, and as for murderers and the lewd and adulterous and the practicers of magic arts and the idolaters (those who give supreme devotion to anyone or anything other than God) and all liars (those who knowingly convey untruth by word or deed)— their part in the lake that blazes with fire and brimstone. This is the second death.

Mas á los temerosos é incrédulos, á los abominables y homicidas, á los fornicarios y hechiceros, y á los idólatras, y á todos los mentirosos, su parte será en el lago ardiendo con fuego y azufre, que es la muerte segunda.

9 T hen one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven final plagues (afflictions, calamities) came and spoke to me. He said, Come with me! I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.

Y vino á mí uno de los siete ángeles que tenían las siete copas llenas de las siete postreras plagas, y habló conmigo, diciendo: Ven acá, yo te mostraré la esposa, mujer del Cordero.

10 T hen in the Spirit He conveyed me away to a vast and lofty mountain and exhibited to me the holy (hallowed, consecrated) city of Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God,

Y llevóme en Espíritu á un grande y alto monte, y me mostró la grande ciudad santa de Jerusalem, que descendía del cielo de Dios,

11 C lothed in God’s glory. The luster of it resembled a rare and most precious jewel, like jasper, shining clear as crystal.

Teniendo la claridad de Dios: y su luz era semejante á una piedra preciosísima, como piedra de jaspe, resplandeciente como cristal.

12 I t had a massive and high wall with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were written:

Y tenía un muro grande y alto con doce puertas; y en las puertas, doce ángeles, y nombres escritos, que son los de las doce tribus de los hijos de Israel.

13 O n the east side three gates, on the north side three gates, on the south side three gates, and on the west side three gates.

Al oriente tres puertas; al norte tres puertas; al mediodiá tres puertas; al poniente tres puertas.

14 A nd the wall of the city had twelve foundation, and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Y el muro de la ciudad tenía doce fundamentos, y en ellos los doce nombres de los doce apóstoles del Cordero.

15 A nd he who spoke to me had a golden measuring reed (rod) to measure the city and its gates and its wall.

Y el que hablaba conmigo, tenía una medida de una caña de oro para medir la ciudad, y sus puertas, y su muro.

16 T he city lies in a square, its length being the same as its width. And he measured the city with his reed—12, 000 stadia (about 1, 500 miles); its length and width and height are the same.

Y la ciudad está situada y puesta en cuadro, y su largura es tanta como su anchura: y él midió la ciudad con la caña, doce mil estadios: la largura y la altura y la anchura de ella son iguales.

17 H e measured its wall also—144 cubits (about 72 yards) by a man’s measure '> of a cubit from his elbow to his third fingertip], which is of the angel.

Y midió su muro, ciento cuarenta y cuatro codos, de medida de hombre, la cual es del ángel.

18 T he wall was built of jasper, while the city pure gold, clear and transparent like glass.

Y el material de su muro era de jaspe: mas la ciudad era de oro puro, semejante al vidrio limpio.

19 T he foundation of the wall of the city were ornamented with all of the precious stones. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony (or white agate), the fourth emerald,

Y los fundamentos del muro de la ciudad estaban adornados de toda piedra preciosa. El primer fundamento era jaspe; el segundo, zafiro; el tercero, calcedonia; el cuarto, esmeralda;

20 T he fifth onyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.

El quinto, sardónica; el sexto, sardio; el séptimo, crisólito; el octavo, berilo; el nono, topacio; el décimo, crisopraso; el undécimo, jacinto; el duodécimo, amatista.

21 A nd the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each separate gate being built of one solid pearl. And the main street (the broadway) of the city was of gold as pure and translucent as glass.

Y las doce puertas eran doce perlas, en cada una, una; cada puerta era de una perla. Y la plaza de la ciudad era de oro puro como vidrio trasparente.

22 I saw no temple in the city, for the Lord God Omnipotent and the Lamb are its temple.

Y no vi en ella templo; porque el Señor Dios Todopoderoso es el templo de ella, y el Cordero.

23 A nd the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to give light to it, for the splendor and radiance (glory) of God illuminate it, and the Lamb is its lamp.

Y la ciudad no tenía necesidad de sol, ni de luna, para que resplandezcan en ella: porque la claridad de Dios la iluminó, y el Cordero era su lumbrera.

24 T he nations shall walk by its light and the rulers and leaders of the earth shall bring into it their glory.

Y las naciones que hubieren sido salvas andarán en la lumbre de ella: y los reyes de la tierra traerán su gloria y honor á ella

25 A nd its gates shall never be closed by day, and there shall be no night there.

Y sus puertas nunca serán cerradas de día, porque allí no habrá noche.

26 T hey shall bring the glory (the splendor and majesty) and the honor of the nations into it.

Y llevarán la gloria y la honra de las naciones á ella.

27 B ut nothing that defiles or profanes or is unwashed shall ever enter it, nor anyone who commits abominations (unclean, detestable, morally repugnant things) or practices falsehood, but only those whose names are recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

No entrará en ella ninguna cosa sucia, ó que hace abominación y mentira; sino solamente los que están escritos en el libro de la vida del Cordero.
