1 T hen Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared to David his father, in the place that David had appointed, on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

Comenzó Salomón a edificar la casa de Jehová en Jerusalén, en el monte Moriah, que había sido mostrado a David su padre, en el lugar que David había preparado en la era de Ornán, el jebuseo.

2 A nd Solomon began to build on the second day of the second month in the fourth year of his reign.

Y comenzó a edificar en el mes segundo, a los dos días del mes, en el cuarto año de su reinado.

3 N ow these are the measurements for the foundations which Solomon laid for the house of God. The length in cubits by the former measure was sixty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.

Éstas son las medidas que dio Salomón a los cimientos de la casa de Dios: la longitud era de sesenta codos y la anchura de veinte codos.

4 T he porch or vestibule across the front of the house was the same length as the house’s breadth, twenty cubits, and the height 120 cubits. He overlaid it inside with pure gold.

El pórtico que estaba al frente del edificio era de veinte codos de largo, igual al ancho de la Casa, y su altura de ciento veinte codos. Salomón lo recubrió por dentro de oro puro,

5 A nd the greater house (the Holy Place) he lined with cypress and overlaid it with fine gold and made palm trees and chains on it.

y techó el cuerpo mayor del edificio con madera de ciprés, la cual recubrió de oro fino, haciendo esculpir en ella palmeras y cadenas.

6 A nd he adorned the house with precious stones for beauty; and the gold was gold of Parvaim.

Recubrió también la Casa con un ornamento de piedras preciosas; y el oro era oro de Parvaim.

7 H e lined the house (the Holy Place), its beams, thresholds, walls, and doors with gold, and engraved cherubim on the walls.

Revistió, pues, la Casa, sus vigas, sus umbrales, sus paredes y sus puertas, con oro; y esculpió querubines en las paredes.

8 H e made the Most Holy Place, its length equaling the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and its breadth twenty cubits; he overlaid it with 600 talents of fine gold.

Construyó asimismo el Lugar santísimo, cuya longitud era de veinte codos, de acuerdo al ancho del frente de la Casa, y su anchura de veinte codos. Lo revistió de oro fino, el cual ascendía a seiscientos talentos.

9 T he weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he lined the upper chambers with gold.

Los clavos de oro pesaban de uno hasta cincuenta siclos. También recubrió de oro los aposentos.

10 A nd in the Most Holy Place he made two cherubim of image work, and they were overlaid with gold.

Dentro del Lugar santísimo hizo dos querubines de madera, los cuales fueron recubiertos de oro.

11 A nd the wings of the cherubim extended twenty cubits: one wing of one cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house, and its other wing of five cubits touched the other cherub’s wing.

La longitud de las alas de los querubines era de veinte codos; porque un ala era de cinco codos, y llegaba hasta la pared de la Casa, mientras la otra de cinco codos tocaba el ala del segundo querubín.

12 A nd of the other cherub one wing of five cubits touched the wall of the house, and the other wing, also five cubits, joined the wing of the first cherub.

De la misma manera una ala del otro querubín era de cinco codos, la cual llegaba hasta la pared de la Casa, y la otra era de cinco codos, que tocaba el ala del otro querubín.

13 T he wings of these cherubim extended twenty cubits; the cherubim stood on their feet, their faces toward the Holy Place.

Estos querubines, cuyas alas extendidas medían veinte codos, estaban en pie con los rostros vueltos hacia la Casa.

14 A nd he made the veil of blue, purple, and crimson colors, and fine linen, and embroidered cherubim on it.

Hizo también el velo de azul, púrpura, carmesí y lino, e hizo bordar querubines en él. Las dos columnas

15 B efore the house he made two pillars, 35 cubits high, with a capital on the top of each which was five cubits.

Delante de la Casa hizo dos columnas de treinta y cinco codos de altura cada una, con capiteles de cinco codos encima.

16 H e made chains like a necklace and put them on the heads of the pillars, and he made 100 pomegranates and put them on the chains.

Hizo asimismo cadenas en el santuario y las puso sobre los capiteles de las columnas; e hizo cien granadas, las cuales puso en las cadenas.

17 H e erected the pillars before the temple, one on the right, the other on the left, and called the one on the right Jachin and the one on the left Boaz.

Colocó las columnas delante del Templo, una a la mano derecha y otra a la izquierda; a la de la mano derecha llamó Jaquín y a la de la izquierda, Boaz.
