1 D eliver me, O Lord, from evil men; preserve me from violent men;

Líbrame, Jehová, del hombre malo; guárdame de hombres violentos,

2 T hey devise mischiefs in their heart; continually they gather together and stir up wars.

los cuales maquinan males en el corazón y cada día provocan contiendas.

3 T hey sharpen their tongues like a serpent’s; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah!

Aguzan su lengua como una serpiente; veneno de víbora hay debajo de sus labios. Selah

4 K eep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent men who have purposed to thrust aside my steps.

Guárdame, Jehová, de manos del impío; líbrame de hombres injuriosos, que han planeado trastornar mis pasos.

5 T he proud have hidden a snare for me; they have spread cords as a net by the wayside, they have set traps for me. Selah!

Me han tendido lazo y cuerdas los soberbios; han tendido red junto a la senda; me han puesto lazos. Selah

6 I said to the Lord, You are my God; give ear to the voice of my supplications, O Lord.

He dicho a Jehová: «Dios mío eres tú; escucha, Jehová, la voz de mis ruegos.

7 O God the Lord, the Strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle.

Jehová, Señor, potente salvador mío, tú pusiste a cubierto mi cabeza en el día de la batalla.»

8 G rant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked; further not their wicked plot and device, lest they exalt themselves. Selah!

No concedas, Jehová, al impío sus deseos; no saques adelante sus pensamientos, para que no se ensoberbezca. Selah

9 T hose who are fencing me in raise their heads; may the mischief of their own lips and the very things they desire for me come upon them.

En cuanto a los que por todas partes me rodean, la maldad de sus propios labios cubrirá sus cabezas.

10 L et burning coals fall upon them; let them be cast into the fire, into floods of water or deep water pits, from which they shall not rise.

Caerán sobre ellos brasas, serán echados en el fuego, en abismos profundos de donde no escaparán.

11 L et not a man of slanderous tongue be established in the earth; let evil hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

El hombre deslenguado no será firme en la tierra; el mal cazará al hombre injusto para derribarlo.

12 I know and rest in confidence upon it that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and will secure justice for the poor and needy.

Yo sé que Jehová tomará a su cargo la causa del afligido y el derecho de los necesitados.

13 S urely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence (before Your very face).

Ciertamente los justos alabarán tu nombre; ¡los rectos morarán en tu presencia!
