1 A gain David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, 30, 000.

Volvió David a reunir a todos los hombres escogidos de Israel, treinta mil.

2 A nd arose and went with all the people who were with him to Baale-judah to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the Lord of hosts, Who sits enthroned above the cherubim.

Y David se levantó y fue con todo el pueblo que estaba con él a Baala de Judá, para hacer subir desde allí el arca de Dios, la cual es llamada por el Nombre, el nombre del Señor de los ejércitos, que está sobre los querubines.

3 A nd they set the ark of God upon a new cart and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart.

Pusieron el arca de Dios sobre un carro nuevo, para que la pudieran llevar de la casa de Abinadab que estaba en la colina. Uza y Ahío, hijos de Abinadab, guiaban el carro nuevo.

4 A nd they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill, with the ark of God; and Ahio went before the ark.

Y lo llevaron con el arca de Dios de la casa de Abinadab que estaba en la colina, y Ahío iba delante del arca.

5 A nd David and all the house of Israel played before the Lord with all their might, with songs, lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets, and cymbals.

David y toda la casa de Israel se regocijaban delante del Señor con toda clase de instrumentos hechos de madera de abeto, y con liras, arpas, panderos, castañuelas y címbalos.

6 A nd when they came to Nacon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled and shook it.

Pero cuando llegaron a la era de Nacón, Uza extendió la mano hacia el arca de Dios, y la sostuvo porque los bueyes casi la volcaron.

7 A nd the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for touching the ark, and he died there by the ark of God.

Y se encendió la ira del Señor contra Uza, y Dios lo hirió allí por su irreverencia; y allí murió junto al arca de Dios.

8 D avid was grieved and offended because the Lord had broken forth upon Uzzah, and that place is called Perez-uzzah to this day.

Entonces David se enojó porque el Señor había estallado en ira contra Uza, y llamó aquel lugar Pérez Uza hasta el día de hoy.

9 D avid was afraid of the Lord that day and said, How can the ark of the Lord come to me?

David tuvo temor del Señor aquel día, y dijo: “¿Cómo podrá venir a mí el arca del Señor ?”

10 S o David was not willing to take the ark of the Lord to him into the City of David; but he took it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

Y David no quiso trasladar el arca del Señor con él a la ciudad de David, sino que la hizo llevar a la casa de Obed Edom el Geteo.

11 A nd the ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite for three months, and the Lord blessed Obed-edom and all his household.

Por tres meses permaneció el arca del Señor en la casa de Obed Edom el Geteo; y bendijo el Señor a Obed Edom y a toda su casa.

12 A nd it was told King David, The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the City of David with rejoicing;

Y se dio aviso al rey David: “El Señor ha bendecido la casa de Obed Edom y todo lo que le pertenece a causa del arca de Dios.” Entonces David fue, y con alegría hizo subir el arca de Dios de la casa de Obed Edom a la ciudad de David.

13 A nd when those who bore the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatling.

Y cuando los portadores del arca del Señor habían andado seis pasos, David sacrificó un buey y un carnero cebado.

14 A nd David danced before the Lord with all his might, clad in a linen ephod.

David danzaba con toda su fuerza delante del Señor, y estaba vestido con un efod de lino.

15 S o David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.

David y toda la casa de Israel hacían subir el arca del Señor con aclamación y sonido de trompeta.

16 A s the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, and she despised him in her heart.

Sucedió que cuando el arca del Señor entraba a la ciudad de David, Mical, hija de Saúl, miró desde la ventana y vio al rey David saltando y danzando delante del Señor, y lo despreció en su corazón.

17 T hey brought in the ark of the Lord and set it in its place inside the tent which David had pitched for it, and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.

Metieron el arca del Señor y la colocaron en su lugar dentro de la tienda que David había levantado para ella, y David ofreció holocaustos y ofrendas de paz delante del Señor.

18 W hen David had finished offering the burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts,

Cuando David terminó de ofrecer el holocausto y las ofrendas de paz, bendijo al pueblo en el nombre del Señor de los ejércitos.

19 A nd distributed among all the people, the whole multitude of Israel, both to men and women, to each a cake of bread, a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins. So all the people departed, each to his house.

Después repartió a todo el pueblo, a toda la multitud de Israel, tanto a hombres como a mujeres, una torta de pan, una de dátiles y una de pasas a cada uno. Entonces todo el pueblo se fue, cada uno a su casa.

20 T hen David returned to bless his household. And Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet David and said, How glorious was the king of Israel today, who stripped himself of his kingly robes and uncovered himself in the eyes of his servants’ maids as one of the worthless fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!

Pero al regresar David para bendecir su casa, Mical, hija de Saúl, salió al encuentro de David, y le dijo: “¡Cómo se ha distinguido hoy el rey de Israel! Se descubrió hoy ante los ojos de las criadas de sus siervos, como se descubriría sin decoro un insensato.”

21 D avid said to Michal, It was before the Lord, Who chose me above your father and all his house to appoint me as prince over Israel, the people of the Lord. Therefore will I make merry before the Lord.

Y David dijo a Mical: “ Eso fue delante del Señor que me escogió en preferencia a tu padre y a toda su casa para constituirme por príncipe sobre el pueblo del Señor, sobre Israel. Por tanto, lo celebraré delante del Señor.

22 I will be still more lightly esteemed than this, and will humble and lower myself in my own sight. But by the maids you mentioned, I will be held in honor.

Y aún seré menos estimado que esto, y seré humillado ante mis propios ojos, pero con las criadas de quienes has hablado, ante ellas seré honrado.”

23 A nd Michal the daughter of Saul had no child to the day of her death.

Y Mical, hija de Saúl, no tuvo hijos hasta el día de su muerte.
