1 S olomon son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him and made him exceedingly great.

Y Salomón, hijo de David, se estableció firmemente en su reino, y el Señor su Dios estaba con él y lo engrandeció sobremanera.

2 S olomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every prince in all Israel, the heads of the fathers’ houses.

Y Salomón habló a todo Israel, a los comandantes de miles y de cientos, a los jueces y a todos los príncipes de todo Israel, jefes de casas paternas.

3 A nd Solomon and all the assembly with him went to the high place that was at Gibeon, for the Tent of Meeting of God, which Moses the servant of the Lord had made in the wilderness, was there.

Entonces Salomón y toda la asamblea con él fueron al lugar alto que había en Gabaón, porque allí estaba la tienda de reunión de Dios, que Moisés, siervo del Señor, había hecho en el desierto.

4 B ut David had brought up the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim to the place which David had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.

Pero David había traído el arca de Dios de Quiriat-jearim al lugar que había preparado para ella, porque le había levantado una tienda en Jerusalén.

5 M oreover, the bronze altar that Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made was there before the tabernacle of the Lord, and Solomon and the assembly sought.

Y el altar de bronce que había hecho Bezaleel, hijo de Uri, hijo de Hur, estaba delante del tabernáculo del Señor, al cual consultaron Salomón y la asamblea.

6 S olomon went up there to the bronze altar before the Lord at the Tent of Meeting and offered 1, 000 burnt offerings on it.

Subió Salomón allí, delante del Señor, al altar de bronce que estaba en la tienda de reunión, y ofreció sobre él mil holocaustos.

7 T hat night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, Ask what I shall give you.

Aquella noche Dios se apareció a Salomón y le dijo: Pide lo que quieras que yo te dé.

8 A nd Solomon said to God, You have shown great mercy and loving-kindness to David my father and have made me king in his place.

Entonces Salomón dijo a Dios: Tú has mostrado gran misericordia con mi padre David, y me has hecho rey en su lugar.

9 N ow, O Lord God, let Your promise to David my father be fulfilled, for you have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

Ahora, oh Señor Dios, tu promesa a mi padre David se ha cumplido, porque me has hecho rey sobre un pueblo tan numeroso como el polvo de la tierra.

10 G ive me now wisdom and knowledge to go out and come in before this people, for who can rule this Your people who are so great?

Dame ahora sabiduría y conocimiento, para que pueda salir y entrar delante de este pueblo; porque, ¿quién podrá juzgar a este pueblo tuyo tan grande ?

11 G od replied to Solomon, Because this was in your heart and you have not asked for riches, possessions, honor, and glory, or the life of your foes, or even for long life, but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may rule and judge My people over whom I have made you king,

Y dijo Dios a Salomón: Por cuanto esto estaba en tu corazón, y no has pedido riquezas, ni bienes, ni gloria, ni la vida de los que te odian, ni aun has pedido larga vida, sino que has pedido para ti sabiduría y conocimiento para poder gobernar a mi pueblo sobre el cual te he hecho rey,

12 W isdom and knowledge are granted you. And I will give you riches, possessions, honor, and glory, such as none of the kings had before you, and none after you shall have their equal.

sabiduría y conocimiento te han sido concedidos. Y te daré riquezas y bienes y gloria, tales como no las tuvieron ninguno de los reyes que fueron antes de ti, ni los que vendrán después de ti.

13 T hen Solomon came from the high place at Gibeon, from before the Tent of Meeting, to Jerusalem. And he reigned over Israel.

Y Salomón salió del lugar alto que estaba en Gabaón, de la tienda de reunión, a Jerusalén, y reinó sobre Israel.

14 S olomon gathered chariots and horsemen; he had 1, 400 chariots and 12, 000 horsemen, which he placed in the cities of chariots and with the king at Jerusalem.

Y juntó Salomón carros y hombres de a caballo; y tenía mil cuatrocientos carros y doce mil hombres de a caballo, y los apostó en las ciudades de los carros, y en Jerusalén, junto al rey.

15 A nd the king made silver and gold in Jerusalem as common as stones, and he made cedar as plentiful as the sycamores of the lowland.

El rey hizo la plata y el oro tan común en Jerusalén como las piedras, e hizo los cedros tan abundantes como los sicómoros en el llano.

16 S olomon’s horses were brought out of Egypt; the king’s merchants received them in droves, each drove at a price.

Los caballos de Salomón eran importados de Egipto y de Coa, y los mercaderes del rey los adquirían de Coa por cierto precio.

17 T hey imported from Egypt a chariot for 600 shekels of silver, and a horse for 150; so they brought out horses for all the Hittite and Syrian kings as export agents.

Y se importaba un carro de Egipto por seiscientos siclos de plata, y un caballo por ciento cincuenta, y de la misma manera los exportaban a todos los reyes de los hititas y a los reyes de Aram.
