1 T he Lord spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai in the Tent of Meeting on the first day of the second month in the second year after they came out of the land of Egypt, saying,

3 F rom twenty years old and upward, all in Israel who are able to go forth to war you and Aaron shall number, company by company.

de veinte años arriba, todos los que pueden salir a la guerra en Israel, tú y Aarón los contaréis por sus ejércitos.

4 A nd with you there shall be a man from each tribe, each being the head of his father’s house.

Con vosotros estará además, un hombre de cada tribu, cada uno jefe de su casa paterna.

5 A nd these are the names of the men who shall attend you: Of Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;

Estos son los nombres de los hombres que estarán con vosotros: de Rubén, Elisur, hijo de Sedeur;

6 O f Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;

de Simeón, Selumiel, hijo de Zurisadai;

7 O f Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab;

de Judá, Naasón, hijo de Aminadab;

8 O f Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar;

de Isacar, Natanael, hijo de Zuar;

9 O f Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon;

10 O f the sons of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;

11 O f Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;

13 O f Asher, Pagiel son of Ochran;

16 T hese were those chosen from the congregation, the leaders of their ancestral tribes, heads of thousands in Israel.

Estos son los que fueron llamados de la congregación, los principales de las tribus de sus padres; ellos fueron los jefes de las divisiones de Israel.

17 A nd Moses and Aaron took these men who have been named,

Entonces Moisés y Aarón tomaron a estos hombres que habían sido designados por sus nombres,

18 A nd assembled all the congregation on the first day of the second month, and they declared their ancestry after their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names from twenty years old and upward, head by head,

y reunieron a toda la congregación el primer día del mes segundo. Y se registraron según sus antepasados por familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, uno por uno.

19 A s the Lord commanded Moses. So he numbered them in the Wilderness of Sinai.

Tal como el Señor lo había mandado a Moisés, los contó en el desierto de Sinaí.

20 T he sons of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go to war:

De los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, uno por uno, todo varón de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra;

21 T hose of the tribe of Reuben numbered 46, 500.

los enumerados de la tribu de Rubén fueron cuarenta y seis mil quinientos.

22 O f the sons of Simeon, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, those numbered of them according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go to war:

De los hijos de Simeón, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, sus enumerados, según el número de nombres, uno por uno, todo varón de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra;

23 T hose of the tribe of Simeon numbered 59, 300.

los enumerados de la tribu de Simeón fueron cincuenta y nueve mil trescientos.

24 O f the sons of Gad, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go to war:

44 T hese were numbered by Moses and Aaron, and the leaders of Israel, twelve men, each representing his father’s house.

Estos son los que fueron enumerados, los que Moisés y Aarón contaron con los jefes de Israel, doce hombres, cada uno de los cuales era jefe de su casa paterna.

45 S o all those numbered of the Israelites, by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and upward, able to go to war in Israel,

Y todos los enumerados de los hijos de Israel por sus casas paternas, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra en Israel,

46 A ll who were numbered were 603, 550.

fueron seiscientos tres mil quinientos cincuenta.

47 B ut the Levites by their fathers’ tribe were not numbered with them.

Pero los levitas no fueron enumerados con ellos según la tribu de sus padres.

48 F or the Lord had said to Moses,

Porque el Señor había hablado a Moisés, diciendo:

49 O nly the tribe of Levi you shall not number in the census of the Israelites.

Solamente la tribu de Leví no enumerarás, ni los contarás con los hijos de Israel;

50 B ut appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the Testimony, and over all its vessels and furnishings and all things that belong to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings, and they shall minister to it and encamp around it.

sino que pondrás a los levitas a cargo del tabernáculo del testimonio, de todos sus utensilios y de todo lo que le pertenece. Ellos llevarán el tabernáculo y todos sus utensilios, y lo cuidarán; además, acamparán alrededor del tabernáculo.

51 W hen the tabernacle is to go forward, the Levites shall take it down, and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up. And the excluded who approach the tabernacle shall be put to death.

Y cuando el tabernáculo haya de ser trasladado, los levitas lo desarmarán; y cuando el tabernáculo acampe, los levitas lo armarán. Pero el extraño que se acerque, morirá.

52 T he Israelites shall pitch their tents by their companies, every man by his own camp and every man by his own standard.

Y acamparán los hijos de Israel, cada uno en su campamento, y cada uno junto a su bandera, según sus ejércitos.

53 B ut the Levites shall encamp around the tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath upon the congregation of the Israelites; and the Levites shall keep charge of the tabernacle of the Testimony.

Pero los levitas acamparán alrededor del tabernáculo del testimonio, para que no venga la ira sobre la congregación de los hijos de Israel. Los levitas, pues, tendrán a su cargo el tabernáculo del testimonio.

54 T hus did the Israelites; according to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so they did.

Así hicieron los hijos de Israel; conforme a todo lo que el Señor había mandado a Moisés, así hicieron.
