1 J esus departed from the temple area and was going on His way when His disciples came up to Him to call His attention to the buildings of the temple and point them out to Him.

Cuando salió Jesús del templo, y se iba, se le acercaron sus discípulos para mostrarle los edificios del templo.

2 B ut He answered them, Do you see all these? Truly I tell you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.

Mas respondiendo El, les dijo: ¿Veis todo esto? En verdad os digo: no quedará aquí piedra sobre piedra que no sea derribada. Señales antes del fin

3 W hile He was seated on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately and said, Tell us, when will this take place, and what will be the sign of Your coming and of the end (the completion, the consummation) of the age?

Y estando El sentado en el monte de los Olivos, se le acercaron los discípulos en privado, diciendo: Dinos, ¿cuándo sucederá esto, y cuál será la señal de tu venida y de la consumación de este siglo?

4 J esus answered them, Be careful that no one misleads you.

Respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Mirad que nadie os engañe.

5 F or many will come in (on the strength of) My name '> appropriating the name which belongs to Me], saying, I am the Christ (the Messiah), and they will lead many astray.

Porque muchos vendrán en mi nombre, diciendo: “Yo soy el Cristo ”, y engañarán a muchos.

6 A nd you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened or troubled, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.

Y habréis de oír de guerras y rumores de guerras. ¡Cuidado! No os alarméis, porque es necesario que todo esto suceda; pero todavía no es el fin.

7 F or nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in place after place;

Porque se levantará nación contra nación, y reino contra reino, y en diferentes lugares habrá hambre y terremotos.

8 A ll this is but the beginning of the birth pangs '> intolerable anguish].

Pero todo esto es sólo el comienzo de dolores.

9 T hen they will hand you over to suffer affliction and tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.

Entonces os entregarán a tribulación, y os matarán, y seréis odiados de todas las naciones por causa de mi nombre.

10 A nd then many will be offended and repelled and will begin to distrust and desert and will stumble and fall away and betray one another and pursue one another with hatred.

Muchos tropezarán entonces y caerán, y se traicionarán unos a otros, y unos a otros se odiarán.

11 A nd many false prophets will rise up and deceive and lead many into error.

Y se levantarán muchos falsos profetas, y a muchos engañarán.

12 A nd the love of the great body of people will grow cold because of the multiplied lawlessness and iniquity,

Y debido al aumento de la iniquidad, el amor de muchos se enfriará.

13 B ut he who endures to the end will be saved.

Pero el que persevere hasta el fin, ése será salvo.

14 A nd this good news of the kingdom (the Gospel) will be preached throughout the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then will come the end.

Y este evangelio del reino se predicará en todo el mundo como testimonio a todas las naciones, y entonces vendrá el fin. La abominación de la desolación

15 S o when you see the appalling sacrilege, spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the Holy Place—let the reader take notice and ponder and consider and heed —

Por tanto, cuando veáis la abominacion de la desolacion, de que se habló por medio del profeta Daniel, colocada en el lugar santo (el que lea, que entienda ),

16 T hen let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains;

entonces los que estén en Judea, huyan a los montes;

17 L et him who is on the housetop not come down and go into the house to take anything;

el que esté en la azotea, no baje a sacar las cosas de su casa;

18 A nd let him who is in the field not turn back to get his overcoat.

y el que esté en el campo, no vuelva atrás a tomar su capa.

19 A nd alas for the women who are pregnant and for those who have nursing babies in those days!

Pero, ¡ay de las que estén encinta y de las que estén criando en aquellos días!

20 P ray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath.

Orad para que vuestra huida no suceda en invierno, ni en día de reposo,

21 F or then there will be great tribulation (affliction, distress, and oppression) such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now—no, and never will be.

porque habrá entonces una gran tribulación, tal como no ha acontecido desde el principio del mundo hasta ahora, ni acontecerá jamás.

22 A nd if those days had not been shortened, no human being would endure and survive, but for the sake of the elect (God’s chosen ones) those days will be shortened.

Y si aquellos días no fueran acortados, nadie se salvaría; pero por causa de los escogidos, aquellos días serán acortados.

23 I f anyone says to you then, Behold, here is the Christ (the Messiah)! or, There He is!—do not believe it.

Entonces si alguno os dice: “Mirad, aquí está el Cristo ”, o “Allí está ”, no le creáis.

24 F or false Christs and false prophets will arise, and they will show great signs and wonders so as to deceive and lead astray, if possible, even the elect (God’s chosen ones).

Porque se levantarán falsos Cristos y falsos profetas, y mostrarán grandes señales y prodigios, para así engañar, de ser posible, aun a los escogidos.

25 S ee, I have warned you beforehand.

Ved que os lo he dicho de antemano.

26 S o if they say to you, Behold, He is in the wilderness (desert)—do not go out there; if they tell you, Behold, He is in the secret places or inner rooms—do not believe it.

Por tanto, si os dicen: “Mirad, El está en el desierto”, no vayáis; o “Mirad, El está en las habitaciones interiores”, no les creáis.

27 F or just as the lightning flashes from the east and shines and is seen as far as the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Porque así como el relámpago sale del oriente y resplandece hasta el occidente, así será la venida del Hijo del Hombre.

28 W herever there is a fallen body (a corpse), there the vultures (or eagles) will flock together.

Donde esté el cadáver, allí se juntarán los buitres.

29 I mmediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

Pero inmediatamente después de la tribulación de esos días, el sol se oscurecera, la luna no dara su luz, las estrellas caeran del cielo y las potencias de los cielos serán sacudidas.

30 T hen the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn and beat their breasts and lament in anguish, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Entonces aparecerá en el cielo la señal del Hijo del Hombre; y entonces todas las tribus de la tierra harán duelo, y verán al Hijo del Hombre que viene sobre las nubes del cielo con poder y gran gloria.

31 A nd He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect (His chosen ones) from the four winds, from one end of the universe to the other.

Y El enviará a sus ángeles con una gran trompeta y reuniran a sus escogidos de los cuatro vientos, desde un extremo de los cielos hasta el otro. Parábola de la higuera

32 F rom the fig tree learn this lesson: as soon as its young shoots become soft and tender and it puts out its leaves, you know of a surety that summer is near.

Y de la higuera aprended la parábola: cuando su rama ya se pone tierna y echa las hojas, sabéis que el verano está cerca.

33 S o also when you see these signs, all taken together, coming to pass, you may know of a surety that He is near, at the very doors.

Así también vosotros, cuando veáis todas estas cosas, sabed que El está cerca, a las puertas.

34 T ruly I tell you, this generation ( the whole multitude of people living at the same time, in a definite, given period) will not pass away till all these things taken together take place.

En verdad os digo que no pasará esta generación hasta que todo esto suceda.

35 S ky and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

El cielo y la tierra pasarán, mas mis palabras no pasarán.

36 B ut of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Pero de aquel día y hora nadie sabe, ni siquiera los ángeles del cielo, ni el Hijo, sino sólo el Padre.

37 A s were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

Porque como en los días de Noé, así será la venida del Hijo del Hombre.

38 F or just as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah went into the ark,

Pues así como en aquellos días antes del diluvio estaban comiendo y bebiendo, casándose y dándose en matrimonio, hasta el día en que entró Noé en el arca,

39 A nd they did not know or understand until the flood came and swept them all away—so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

y no comprendieron hasta que vino el diluvio y se los llevó a todos; así será la venida del Hijo del Hombre.

40 A t that time two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one will be left.

Entonces estarán dos en el campo; uno será llevado y el otro será dejado.

41 T wo women will be grinding at the hand mill; one will be taken and one will be left.

Dos mujeres estarán moliendo en el molino; una será llevada y la otra será dejada.

42 W atch therefore '> give strict attention, be cautious and active], for you do not know in what kind of a day '> whether a near or remote one] your Lord is coming.

Por tanto, velad, porque no sabéis en qué día vuestro Señor viene.

43 B ut understand this: had the householder known in what '> night or a morning] watch the thief was coming, he would have watched and would not have allowed his house to be undermined and broken into.

Pero comprended esto: si el dueño de la casa hubiera sabido a qué hora de la noche iba a venir el ladrón, hubiera estado alerta y no hubiera permitido que entrara en su casa.

44 Y ou also must be ready therefore, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him.

Por eso, también vosotros estad preparados, porque a la hora que no pensáis vendrá el Hijo del Hombre. Parábola del siervo fiel y del infiel

45 W ho then is the faithful, thoughtful, and wise servant, whom his master has put in charge of his household to give to the others the food and supplies at the proper time?

¿ Quién es, pues, el siervo fiel y prudente a quien su señor puso sobre los de su casa para que les diera la comida a su tiempo?

46 B lessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) is that servant whom, when his master comes, he will find so doing.

Dichoso aquel siervo a quien, cuando su señor venga, lo encuentre haciendo así.

47 I solemnly declare to you, he will set him over all his possessions.

De cierto os digo que lo pondrá sobre todos sus bienes.

48 B ut if that servant is wicked and says to himself, My master is delayed and is going to be gone a long time,

Pero si aquel siervo es malo, y dice en su corazón: “Mi señor tardará ”;

49 A nd begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with the drunken,

y empieza a golpear a sus consiervos, y come y bebe con los que se emborrachan,

50 T he master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour of which he is not aware,

vendrá el señor de aquel siervo el día que no lo espera, y a una hora que no sabe,

51 A nd will punish him '> cut him up by scourging] and put him with the pretenders (hypocrites); there will be weeping and grinding of teeth.

y lo azotará severamente y le asignará un lugar con los hipócritas; allí será el llanto y el crujir de dientes.
