1 T hus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Moab and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime.

Así dice el Señor: Por tres transgresiones de Moab, y por cuatro, no revocaré su castigo, porque quemó los huesos del rey de Edom hasta calcinarlos.

2 S o I will send a fire upon Moab and it shall devour the strongholds of Kerioth, and Moab shall die amid uproar, shouting, and the sound of the trumpet.

Enviaré, pues, fuego sobre Moab, que consumirá los palacios de Queriot, y Moab morirá entre el tumulto, entre gritos de guerra y sonido de trompeta.

3 A nd I will cut off the ruler from its midst and will slay all its princes with him, says the Lord.

También extirparé al juez de en medio de ella, y mataré a todos sus príncipes con él —dice el Señor. Juicio contra Judá e Israel

4 T hus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Judah and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because they have despised and rejected the law of the Lord and have not kept His commandments, but their lies, after which their fathers have walked, caused them to err and go astray.

Así dice el Señor: Por tres transgresiones de Judá, y por cuatro, no revocaré su castigo, porque desecharon la ley del Señor y no guardaron sus estatutos; también les han hecho errar sus mentiras, tras las cuales anduvieron sus padres.

5 S o I will send a fire upon Judah and it shall devour the strongholds of Jerusalem.

Enviaré, pues, fuego sobre Judá, y consumirá los palacios de Jerusalén.

6 T hus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Israel and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because they have sold the just and uncompromisingly righteous for silver and the needy for a pair of sandals;

Así dice el Señor: Por tres transgresiones de Israel, y por cuatro, no revocaré su castigo, porque venden al justo por dinero y al necesitado por un par de sandalias.

7 T hey pant after the poor dust of the earth on their heads; they defraud and turn aside the humble; and a man and his father will have sexual relations with the same maiden, so that My holy name is profaned.

Los que pisotean en el polvo de la tierra la cabeza de los desvalidos, también tuercen el camino de los humildes. Un hombre y su padre se llegan a la misma joven profanando mi santo nombre;

8 A nd they lay themselves down beside every altar upon clothes they have taken in pledge, and in the house of their God they frivolously drink the wine which has been exacted from those fined.

sobre ropas empeñadas se tienden junto a cualquier altar, y el vino de los que han sido multados beben en la casa de su Dios.

9 Y et I destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above and his roots from beneath.

Yo destruí al amorreo delante de ellos, cuya altura era como la altura de los cedros, y era fuerte como las encinas; yo destruí su fruto por arriba y su raíz por abajo.

10 A lso I brought you up out of the land of Egypt and led you forty years through the wilderness to possess the land of the Amorite.

Y a vosotros yo os hice subir de la tierra de Egipto, y os conduje por el desierto cuarenta años para que tomarais posesión de la tierra del amorreo.

11 A nd I raised up some of your sons for prophets and some of your young men for dedicated ones. Is this not true, O you children of Israel? says the Lord.

Y levanté profetas de entre vuestros hijos y nazareos de entre vuestros jóvenes. ¿No es así, hijos de Israel? —declara el Señor.

12 B ut you gave the dedicated ones wine to drink and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.

Pero vosotros hicisteis beber vino a los nazareos, y a los profetas les ordenasteis, diciendo: No profeticéis.

13 B ehold, I am pressed under you and I will press you down in your place as a cart presses that is full of sheaves.

He aquí, yo estoy oprimido debajo de vosotros como está oprimida una carreta llena de gavillas.

14 A nd flight shall be lost to the swift and refuge shall fail him; the strong shall not retain and confirm his strength, neither shall the mighty deliver himself.

Y la huida le fallará al ligero, y el fuerte no fortalecerá su poder, ni el valiente salvará su vida.

15 N either shall he stand who handles the bow, and he who is swift of foot shall not deliver himself; neither shall he who rides the horse deliver his life.

El que empuña el arco no resistirá, el ligero de pies no escapará, ni el que monta a caballo salvará su vida.

16 A nd he who is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked on that day, says the Lord.

Y aun el más intrépido entre los valientes huirá desnudo aquel día —declara el Señor.
