1 T hus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Moab and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime.

Así dice Jehová: Por tres pecados de Moab, y por el cuarto, no lo revocaré; porque quemó los huesos del rey de Edom hasta calcinarlos.

2 S o I will send a fire upon Moab and it shall devour the strongholds of Kerioth, and Moab shall die amid uproar, shouting, and the sound of the trumpet.

Prenderé fuego en Moab, y consumirá los palacios de Queriyot; y morirá Moab con estrépito, entre el clamor bélico y el sonido de la trompeta.

3 A nd I will cut off the ruler from its midst and will slay all its princes with him, says the Lord.

Y quitaré el juez de en medio de él, y haré morir con él a todos sus príncipes, dice Jehová.

4 T hus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Judah and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because they have despised and rejected the law of the Lord and have not kept His commandments, but their lies, after which their fathers have walked, caused them to err and go astray.

Así dice Jehová: Por tres pecados de Judá, y por el cuarto, no lo revocaré; porque menospreciaron la ley de Jehová, y no guardaron sus estatutos, descarriándose por las mentiras, en pos de las cuales anduvieron sus padres.

5 S o I will send a fire upon Judah and it shall devour the strongholds of Jerusalem.

Prenderé, por tanto, fuego a Judá, el cual consumirá los palacios de Jerusalén.

6 T hus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Israel and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because they have sold the just and uncompromisingly righteous for silver and the needy for a pair of sandals;

Así dice Jehová: Por tres pecados de Israel, y por el cuarto, no lo revocaré; porque vendieron por dinero al justo, y al pobre por un par de zapatos.

7 T hey pant after the poor dust of the earth on their heads; they defraud and turn aside the humble; and a man and his father will have sexual relations with the same maiden, so that My holy name is profaned.

Que anhelan que haya polvo de la tierra sobre las cabezas de los desvalidos, y tuercen el camino de los humildes; y el hijo y su padre se llegan a la misma joven, profanando mi santo nombre.

8 A nd they lay themselves down beside every altar upon clothes they have taken in pledge, and in the house of their God they frivolously drink the wine which has been exacted from those fined.

Sobre las ropas empeñadas se acuestan junto a cualquier altar; y beben en la casa de sus dioses el vino de los multados.

9 Y et I destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above and his roots from beneath.

Y, sin embargo, yo destruí delante de ellos al amorreo, cuya altura era como la altura de los cedros, y fuerte como una encina; y destruí su fruto por arriba y sus raíces por abajo.

10 A lso I brought you up out of the land of Egypt and led you forty years through the wilderness to possess the land of the Amorite.

Y a vosotros os hice subir de la tierra de Egipto, y os conduje por el desierto cuarenta años, para que entraseis en posesión de la tierra del amorreo.

11 A nd I raised up some of your sons for prophets and some of your young men for dedicated ones. Is this not true, O you children of Israel? says the Lord.

Y levanté de vuestros hijos para profetas, y de vuestros jóvenes para que fuesen nazareos. ¿No es esto así, hijos de Israel?, dice Jehová.

12 B ut you gave the dedicated ones wine to drink and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.

Mas vosotros disteis de beber vino a los nazareos, y a los profetas mandasteis diciendo: No profeticéis.

13 B ehold, I am pressed under you and I will press you down in your place as a cart presses that is full of sheaves.

Pues he aquí que yo haré rechinar bajo vosotros, como rechina el carro lleno de gavillas;

14 A nd flight shall be lost to the swift and refuge shall fail him; the strong shall not retain and confirm his strength, neither shall the mighty deliver himself.

y el ágil no podrá huir, y el fuerte no podrá ejercitar su fuerza, ni el valiente librará su vida.

15 N either shall he stand who handles the bow, and he who is swift of foot shall not deliver himself; neither shall he who rides the horse deliver his life.

El que maneja el arco no resistirá, ni escapará el ligero de pies, ni el que cabalga en caballo salvará su vida.

16 A nd he who is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked on that day, says the Lord.

El esforzado de entre los valientes huirá desnudo aquel día, dice Jehová.
