1 W ho is this Who comes from Edom, with crimson-stained garments from Bozrah ? This One Who is glorious in His apparel, striding triumphantly in the greatness of His might? It is I, Who speaks in righteousness, mighty to save!

¿Quién es éste que viene de Edom, de Bosrá, con vestidos rojos?, ¿ése que es hermoso en su vestido, que marcha en la grandeza de su poder? Yo, el que hablo en justicia, poderoso para salvar.

2 W hy is Your apparel splashed with red, and Your garments like the one who treads in the winepress?

¿Por qué es rojo tu vestido, y tus ropas como del que ha pisado en el lagar?

3 I have trodden the winepress alone, and of the peoples there was no one with Me. I trod them in My anger and trampled them in My wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled upon My garments, and I stained all My raiment.

He pisado yo solo el lagar, y de los pueblos nadie había conmigo; los pisé con mi ira, y los hollé con mi furor; y su sangre salpicó mis vestidos, y manché todas mis ropas.

4 F or the day of vengeance was in My heart, and My year of redemption has come.

Porque el día de la venganza que estaba en mi corazón, y el año de mis redimidos han llegado.

5 A nd I looked, but there was no one to help; I was amazed and appalled that there was no one to uphold. So My own arm brought Me victory, and My wrath upheld Me.

Miré, y no había quien ayudara, y me asombré de que no hubiera quien apoyase; así que me salvó mi brazo, y me sostuvo mi ira.

6 I trod down the peoples in My anger and made them drink of the cup of My wrath until they were intoxicated, and I spilled their lifeblood upon the earth.

Y con mi ira hollé los pueblos, y los embriagué en mi furor, y derramé en tierra su sangre. Bondad de Jehová hacia Israel

7 I will recount the loving-kindnesses of the Lord and the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, according to all that the Lord has bestowed on us, and the great goodness to the house of Israel, which He has granted them according to His mercy and according to the multitude of His loving-kindnesses.

De las misericordias de Jehová haré mención, de las alabanzas de Jehová, conforme a todo lo que Jehová nos ha otorgado, y de la grandeza de sus beneficios hacia la casa de Israel, que les ha hecho según sus misericordias, y según la multitud de sus bondades.

8 F or He said, Surely they are My people, sons who will not lie; and so He was to them a Savior.

Porque dijo: Ciertamente son mi pueblo, hijos que no obrarán con falsedad; y fue él su Salvador.

9 I n all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.

En toda angustia de ellos él fue también angustiado, y el ángel de su presencia los salvó; en su amor y en su clemencia los redimió, los levantó y los trajo, todos los días de la antigüedad.

10 B ut they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; therefore He turned to become their enemy and Himself fought against them.

Mas ellos fueron rebeldes, y contristaron su Santo Espíritu; por lo cual se les volvió enemigo, y él mismo peleó contra ellos.

11 T hen His people remembered the days of old, of Moses and his people, Where is He Who brought up out of the Sea, with shepherds of His flock? Where is He Who put His Holy Spirit within their midst,

Mas luego se acordó de los días antiguos, de Moisés y de su pueblo, diciendo: ¿Dónde está el que les hizo subir del mar con el pastor de su rebaño?, ¿dónde el que puso en medio de ellos su Santo Espíritu,

12 W ho caused His glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses, dividing the waters before them, to make for Himself an everlasting name,

el que hizo que el brazo de su gloria marchase a la derecha de Moisés; el que dividió las aguas delante de ellos, haciéndose así un nombre perpetuo,

13 W ho led them through the depths, like a horse in the wilderness, so that they did not stumble?

el que los condujo por los abismos, como un caballo por el desierto, sin que tropezaran?

14 L ike the cattle that go down into the valley, the Spirit of the Lord caused them to rest. So did You lead Your people to make for Yourself a beautiful and glorious name.

El Espíritu de Jehová los llevó a descansar como al ganado que desciende al valle; así guiaste a tu pueblo, para hacerte un nombre glorioso. Plegaria pidiendo misericordia y ayuda

15 L ook down from heaven and see from the dwelling place of Your holiness and Your glory. Where are Your zeal and Your jealousy and Your mighty acts ? Your yearning pity and the compassions of Your heart are restrained and withheld from me.

Mira desde el cielo, y contempla desde tu santa y gloriosa morada. ¿Dónde está tu celo, y tu poder, la conmoción de tus entrañas y tus piedades, que ahora se han cerrado para mí?

16 F or You are our Father, even though Abraham does not know us and Israel (Jacob) does not acknowledge us; You, O Lord, are our Father, our Redeemer from everlasting is Your name.

Pues tú eres nuestro padre, si bien Abraham nos ignora, e Israel no nos reconoce; tú, oh Jehová, eres nuestro padre; nuestro Redentor perpetuo es tu nombre.

17 O Lord, why have You made us to err from Your ways and hardened our hearts to fear of You? Return for Your servants’ sake, the tribes of Your heritage.

¿Por qué, oh Jehová, nos has hecho errar de tus caminos, y endureciste nuestro corazón a tu temor? Vuélvete por amor de tus siervos, por las tribus de tu heredad.

18 Y our holy people possessed Your sanctuary but a little while; our adversaries have trodden it down.

Por poco tiempo poseyó tu pueblo tu lugar santo; nuestros enemigos han hollado tu santuario.

19 W e have become like those over whom You never exercised rule, like those who were not called by Your name.

Hemos venido a ser como aquellos sobre los cuales nunca gobernaste, como aquellos que nunca fueron llamados por tu nombre.
