1 A nd 480 years after the Israelites came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the second month, Ziv, he began to build the Lord’s house.

En el año cuatrocientos ochenta de la salida de los hijos de Israel de Egipto, el cuarto año del reinado de Salomón sobre Israel, en el mes de Zif, que es el mes segundo, comenzó él a edificar la casa de Jehová.

2 T he length of the house Solomon built for the Lord was sixty cubits, its breadth twenty, and its height thirty cubits.

La casa que el rey Salomón edificó a Jehová tenía sesenta codos de largo y veinte de ancho, y treinta codos de alto.

3 T he length of the vestibule in front of the temple was twenty cubits, equal to the width of the house, and its depth in front of the house was ten cubits.

Y el pórtico delante del templo de la casa tenía veinte codos de largo a lo ancho de la casa, y el ancho delante de la casa era de diez codos.

4 F or the house he made narrow windows.

E hizo a la casa ventanas anchas por dentro y estrechas por fuera.

5 A gainst the wall of the house he built chambers running round the walls of the house both of the Holy Place and of the Holy of Holies; and he made side chambers all around.

Edificó también junto al muro de la casa una galería alrededor, contra las paredes de la casa alrededor del templo y del lugar santísimo; e hizo cámaras laterales alrededor.

6 T he first story’s side chambers were five cubits wide, those of the middle story six cubits wide, and of the third story seven cubits wide; for around the outside of the wall of the house he made offsets in order that the supporting beams should not be thrust into the walls of the house.

La galería de abajo era de cinco codos de ancho, la intermedia de seis codos, y la tercera de siete codos de ancho; porque por fuera había hecho disminuciones a la casa alrededor, para no empotrar las vigas en las paredes de la casa.

7 W hen the house was being built, its stone was made ready at the quarry, and no hammer, ax, or tool of iron was heard in the house while it was in building.

Y cuando se edificó la casa, la fabricaron de piedras que traían ya acabadas, de tal manera que cuando la edificaban, ni martillos ni hachas se oyeron en la casa, ni ningún otro instrumento de hierro.

8 T he entrance to the lowest side chamber was on the right side of the house; and one went up winding stairs into the middle chamber and from the middle into the third.

La puerta del piso de en medio estaba al lado derecho de la casa; y se subía por una escalera de caracol al de en medio, y del piso de en medio al tercero.

9 S o Solomon built the temple building and finished it, and roofed the house with beams and boards of cedar.

Edificó, pues, la casa, y la terminó; y la cubrió con artesonados de cedro.

10 T hen he built the stories of chambers against all the house, each five cubits high; and it was joined to the house with timbers of cedar.

Edificó asimismo la galería alrededor de toda la casa, de altura de cinco codos, la cual se apoyaba en la casa con vigas de cedro.

11 N ow the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying,

Y vino palabra de Jehová a Salomón, diciendo:

12 C oncerning this house which you are building, if you will walk in My statutes, execute My precepts, and keep all My commandments to walk in them, then I will fulfill to you My promises which I made to David your father.

Con relación a esta casa que tú edificas, si andas en mis estatutos y cumples mis decretos, y guardas todos mis mandamientos andando en ellos, yo cumpliré contigo mi palabra que hablé a David tu padre;

13 A nd I will dwell among the Israelites and will not forsake My people Israel.

y habitaré en ella en medio de los hijos de Israel, y no dejaré a mi pueblo Israel.

14 S o Solomon built the house and finished it.

Así, pues, Salomón edificó la casa y la terminó.

15 H e built the walls of the house (the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies) within with boards of cedar, from the floor of the house to the rafters of the ceiling. He covered the inside with wood, and the floor of the house with boards of cypress.

Y revistió las paredes de la casa por el interior con tablas de cedro, desde el suelo de la casa hasta las vigas de la techumbre; cubrió también el pavimento con madera de ciprés.

16 H e built twenty cubits of the rear of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the rafters; he built it within for the sanctuary, the Holy of Holies.

Asimismo hizo al final de la casa un edificio de veinte codos, de tablas de cedro desde el suelo hasta lo más alto; así hizo en la casa un aposento que es el lugar santísimo.

17 T he house, that is, the temple in front of the Holy of Holies, was forty cubits long.

La casa, esto es, el templo delante del lugar santísimo, tenía cuarenta codos.

18 T he cedar on the house within was carved with gourds and open flowers. All was cedar; no stone was visible.

Y el cedro del interior de la casa estaba esculpido con figuras de calabazas silvestres y de botones de flores. Todo era cedro; no se veía la piedra.

19 A nd he prepared the Holy of Holies in the inner room in which to set the ark of the covenant of the Lord.

Y adornó el lugar santísimo por dentro en medio de la casa, para poner allí el arca del pacto de Jehová.

20 T he Holy of Holies was twenty cubits in length, in breadth, and in height. He overlaid it with pure gold. He also overlaid the cedar altar.

El lugar santísimo estaba en la parte de adentro, el cual tenía veinte codos de largo, veinte de ancho y veinte de altura; y lo cubrió de oro purísimo; asimismo cubrió de oro el altar de cedro.

21 S olomon overlaid the house within with pure gold, and he drew chains of gold across in front of the Holy of Holies and overlaid it with gold.

De manera que Salomón cubrió de oro puro la casa por dentro, y cerró la entrada del santuario con cadenas de oro, y lo cubrió de oro.

22 A nd the whole house he overlaid with gold, until all the house was finished. Also the whole altar that belonged to the Holy of Holies he overlaid with gold.

Cubrió, pues, de oro toda la casa de arriba abajo, y asimismo cubrió de oro todo el altar que estaba frente al lugar santísimo. Los querubines

23 W ithin the Holy of Holies he made two cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high.

Hizo también en el lugar santísimo dos querubines de madera de olivo, cada uno de diez codos de altura.

24 F ive cubits was the length of one wing of the cherub and five cubits its other wing; from the tip of one wing to the tip of the other was ten cubits.

Un ala del querubín tenía cinco codos, y la otra ala del querubín otros cinco codos; así que había diez codos desde la punta de un ala hasta la punta de la otra.

25 T he wings of the other cherub were also ten cubits. Both cherubim were the same,

Asimismo el otro querubín tenía diez codos; porque ambos querubines eran de un mismo tamaño y de una misma hechura.

26 T he height of one cherub ten cubits, as was the other.

La altura del uno era de diez codos, y asimismo la del otro.

27 H e put the cherubim within the inner sanctuary. Their wings were stretched out, so that the wing of one touched one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall, and their inner wings touched in the midst of the room.

Puso estos querubines dentro de la casa en el lugar santísimo, los cuales extendían sus alas, de modo que el ala de uno tocaba una pared, y el ala del otro tocaba la otra pared, y las otras dos alas se tocaban la una a la otra en medio de la casa.

28 S olomon overlaid the cherubim with gold.

Y cubrió de oro los querubines.

29 H e carved all the walls of the house (these two holy rooms) round about with figures of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, within and without.

Y esculpió todas las paredes de la casa alrededor, de diversas figuras, de querubines, de palmeras y de capullos de flores, vistos por dentro y por fuera.

30 T he floor of the house he overlaid with gold, inside and out.

Y cubrió de oro el piso de la casa, tanto el interior como el exterior.

31 F or the Holy of Holies he made doors of olive wood; their entire width was one-fifth that of the wall.

A la entrada del santuario hizo puertas de madera de olivo; y el umbral y los postes eran de cinco esquinas.

32 O n the two doors of olive wood he carved cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers; he overlaid them with gold, and spread gold on the cherubim and palm trees.

Las dos puertas eran de madera de olivo; y talló en ellas figuras de querubines, de palmeras y de capullos de flores, y las cubrió de oro; cubrió también de oro los entallados de querubines y de las palmeras del interior.

33 A lso he made for the door of the Holy Place four-sided posts of olive wood.

Igualmente hizo a la puerta del templo postes cuadrados de madera de olivo.

34 T he two doors were of cypress wood; the two leaves of each door were folding.

Pero las dos puertas eran de madera de ciprés; las dos hojas de una puerta giraban, y las otras dos hojas de la otra puerta giraban también.

35 H e carved on them cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, covered with gold evenly applied on the carved work.

Y talló en ellas querubines y palmeras y capullos de flores, y las cubrió de oro ajustado a las talladuras.

36 H e built the inner court with three rows of hewn stone and a row of cedar beams.

Y edificó el atrio interior con tres hileras de piedras labradas, y una hilera de vigas de cedro.

37 I n the fourth year the foundation of the Lord’s house was laid, in the month, Ziv.

En el cuarto año, en el mes de Zif, se echaron los cimientos de la casa de Jehová.

38 I n the eleventh year, in Bul, the eighth month, the house was finished throughout according to all its specifications. So he was seven years in building it.

Y en el undécimo año, en el mes de Bul, que es el mes octavo, fue acabada la casa con todas sus dependencias, según todo su proyecto. La edificó, pues, en siete años.
