1 B ehold, a King will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule with justice.

He aquí que reinará un rey con rectitud, y los magistrados gobernarán con justicia.

2 A nd each one of them shall be like a hiding place from the wind and a shelter from the storm, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a great rock in a weary land.

Y será aquel varón como un escondedero contra el viento, y como un refugio contra el turbión; como arroyos de aguas en tierra de sequedad, como sombra de gran peñasco en tierra calurosa.

3 T hen the eyes of those who see will not be closed or dimmed, and the ears of those who hear will listen.

No se cerrarán entonces los ojos de los que ven, y los oídos de los que escuchan estarán atentos.

4 A nd the mind of the rash will understand knowledge and have good judgment, and the tongue of the stammerers will speak readily and plainly.

Y el corazón de los atolondrados comprenderá para saber, y la lengua de los tartamudos estará lista para hablar claramente.

5 T he fool (the unbeliever and the ungodly) will no more be called noble, nor the crafty and greedy said to be bountiful and princely.

El ruin nunca más será llamado generoso, ni el tramposo será llamado espléndido.

6 F or the fool speaks folly and his mind plans iniquity: practicing profane ungodliness and speaking error concerning the Lord, leaving the craving of the hungry unsatisfied and causing the drink of the thirsty to fail.

Porque el ruin hablará ruindades, y su corazón fabricará iniquidad, para cometer impiedad y para proferir impiedades contra Jehová, dejando vacía el alma del hambriento, y quitando la bebida al sediento.

7 T he instruments and methods of the fraudulent and greedy are evil; he devises wicked devices to ruin the poor and the lowly with lying words, even when the plea of the needy is just and right.

Las armas del tramposo son malvadas; trama intrigas inicuas para enredar a los sencillos con palabras mentirosas, y al necesitado cuando defiende una causa justa.

8 B ut the noble, openhearted, and liberal man devises noble things; and he stands for what is noble, openhearted, and generous.

9 R ise up, you women who are at ease! Hear my voice, you confident and careless daughters! Listen to what I am saying!

Mujeres indolentes, levantaos, oíd mi voz; hijas confiadas, escuchad mi palabra.

10 I n little more than a year you will be shaken with anxiety, you careless and complacent women; for the vintage will fail, and the ingathering will not come.

De aquí a algo más de un año tendréis espanto, oh confiadas; porque la vendimia faltará, y la cosecha no vendrá.

11 T remble, you women who are at ease! Shudder with fear, you complacent ones! Strip yourselves bare and gird sackcloth upon your loins!

Temblad, oh indolentes; turbaos, oh confiadas; despojaos, desnudaos, ceñid los lomos con cilicio.

12 T hey shall beat upon their breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine,

Golpeaos el pecho en señal de duelo por los campos deleitosos, por la vid fértil,

13 F or the land of my people growing over with thorns and briers—yes, for all the houses of joy in the joyous city.

por la tierra de mi pueblo en la que crecerán espinos y zarzas, y aun por todas las casas en que hay alegría en la ciudad del jolgorio. Despertamiento final y salvación

14 F or the palace shall be forsaken, the populous city shall be deserted; the hill and the watchtower shall become dens endlessly, a joy for wild donkeys, a pasture for flocks,

Porque los palacios quedarán desiertos, quedará desierta la ciudad; las torres y fortalezas se volverán cuevas para siempre, donde descansen los asnos monteses, y los ganados tengan donde pacer;

15 U ntil the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is valued as a forest.

hasta que sobre nosotros sea derramado el Espíritu de lo alto, y el desierto se convierta en campo fértil, y el campo fértil sea estimado por bosque.

16 T hen justice will dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation) will abide in the fruitful field.

Y habitará la justicia en el desierto, y en el campo fértil morará la rectitud.

17 A nd the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness will be quietness and confident trust forever.

Y el resultado de la justicia será la paz; y el producto de la rectitud, tranquilidad y seguridad para siempre.

18 M y people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting-places.

Y mi pueblo habitará en morada de paz, en habitaciones seguras, y en lugares de reposo.

19 B ut it shall hail, coming down overpoweringly on the forest, and the capital city shall be utterly humbled and laid prostrate.

Y aunque caiga granizo sobre las cañadas del bosque y la ciudad quede del todo destruida,

20 H appy and fortunate are you who cast your seed upon all waters, you who safely send forth the ox and the donkey.

¡cuán dichosos seréis vosotros, sembrando junto a todas las aguas, y dejando libres al buey y al asno!
