1 N ow in thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was in the midst of captivity beside the river Chebar, the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God.

Aconteció en el año treinta, en el mes cuarto, a los cinco días del mes, que estando yo entre los deportados junto al río Quebar, los cielos se abrieron, y vi visiones de Dios.

2 O n the fifth day of the month, which was in the fifth year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity,

En el quinto año de la deportación del rey Joaquín, a los cinco días del mes,

3 T he word of the Lord came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was there upon him.

vino expresamente palabra de Jehová al sacerdote Ezequiel, hijo de Buzi, en la tierra de los caldeos, junto al río Quebar; y allí fue sobre él la mano de Jehová.

4 A s I looked, behold, a stormy wind came out of the north, and a great cloud with a fire enveloping it and flashing continually; a brightness was about it and out of the midst of it there seemed to glow amber metal, out of the midst of the fire.

Y miré, y he aquí que venía del norte un viento tempestuoso, y una gran nube, con un fuego fulgurante, y alrededor de él un resplandor, y en el medio como el fulgor del electro, en medio del fuego,

5 A nd out of the midst of it came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man,

y del centro emergía la figura de cuatro seres vivientes. Y éste era su aspecto: había en ellos semejanza de hombre.

6 B ut each one had four faces and each one had four wings.

Cada uno tenía cuatro caras y cuatro alas.

7 A nd their legs were straight legs, and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot, and they sparkled like burnished bronze.

Y los pies de ellos eran derechos; y la planta de sus pies, como planta de pie de becerro; y centelleaban a manera de bronce muy bruñido.

8 A nd they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides. And the four of them had their faces and their wings thus:

Debajo de sus alas, a sus cuatro lados, tenían manos de hombre; y en cuanto a las caras y a las alas de los cuatro,

9 T heir wings touched one another; they turned not when they went but went every one straight forward.

con las alas se juntaban el uno al otro. No se volvían cuando andaban, sino que cada uno caminaba derecho hacia adelante.

10 A s for the likeness of their faces, they each had the face of a man, and each had the face of a lion on the right side and the face of an ox on the left side; the four also had the face of an eagle.

Y el aspecto de sus caras era cara de hombre, y cara de león al lado derecho de los cuatro, y cara de buey a la izquierda en los cuatro; asimismo había en los cuatro cara de águila.

11 S uch were their faces. And their wings were stretched out upward; two wings of each one were touching the wing of the creatures on either side of it, and two wings of each creature covered its body.

Así eran sus caras. Y tenían sus alas extendidas por encima, cada uno dos, las cuales se juntaban; y las otras dos cubrían sus cuerpos.

12 A nd they went every one straight forward; wherever the spirit would go, they went, and they turned not when they went.

Y cada uno caminaba derecho hacia adelante; hacia donde el espíritu les movía a que anduviesen, andaban; y cuando andaban, no se volvían.

13 I n the midst of the living creatures there was what looked like burning coals of fire, like torches moving to and fro among the living creatures; the fire was bright and out of the fire went forth lightning.

Cuanto a la semejanza de los seres vivientes, su aspecto era como de carbones de fuego encendidos, como visión de hachones encendidos que fulguraba entre los seres vivientes; y el fuego resplandecía, y del fuego salían relámpagos.

14 A nd the living creatures darted back and forth like a flash of lightning.

Y los seres vivientes corrían y volvían a semejanza de relámpagos.

15 N ow as I was still looking at the living creatures, I saw one wheel upon the ground beside each of the living creatures with its four faces.

Mientras yo miraba los seres vivientes, he aquí una rueda sobre la tierra junto a los seres vivientes, a los cuatro lados.

16 A s to the appearance of the wheels and their construction: in appearance they gleamed like chrysolite; and the four were formed alike, and their construction work was as it were a wheel within a wheel.

El aspecto de las ruedas y su obra era semejante al color del crisólito. Y las cuatro tenían una misma semejanza; su apariencia y su obra eran como una rueda en medio de otra rueda.

17 W hen they went, they went in one of their four directions without turning.

Cuando andaban, se movían hacia sus cuatro costados; no se volvían cuando andaban.

18 A s for their rims, they were so high that they were dreadful, and the four had their rims full of eyes round about.

Y sus aros eran altos y espantosos, y llenos de ojos alrededor en las cuatro.

19 A nd when the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.

Y cuando los seres vivientes andaban, las ruedas andaban junto a ellos; y cuando los seres vivientes se levantaban de la tierra, las ruedas se levantaban.

20 W herever the spirit went, the creatures went and the wheels rose along with them, for the spirit or life of the living creature was in the wheels.

Hacia donde el espíritu les movía a que anduviesen, andaban; hacia donde les movía el espíritu que anduviesen, las ruedas también se levantaban tras ellos; porque el espíritu de los seres vivientes estaba en las ruedas.

21 W hen those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up high beside them, for the spirit or life of the living creature was in the wheels.

Cuando ellos andaban, andaban ellas, y cuando ellos se paraban, se paraban ellas; asimismo, cuando se levantaban de la tierra, las ruedas se levantaban juntamente con ellos; porque el espíritu de los seres vivientes estaba en las ruedas.

22 O ver the head of the living creature there was the likeness of a firmament, looking like the terrible and awesome crystal or ice stretched across the expanse of sky over their heads.

Y sobre las cabezas de los seres vivientes había como una especie de bóveda a manera de cristal maravilloso, extendido encima sobre sus cabezas.

23 A nd under the firmament their wings were stretched out straight, one toward another. Every living creature had two wings which covered its body on this side and two which covered it on that side.

Y debajo de la bóveda las alas de ellos estaban rectas, la una al nivel de la otra; y cada uno tenía dos alas que cubrían su cuerpo.

24 A nd when they went, I heard the sound of their wings like the noise of great waters, like the voice of the Almighty, the sound of tumult like the noise of a host. When they stood, they let down their wings.

Y oí el sonido de sus alas cuando andaban, como sonido de muchas aguas, como la voz del Omnipotente, un ruido de tumulto, como el ruido de un ejército acampado. Cuando se paraban, bajaban sus alas.

25 A nd there was a voice above the firmament that was over their heads; when they stood, they let down their wings.

Pues cuando resonaba una voz por encima de la bóveda que había sobre sus cabezas, conforme estaban parados, plegaban sus alas.

26 A nd above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne in appearance like a sapphire stone, and seated above the likeness of a throne was a likeness with the appearance of a Man.

Y por encima de la bóveda que había sobre sus cabezas había como la figura de un trono que parecía de piedra de zafiro; y sobre la figura del trono había una semejanza que parecía de hombre sentado sobre él.

27 F rom what had the appearance of His waist upward, I saw a lustre as it were glowing metal with the appearance of fire enclosed round about within it; and from the appearance of His waist downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness round about Him.

Y vi luego como el fulgor del bronce bruñido, como apariencia de fuego dentro de ella en derredor, desde el aspecto de sus lomos para arriba; y desde sus lomos para abajo, vi que parecía como fuego, y que tenía resplandor alrededor.

28 L ike the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face and I heard a voice of One speaking.

Semejante al arco iris que aparece en las nubes el día que llueve, así era el aspecto del resplandor alrededor. Ésta era la apariencia de la imagen de la gloria de Jehová. Y cuando yo la vi, me postré sobre mi rostro, y oí la voz de uno que hablaba.
