1 P aul, an apostle (special messenger) of Christ Jesus (the Messiah), by the divine will (the purpose and the choice of God) to the saints (the consecrated, set-apart ones) at Ephesus who are also faithful and loyal and steadfast in Christ Jesus:

2 M ay grace (God’s unmerited favor) and spiritual peace be yours from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Gracia y paz a vosotros, de parte de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo. Bendiciones espirituales en Cristo

3 M ay blessing (praise, laudation, and eulogy) be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual (given by the Holy Spirit) blessing in the heavenly realm!

Bendito sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que nos bendijo con toda bendición espiritual en los lugares celestiales en Cristo,

4 E ven as He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love.

según nos escogió en él antes de la fundación del mundo, para que fuésemos santos y sin mancha delante de él en amor,

5 F or He foreordained us (destined us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will '> because it pleased Him and was His kind intent]—

habiéndonos predestinado para ser adoptados como hijos suyos por medio de Jesucristo, conforme al beneplácito de su voluntad,

6 t o the praise and the commendation of His glorious grace (favor and mercy), which He so freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.

para alabanza de la gloria de su gracia, de la que nos ha colmado en el Amado,

7 I n Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor,

en quien tenemos redención por medio de su sangre, el perdón de pecados según las riquezas de su gracia,

8 W hich He lavished upon us in every kind of wisdom and understanding (practical insight and prudence),

que hizo sobreabundar para con nosotros en toda sabiduría e inteligencia,

9 M aking known to us the mystery (secret) of His will (of His plan, of His purpose). In accordance with His good pleasure (His merciful intention) which He had previously purposed and set forth in Him,

dándonos a conocer el misterio de su voluntad, según su beneplácito, el cual se había propuesto en sí mismo,

10 f or the maturity of the times and the climax of the ages to unify all things and head them up and consummate them in Christ, things in heaven and things on the earth.

con miras a restaurar todas las cosas en Cristo en la dispensación del cumplimiento de los tiempos, tanto las que están en los cielos, como las que están en la tierra,

11 I n Him we also were made heritage (portion) and we obtained an inheritance; for we had been foreordained (chosen and appointed beforehand) in accordance with His purpose, Who works out everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His will,

en unión con él, en quien también hemos tenido suerte, habiendo sido predestinados conforme al propósito del que efectúa todas las cosas según el designio de su voluntad,

12 S o that we who first hoped in Christ live for the praise of His glory!

a fin de que seamos para alabanza de su gloria, nosotros los que ya antes esperábamos en Cristo.

13 I n Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit.

En él también vosotros, habiendo oído la palabra de verdad, el evangelio de vuestra salvación, y habiendo creído, fuisteis sellados también en él con el Espíritu Santo de la promesa,

14 T hat is the guarantee of our inheritance, in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring possession of it—to the praise of His glory.

el cual es las arras de nuestra herencia con miras a la redención de la posesión adquirida, para alabanza de su gloria. Pablo ora por los efesios

15 F or this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints (the people of God),

Por esta causa también yo, habiendo oído de vuestra fe en el Señor Jesús, y de vuestro amor para con todos los santos,

16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.

no ceso de dar gracias por vosotros, haciendo memoria de vosotros en mis oraciones,

17 t he God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,

para que el Dios de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, el Padre de gloria, os dé espíritu de sabiduría y de revelación en el conocimiento pleno de él,

18 B y having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),

alumbrando los ojos de vuestro entendimiento, para que sepáis cuál es la esperanza a que él os ha llamado, y cuáles las riquezas de la gloria de su herencia en los santos,

19 A nd what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,

y cuál la supereminente grandeza de su poder para con nosotros los que creemos, conforme a la eficacia de su fuerza,

20 W hich He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly,

la cual ejercitó en Cristo, resucitándole de los muertos y sentándole a su diestra en los lugares celestiales,

21 F ar above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come.

por encima de todo principado, autoridad, poder y señorío, y de todo nombre que se nombra, no sólo en este siglo, sino también en el venidero;

22 A nd He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church,

y sometió todas las cosas bajo sus pies, y lo dio por cabeza sobre todas las cosas a la iglesia,

23 W hich is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all.

la cual es su cuerpo, la plenitud de Aquel que todo lo llena en todo.
